Today I discovered Maestro Arensky, perhaps his music was hidden in the depth of Glacier Arensky and it took Maestro Zukerman and the other performers (I wish all their names were published) to bring it to the surface of my soul. Thank you Mr Parloff.

Est-ce moi qui n'entends plus les aigus, ou bien est-ce le son de Zukerman qui est trop faible...?

Interesting. I would say exactly the opposite. I find this a deep and soulful performance. Clumsy mistakes by all 3 perhaps. But this is a live performance.

es una lástima que demuestren tan poco entusiasmo (tal vez lo contienen) pero pareciera que están tocando como si fuera una cuestión de pura rutina.

I play and deeply appreciate classical music but I have no respect for such a disgraceful, racist musician. Zukerman must stop making culturally insensitive and ignorant remarks to young musicians who are Asian or Asian descendants.

For your information, I am copying Mr. Zukerman’s thoughts to the Manhattan School of Music community concerning his remarks at his recent Juilliard masterclass:

@@michaelparloff1155 I read his apology as well, however, it seems that Zukerman has been making stereotypical and offensive comments for quite a while. After I watched the video (link below), I became speechless. The words came out of his mouth are very hurtful and unacceptable, and I as a musician from NYC felt embarrassed. What's his problem with Koreans??? I personally know highly gifted and famous artists who are Korean or American with Korean heritage. I almost wanted to apologize to them in person. I don't think this matter should end here. Is art for specific ethnical groups of people only? Many Asian artists or artists with Asian heritage state that Zukerman isn't the first who treats them differently (according to the founder of the Asian Musical Voices of America). It is disgusting, especially in the world of music. th-cam.com/video/cGz-ge0EOZI/w-d-xo.html

@@RK-do8ug Dear RK, Thank you for your follow-up note. Your feelings of hurt and anger are certainly understandable. None of us enjoy being reduced to ethnic or cultural stereotypes. Also, I hear your skepticism concerning the sincerity of Mr. Zukerman’s apology. My personal sense is that he clearly understands and deeply regrets the pain that his words caused and is undergoing a period of genuine soul searching and contrition. You asked about his earlier statements in the wake of his Juilliard masterclass. Here is part of what he wrote: “… In Friday’s master class, I was trying to communicate something to these two incredibly talented young musicians, but the words I used were culturally insensitive. I’m writing to the students personally to apologize. I am sorry that I made anyone uncomfortable. I cannot undo that, but I offer a sincere apology. I learned something valuable from this, and I will do better in the future.”
