I tried all combination of ear tips and wings so even mtw2 isolate more noise for my personal use. Thank you very much for this comparison. I admire your true and real reviews.

It's interesting how subjective all of that hobby is, generally speaking. To me (personally), the MTW3 are so much better fitting in the ear than the MTW1 and 2. The ANC I get through that is way better than last gen, passive isolation that has been criticized here is also better. It's a matter of fit and seal, really. Pity that you have problems in that regard. I love the sound, love that they're finally louder and single bud mode was way overdue as was wireless charging. Great great upgrade for me! I'm going to update this comment as the video progresses... Ah man, your ears have you missing out. The ANC rivals the XM4's in my opinion. Im using them now while watching your video in the gym and dont even hear the load music blasting while my phones volume is around 75%. I'm still using the stock tips and haven't even swapped the comply tips on yet. You just showed one of my favorite features of the MTW3. Being able to hold down the bud to raise/lower the volume is AWESOME. I wish more buds did this instead of making you have to tap the bud multiple times (3 taps for most buds just for 1 click of volume so you can be tapping over 10 times to get to your desired volume) to get to the volume you want.
You are right about the volume controls. I like them too. However I found that the MTW2 adjusts the volume in smaller increments which makes it more precise too. All in all I prefer the old way over the new but that’s just nitpicking on my part 😁
Great video! It’s a shame that you have not a good seal with these buds and for me they are the most comfortable and good “sealed” one that i have ever owned, as well the wing tips are helping too. Because of that i found the ANC outstanding and the sound quality is on par with the Beoplay EQ, which I had to return because a returning feedback loop in the left earbud while using ANC. With these i have a good replacement and a much better fitting earbud compare to my previous Beoplay EQ.
Hi Andy, love your reviews! My question is, can the Momentum 3's handle louder volumes? Reason I ask is because my regular earbuds are the Liberty 3 Pro and with the dual driver setup, they can easily handle higher volumes without any distortion and I noticed the M3's only have single 7mm drivers. I'd prefer to get advice from someone who knows rather than having to drop $200 on a risky deal like this. Thanks!👍

@@michaelminevich1198 I listen to all kinds of music from electronic to jazz to classical. Also, during my tests I go through quite a few genres and songs to determine what is what. I've owned every high end bud I can find so far and nothing has stood up to the MTW2's until now. If you already own the 2's and want to know of its worth the upgrade, I say it absolutely is! Great video, Andy. Do you find a noticeable difference in sound quality when switching between your Xperia and iPhone? I know the Xperia has more codecs, so just curious if you find the difference noticeable? I have an iPhone 13 pro max and always wonder if it is worth switching back for improved audio quality. Thanks
You might notice a tiny bit of difference in terms of details and dynamics but only if your source (streaming, files etc) is of high quality too. That said, during every day use when, for example, walking on the street with ANC turned on I don’t think you can tell the codecs apart to be honest. I use my iPhone 13 Pro Max for casual listening and I don’t feel like I’m missing anything
Thanks Andy for another excellent review. I appreciate your honesty. I have ordered these buds and will receive them tomorrow. I have heard people say to never buy an earbud hoping for what a future firmware/software update may do. In this case I did just that. I am especially looking forward to the multipoint being added, and hopefully they can do a few of the fixes you mentioned as well. Have you ever used the SpinFit silicone ear tips or the Xelastec? I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks.
Thanks Brian, hope you’ll enjoy the new buds 👍 I’ve never really considered using third party tips in general but after my experience with the MTW3 I might start having a look around and build a stock of different tips for testing purposes. Thanks for your tips (pun intended) 😎
@@AndysTechTone Hi Andy! I have just received my MTW3's and I am very happy with them so far. I am using the tips that were already installed with the same fins as well. The sound is better than any TWS I have ever tried. I have the Bose QC and AirPod Pros. I have also tried numerous others and sent them back to Amazon. I think that I now understand why many people have rated the Momentum 2 so highly! I have had no issues with the software and it did a firmware update right out of the box. I do believe that these are going to be my favorites. (For now). I do hope you have some good fortune with getting some after market ear tips that can make these enjoyable for you. On these particular earbuds the SpinFit CP1025's may work well for you. They are not too deep so they do not interfere with going back into the case. I am sure a lot of people would love to hear about your thoughts on aftermarket ear tips as you learn about the various offerings. There are so many good earbuds out there that just need a bit of customization for people. Okay, have a great weekend and once again, I do appreciate your channel.
