Simple. Goalkeepers need as many minutes as they can get, and if that means playing for a rival team, so be it. It's not like the management actually cares who to sell him to because he had been a very valuable member of the team and since they have a new starter it's pointless to keep two starting goalkeepers in the team. Plus the move frees him from the team's payroll. So this is obviously for the good of the player's career and for the selling team's financial situation.
