It's something artists can sometimes feel: imposter syndrome, when they feel like they don't deserve the fame and that others deserve it more. It's kinda part of people exposed to large outlets of people. Maybe we just weren't really ment to be easily connected to such large masses of people.

It sucks the human brain can't always process respect well. Can poison what should be compliments and kindness and twist it around and make you feel like you never earned it.

Not a singer or rapper but as a fellow artist within indie games & animation I can understand what both gameboyjones and rustage are saying. It is stressful but at same time cant really choose a day to take off cause cant choose when to be creative

Unfortunately, that stress is part of life. That is why people have "respect" for those who can handle life and find constructive ways to deal with the stress. That is also why the older generations seem to have little empathy for the younger generations is because they already went through the same sh**. But probably did not have the same opportunities, advantages, outlets and support. More people should listen to motivational videos to understand what it takes to live, and how much more it takes make improvements in your life. If you want to become a youtube star or whatever you will need to grind out a new path, and it takes sacrifice. Whining/complaining gets you nowhere. Learning how to deal with it makes you stronger so you can overcome the difficulties in your way to your dreams/success. "greatness, It is not easy, if it were easy, everyone would do it."

If I may say, maybe instead of trying to chill out, usually meaning to literally rest, what if instead one was to try and take up a new activity, even just for the short term, to cool off and become refreshed. Loads of people I know tried doing something they wouldn't normally do, like carpentry or audio books. They felt ready to go and happier after cooling off that way.
For myself, listening to an audio book I found by accident helped clear my head for a book idea of my own. Just finding a new outlet can work wonders.
Every time one of the people in this crew reacts to this, they all look so concerned. I appreciate that. Rustage deserves all he's earned and a break is among those.

Shit, I don't even make music, i fancy myself an author, and even I can relate to not choosing when you're creative, man i wish we could though.
This. I feel a duality with the messages of Rustage’s song and GBJ’s reaction to it. I work in the mental health field (so very familiar with the stress other people feel and my own stress from doing the work). And I sometimes write poetry and song lyrics on my off-time, with several pieces in progress because the time for creativity hasn’t come around for a week or few weeks.
Being an author is so weird because writer's block is such a hassle, but the problem is too that multiple different ideas come up and new stories start to form and you just decide to jot a little bit down. I have a little "book" I've been writing ever since middle school (I'm in college now) and I put too much yet too little time in it that I feel like I should just finish it already, especially since ideas for a sequel are already forming. It's rough not being able to choose when you're creative