@@Docdesigner94 Hi Rain, Yes I do believe that the MTW3s are worth it for the sound aspect. I believe that they are the best sounding earbuds out right now. The bass response is great and they do not sound harsh or muddy at all. They also fit better than most other brands. All in all a great set of earbuds! I hope this helps. I would recommend them to anyone.
Thanks for this informative test the best in here👍 i agree what earbud du you use?....i have trouble when switch from other earbuds the tw3 volume starts at max power😡😡😡😡💣🎧 Wonderer if it is my lg v40 issue!!🤔
I never had that issue on any of my phones so your V40 could be responsible for the problems you have. I used Comply Premium foam tips if that’s what you’re asking
Can MTW3 be used in gym everyday? Are they comfortable? Will they stay intact or fall off occasionally? I am really thinking of buying a premium pair for gym. Lemme know your thoughts.... TIA!
The fit is something that can vary a lot from person to person. But I believe these can get the job done. That said, I would buy something else for gym use only. Jabra Elite 7 Active, LG TF8, Beats Fit Pro or even the new Airpods Pro
Thank you for an excellent informative video without the constant reference to Apple Air pods. I appreciate that. Most of the people making these videos are Apple fan boys and it's welcoming to hear an honest opinion
@@BrianVallotton Enjoy it! The new design is very fit and comfortable. The sound quality is excellent. Both sound stage, treble, vocal performance are very good. They did a great job on the bass. The only downside for me is that the loudness is low compared to competing products. (Like Master&Dynamic Mw08 Sport, Beoplay EX or EQ, Airpods Pro)
@@NonPlusUltra1 I am glad you are happy with them. I am finding that I do enjoy learning about the latest and greatest buds to hit the market and do own a few myself. You have a great collection for the MM3's to compete against! It is fun to pull out whatever pair strikes your fancy at any given time. I play guitar and have 7 of them... It is nice to have choices! Rock on!
Funny you should ask as I just realised that actually I’ve been using the original XM4 foam tips with the MTW3 instead of the Comply tips I originally got to replace the Sony tips on the XM4… 😳 I’m working on a comparison video which includes the XM4 and during the tests I noticed that something was off 🤔
When I started using true wireless earbuds sound quality was #1. Over time that changed to fit and comfort it's disappointing when certain earbuds just don't cooperate with our ears but like you said that's just the way it is. I'm glad you brought up trying to solve all of the shortcomings with software instead of designing the earbuds better physically I understand that point and thank you for making it. I love your reviews just excellent work. 👍🇺🇸💯
I have tried out some foam tips on my mtw3's as well and can also tell a difference between sound quality due to the improved seal especially when it comes to bass.
I have bought TWO Sennheiser momentum true wireless 3 earphones and after few months the problems started to appear. On one pair there was a kind of clicking sound. Returned in warranty got new one. Second pair refused to charge right earphone. Returned in warranty got new one. Few months later again both pairs had problems to charge one earphone and now I wish a hadn't bought them at all. It's not a problem to change them while in warranty but what after that 😢 Sound and use is great while they work but is it worth it for a year or less? NOT RECOMMENDED
I've been using the jabra 85t for several months and loved them, but recently got the sennheiser MTW3, and the sound is way more clear but also I noticed it also slightly bright, do u think that I just got used to the jabras and need time to adjust, because I can definitely tell that the sennheiser is probably what the music should sound like?
I personally think these are the best all around. They don’t go as deep in the ears and that does require a bit more moving around of the buds to get a right fit. So I see why that may have bothered you. Many ppl will say the SL3P or evo or Sony are the best all around but those don’t sound the way I believe your music is supposed to sound. I’m really only interested in Mom tw3 comparisons with the Beoplay ex and Eq
Totally agree. However you won’t get such conparisons from me since I don’t have any of the B&O buds. And there is the astronomical price of those buds too…
hey man, great review. I've been watching a few of your reviews and they've all been helpful but I've only decided to subscribe now after hearing what you said about the ANC and how you stated you watched other reviews and noticed it was a bit of bad luck on your part. I just want to say I love your consideration and how you don't just neglect something as you know it might be different for everyone, I really respected that! also, I'm thinking of getting these, or the sony wf1000xm4 and i know you said you are going to do some comparisons but would you be able to give a quick suggestion on what you prefer? thanks again.
