In this video, we take a look at the emulation performance of the all-new AMD RYZEN 7 5700G "Spoiler alert" IT IS A MONSTER! with 8 cores and 16 threads running at up to 4.6GHz and backed by built-in Radeon Graphics this has been the most powerful APU River ever tested.

      I looked for prices.... And ooops man the CPU alone costs more than my DIY arcade build with everything.... Jop only a pi3 but ok it is only meant for games that where meant to play with sticks

      @@Nordlicht05 amd still hasnt released the diy version of the cpu. The only way to get the cpu is to buy a prebuilt. So people are buying prebuilts, taking the cpu out and scalping it. Amd will release it soon in august and it will be at a reasonable price. Keep your head up. Stay hopeful.

    After 10 years of various Intel i7s, I've just switched to AMD after seeing this video. Although I own an NVidia RTX 2080 Super, I've had enough of big cases to find space for big GPUs. Thanks to this Ryzen 5 5700g I've been able to build an HTPC because I still use DVD-ROM drives and it runs smooth even with Doom Eternal 720p at medium (42 fps).

      need that DDR5 memory available for system builds so AMD can incorporate something better than vega graphics since they are limited on memory bandwidth of DDR4

      @@saricubra2867 of course APU with VEGA8 is way better performance than intel integrated GPU.
      Even Althlon 3000, 2200G, 2400G, 3200G, 3400G are better than 10700K.
      I have 4750G, same PC case but silver one.
      From Ryzen APU 6000G will use Navi, DDR5 Pcie5, and game performance will be superb.

    Seeing the cpu power usage alone (nearing 100W) I really wonder if this system will keep up on the long term having only a 150W PSU. Storage, memory,... require some watts as well. But great video!

    I'd love to see you play some older games with this particular APU. If its running the latest games at low/medium settings at 1080p, I'd like to see it run something like Oblivion, Skyrim, or even Fallout 3 and New Vegas at their highest settings at 1080p.

      it most likely wont. max settings often use resources that basic GPus does not have, even the newer ones.

    I honestly wonder if it would perform any differently if the CPU were locked to 3.7Ghz instead of boosting to the moon, would be interesting to see a 30-60w power target for that processor still as long as the GPU still ran at 2000+mhz i'd be happy though i still feel like the aging vega graphics are holding this powerhouse back, This generation I really would have liked to see a ryzen 5 5470GX with 4 cores 8 threads, and 12 Vega CUs running at 2200mhz

    For me this is the way to go with emulation and sofa gaming: small form factor box, powerful APU, lot of ram, SSD and Windows or Linux.
    But the best part is that a device like this can work also as HTPC and YT browser, and the user doesn't have to mess around with the Android interface and apps.
    Also, this is the kind of hardware that one can buy used and fit inside an old unused dvd player, with some modding.

      Yep. I'm going to buy a handheld when they get just a little more powerful and just since i had my GPD WIN 1, dolphin has just become extremely impressive. Actually, most of the emulators have, come to think of it

    ETA, for some of the emulator cores that you skip past because they are too easy for these APUs (like BSNES), maybe you could crank up the difficulty by adding some 4K shaders? I am curious how some of these easier to emulate systems fare with all the bells and whistles turned on.

      @@GucciCracka1017 The Gamecube was kinda ahead of it's time in specs, not so much as the Playstation 3, basically had an i7-4790K before the i7-4790K back in 2006.
      Fun fact, if you try to load The Last Of Us in a i7-4790K, you get 100% CPU use for all 4 cores lmao.

    I love the cabinet. Unfortunately nothing like this in my country available. I don't like my bulky cabinet.

    You should do more teknoparrot benchmarks or stand alone arcade pc titles with jconfig.

    Even the 3400g runs emulators fine for me lol. The 5700g is gonna be even better though i know for a budget cpu. Cant wait to get one when available

    Hopefully this will get an answer but, were there any specific settings in RetroArch or other emulators that improve stability? Seems like every processor and setup requires a little tweaking to get the best performance and reliability.

    Ik it still hard for us to buy heck even dream hving this machine after looking at the price
    But this is one of the effort to make the apu more affordable
    It still expensive so to speak
    But who knows few years later
    We hv seen great improvement over the years in cpu development
    I believe this one day will become less expensive

    I have an Asus X 570 I with a 3400G. I know when these 5700G engineering samples were first hitting they weren't guaranteeing full functionality with the existing BIOS. I am assuming that's all set now?

      @@godslayer1415 What's that supposed to mean? The backwards compatibility means decades of games, and apus are getting quite close to 1080p low for modern pc titles. Vita and 360 are basically the last remaining consoles worth emulating on something like this that can't be done yet, but xenia is getting there. 720p on apus regularly hitting 60fps in modern pc titles.

    Do you have any details as to what the power consumption is? My current PC (Ryzen 7 3700x and a RX580) Sits at 100w on desktop and between 200 and 250w gaming - I'd like to get this down to current "console" standards, and while I'd lose graphics it might be a sacrifice to get a lower powered machine.

    Good to know the Chopin psu can actually handle the 5700g. Wondering when we'll get to the point of needing a 200-250w psu.

      The HP Pavilion it comes in only has a custom 180W PSU, so trying to put a dedicated GPU that requires a power connector wouldn't work. You'd end up needing an all new case, motherboard, PSU and CPU cooler.
