Truthfulness IS a kindness. It's disrespectful to yourself and the person your actions affect when you aren't truthful. There is always a way to be kind while also being truthful but rarely is being dishonest a kind thing, Analogy: Your best friend or spouse gets a new haircut and it's horrible but they love it. It's unkind to say That's Horrible. It's dishonest to say That looks Wonderful. What is both kind and honest is to say You're glowing and that's beautiful. Something like that which is both kind and truthful. Your integrity is the one thing no one can take from you. You must choose to give it away. So keep it sacred and be both kind and truthful.

Also Hannah is obviously very capable of thinking at least three steps ahead of the average person and she's honest to a fault. Along with all of those intelligent qualities, she loves fully and completely from the heart.
What makes you two so fun to listen too… Shane is not serious. He’s silly. He’s funny. But clearly smart and not a fool. And Hannah is more serious. Not silly. Less an entertainer. So you bring the best out in each other. Shane is totally an entertainer but he enhances Hannah’s seriousness with his antics and brings her out of her shell. And like all men, that are funny, it can get annoying if there’s too many jokes so Hannah balances Shane so he doesn’t come off annoying or foolish (like many men do as the TRY to be funny). You two really are a good match as a couple and fun to listen to as a balanced couple. ❤

Hello y’all I just discovered you two. I absolutely LOVE you both. My son is 28 and has Cerebral palsy. He’s mentally ok, but physically not able to do much . He can use his hands to feed himself and play his PS5, but that’s about it. He is much bigger than you Shane, and I often wonder if he will ever have a girlfriend. I have lots of worries for him and his emotional state. He lives with his father and hardly ever gets out of the house. I’d love for him to see how much life he can still have and enjoy. Finding you have gave me hope for his happiness. He’s always wanted a girlfriend and I’m praying one day he will find HIS Hannah ❤ Thank you so much for sharing your life with the world. i sit around all day watching you two and facebook and tv shows and movies, semi retired/disabled. Yet I am happy, I have been semi successful in my younger days but only semi and I was seldom happy due to my disability holding me back from full success. But today, with financial security and no longer having to prove myself as successful, I am extremely HAPPY!

I have two toys from build a bear: i did a high school exchange in the US when i was 15 years old, so 20 years ago... and my exchange student/ friend took me to the shop and we each made a bear for eachother as a friend gift. She also put a voice box inside:) The voice thing worked for quite some years but then after washing it so often it broke i assume:) My second one was a girafe i made on my own in cape town, south africa, when i was in my twenties:) i still have both of them and love them very much:)

In 2019 they named him the first annual "Hug AmBEARsador" (though there haven't appeared to be any subsequent ambearsadors). My thoughts on the debate: Topic 1. I believe happiness is better then success. Topic 2. I also believe it is more important to be kind. It depends on the situation though. If I'm with my friends or family and I ask for the truth I expect they would share it even if it's hurtful. As far as Hannah not being able to fake it. I understand but there are times when it's important to fake it just to keep the peace. Topic 3. I wouldn't want to live infinite time but I wouldn't mind if I lived a couple hundred years as long as I could function as I am today. Great segments I hope you do more in the future. I'm a big fan.

My now husband took me to Build-a-bear when we had been dating for about a month. I’m currently pregnant with our second. We’ve been married for 6 years. And I still sleep with the bear every night 😝

The patch worked great for me, but I took it off too soon the first time and had leftover sea legs so felt nauseous back on land. Oh debate memories! Over time, add in the H-I-S (harms, inherent barriers, solution) side of all that. In my brothers years (late 80's, early 91's) the sort of running joke was everything lead to nuclear annihilation. It became this energy in the audience to see how, as a real example for the topic of Homelessness, how having porta potties, would lean to nuclear annihilation. Ooooh the memories! (I did switch to LD debate which was so different but also fun.)

I would like to comment on the happiness vs success segment. I recently saw a video where a family with little to no money, playing in the rain and mud were having the time of their lives with everyone involved. And a family of much wealth and structure. Yes, we all need structure to a point. But the kids from the wealthy, successful parents were sitting on their ipads and phones and no interacting at all with anyone in the family. And honestly, the first family, the smiles and laughter coming from the kids and parents is what everyone should inspire to have. And they will forever remember these moments when they all played in the mud and rain. So I side with Hannah on that topic. :) Dont worry about messes! Make memories that last.

Don't worry about motion sickness. I was on my first cruise in September and I hardly felt the motion. It is a giant ship, not a boat that gets tossed around. Maybe just avoid the top open deck on a windy day. I am sure the pool will be open in 60 degree weather. Is Liz coming?

I wish you'd booked a Gulf of Mexico cruise. It's usually very calm. We went in Oct and it felt like we were in a hotel. Hoping our March cruise is the same. Love the debate!! Interesting topics, I enjoyed your debate skills, Hannah! Make sure you keep a patch or wristband on for a day or so after getting off the cruise. The patch worked great for me, but I took it off too soon the first time and had leftover sea legs so felt nauseous back on land. If you wait until you are acclimatized to being back on land, you should be okay. Have a great holiday!!

Oh debate memories! Over time, add in the H-I-S (harms, inherent barriers, solution) side of all that. In my brothers years (late 80's, early 91's) the sort of running joke was everything lead to nuclear annihilation. It became this energy in the audience to see how, as a real example for the topic of Homelessness, how having porta potties, would lean to nuclear annihilation. Ooooh the memories! (I did switch to LD debate which was so different but also fun.)

Monday Grub bag question: Shane in your book, Laughing at my Nightmare, you mention your challenging relationship with God because of your disability. Your debate made me think of this: what are your beliefs about God/religion/Jesus/etc.?
I would like to comment on the happiness vs success segment. I recently saw a video where a family with little to no money, playing in the rain and mud were having the time of their lives with everyone involved. And a family of much wealth and structure. Yes, we all need structure to a point. But the kids from the wealthy, successful parents were sitting on their ipads and phones and no interacting at all with anyone in the family. And honestly, the first family, the smiles and laughter coming from the kids and parents is what everyone should inspire to have. And they will forever remember these moments when they all played in the mud and rain. So I side with Hannah on that topic. :) Dont worry about messes! Make memories that last.

Don't worry about motion sickness. I was on my first cruise in September and I hardly felt the motion. It is a giant ship, not a boat that gets tossed around. Maybe just avoid the top open deck on a windy day. I am sure the pool will be open in 60 degree weather. Is Liz coming?

Regarding Hannah, she's incredibly wise beyond her years and sharp as a tack! Also Hannah is obviously very capable of thinking at least three steps ahead of the average person and she's honest to a fault. Along with all of those intelligent qualities, she loves fully and completely from the heart.

I wish you'd booked a Gulf of Mexico cruise. It's usually very calm. We went in Oct and it felt like we were in a hotel. Hoping our March cruise is the same. I've been on many, but this will be #2 for my hubby. Good luck, Hannah! Oh, you wouldn't be able to get off at Grand Cayman because there's a non accessible tender.

I realize I'm writing this a couple of days after the cruise began, but I think you'll find, Hannah, that you won't feel much motion at all on the cruise. The ship is so large, and moving so slowly, that most of the time you don't even realize you're moving.