Thanks man, I appreciate your feedback. As for the XM4 I would still get the Momentum 3 despite all of what I just said in this review. Detailed comparison drops next Friday hopefully
@@AndysTechTone Lovely, thanks so much. Can't wait to see the detailed comparison. What I like about these is how they've been said to have amazing sound, and decent comfort, I know you said it they weren't the most comfortable for you But I've heard some say they are really comfy. But they have all that while also containing the options to put on the fins which I really like since I would want to wear them while playing basketball. Also, did you experience much with the fins? Maybe they could potentially increase the sound quality and ANC due to creating a tighter fit?
Liked the little fin that made a snug, but comfortable fit. But kept disconnecting from my Ipad Air ("Connected, Not Connected"), almost every time despite multiple resets. And I thought volume , and max volume, could be louder. So they went back, and the search continues.. Still using my Raycons (only the Left works).
Somehow I do not see the ANC setting in the app. And my transparency mode do not have the slider. I’m using iPhone, maybe the app is different for android? Update: you’re right, my iOS was not updated so momentum 3 firmware update didn’t work.
The two apps are the same so you should check if all softwares are up to date or not (including iOS itself, the Sennheiser app and the firmware of the buds) Or maybe you just removed it from the main menu by accident using the custom tiles in the settings menu
@@AndysTechTone Absolutely. You really go in depth on your research for the products you review. I appreciate that. I like the comparison videos as well. I subscribed off this video alone. Thanks again and keep up the great work.
Andy try little longer silicone eartips sony ep-ex10a which I already using for sennheiser momentum 2, also using spinfit cp360 v2 (version two) with medical silicon with anti-slip attribute 🙂
Hey man so my 3s when I put them in my ears didn't sound loud and bass wasn't good then later all sudden it kicked in and sounded good but ur roght it doesn't fit great in my ears. Let me ask you which ones sounded good with music. I listen to all genres mostly rock like Metallica, NIN Nirvana and sone rap and house music. Which one would be better and also louder. Sennheiser told me the 3s were better but I wonder now. I should get those memory foams which ones did you get? I'll look into it.
Have the xm4 buds, just returned the jabra active elite 7s. I've always struggled to get a comfortable fit with the xm4s and they're a bit cumbersome for the gym. Would like great audio quality for my gym buds, was tempted the the az60 but there's a lot of people having comfort issues so was looking at these. And now your (as always very thorough and considered) review has put me off......
@i can't find a name have had the left ear bud issue with the jabra active 7s, so wasn't keen on going back to jabra, but maybe that could be a good shout. Decent anc is always helpful in the gym
I just returned the Jabra Elite 7's myself. I found them to be too tight in my ears. I liked everything else about them. I also had the XM4's and could not get them to be comfortable no matter what ear tips I used. It was a shame because like the Jabra's I did like everything else about them! If they don't feel good in your ears what good is all the other features!
Which are the Best Truly Wireless Earbuds sound wise only of these listed below ⬇️ I already have both BEOPLAYS (EQ and EX) but I want another pair for when I’m out and about on the go sound quality only? 1)Bowers and Wilkins P.I. 7 2)Technics A-60 3)Masters and Dynamics MW08 4)Sennheisser TW3
I love the lively and airy sound of the Bose Sport Earbuds but the MTW3 have a more refined and mature sound all together. I never did a real A/B test with the two buds though…
There is a new firmware 2.6.8 that addressed some issue for me like seemingly one ear bud sounded like it cut out and also ANC setting when changed in the app not always applying. I understand about the ANC modes but I prefer the simplistic on and off with the touch controls. I guess Sennheiser could do for example... Tap 3 Off Tap 3 Anti Wind Tap 3 On I never use Anti wind personally. Now... What I would like is a slider for ANC in the app so that I can adjust my own level of ANC and have more control over it for my requirements. I also still get a slight issue with ANC delay like for example moving from a train on to a noisy platform or from a quite area on to the street. I can momentarily hear the noise and then the ANC kicks in. Even though the ear buds don't fit so far into the canal I found no difference to ANC or Passive noise reduction and sound but I think this will depend on the shape of your ear canals and tips you use. I find them much more comfortable than my MTW2. I'm getting used to the design, it's growing on me although when I first saw them I could instantly see where Sennheiser compromised to bring the price down. It doesn't bother me so much now. Sound wise. I found the MTW3 softer but the level of detail for me far exceeds the MTW2 and the Bass Boost is excellent for a good jam session. Battery life is the winner for me though. My MTW2 Battery life was my biggest purchase regret, with high end sound tuning and ANC on I got around 3hrs. MTW3 your figures are spot on. Great review!
@@AndysTechTone Ah yes, thanks - the small issue with MTW3s volume control seems to be that they locked it to the long-press input for some reason. i.e. you can remap long-press, but you can't assign volume controls to anything else (which is weird).
Bought it a month ago. Compared to Sony WF-1000XM4, the sound quality is miles ahead. But Sony is still the ANC king. The foam earbuds will make the Sennheiser to Sony's level ANC.

@@AndysTechTone thanks Andy
@@BrianVallotton hi Brian . Is it worth to get MTW 3 for sound aspect ? ( By the way i already own MTW 2 )
Guidance will be much appreciated
@@Docdesigner94 Hi Rain, Yes I do believe that the MTW3s are worth it for the sound aspect. I believe that they are the best sounding earbuds out right now. The bass response is great and they do not sound harsh or muddy at all. They also fit better than most other brands. All in all a great set of earbuds! I hope this helps. I would recommend them to anyone.
@@BrianVallotton thanks a lot Brian .
So you recommend an upgrade from mtw 2 to mtw 3
Sennheiser MTW3 or Technics AZ60 for sound quality? What are the differences between them in sound?
A comparison video is coming
Bose sport earbuds or momentum 3 in terms of sound quality? Thanks, nice vid btw.
If you want more bass, MTW3. If you want a more airy and “fun” sound, Bose Sport.
@@AndysTechTone wow, thanks for the quick reply.
Thanks for this informative test the best in here👍 i agree what earbud du you use?....i have trouble when switch from other earbuds the tw3 volume starts at max power😡😡😡😡💣🎧
Wonderer if it is my lg v40 issue!!🤔
I never had that issue on any of my phones so your V40 could be responsible for the problems you have. I used Comply Premium foam tips if that’s what you’re asking
Yes thanks👍
A bit buggy but overall it is ok. Great sound
Had to return my first pair.
Thanks. I know what you mean but the second gen Airpods Pros are worthy of a comparison
I ought these and use a different set of silicon tips that are bigger and they work
Awesome! I don’t like Senns ear tips
I'm listening to this video you posted with this headphone right now ☺️ when the comments are over...
My Momentum 3's will be here tomorrow. My primary cause for getting them was comfort and sound. Are you happy with yours?
Rock on!
@@BrianVallotton absolutely great🙌
Great review, thanks! I was wondering if you might add a link or description of the 3rd party foam tips you are using? Many thanks and Blessings!
Funny you should ask as I just realised that actually I’ve been using the original XM4 foam tips with the MTW3 instead of the Comply tips I originally got to replace the Sony tips on the XM4… 😳
I’m working on a comparison video which includes the XM4 and during the tests I noticed that something was off 🤔
Can you share the memory foam tips that you have mentioned, and can we use foam tips which can also be used with momentum 2s?
Comply Premium memory foam tips. Made for the XM4 originally I guess but works on the MTW3 just as well apparently 😎
@@AndysTechTone thanks, but only drawback is that you have to keep changing these tips, specially for me who have very sweaty and sticky ears 😂
where can one buy those memory foam tips?
How secure is the fit compared with the Sony LinkBuds S and Jabra Elite Active 7?
The Jabra buds are super snug in my ears. I’ve never used the Linkbuds S though
Great review. Much appreciated!
Thanks 🙏
Can you link those foam eartips ? I’m having the same issue with the tips, the ANC isn’t really working for me atm with the standard tips.
I have same issue
These are always the best reviews!!
Thanks man 😎
Whats the loudest buds u know of under £100
Would love to know ur opinion....l love loud dnb music louder the better
When I started using true wireless earbuds sound quality was #1. Over time that changed to fit and comfort it's disappointing when certain earbuds just don't cooperate with our ears but like you said that's just the way it is. I'm glad you brought up trying to solve all of the shortcomings with software instead of designing the earbuds better physically I understand that point and thank you for making it. I love your reviews just excellent work. 👍🇺🇸💯
Thank you Mike, it's always great reading your comments👍
Your evaluations grows in me like my tendencies to put more garlic in every meal with meatball or hamburgers or fried chicken ❗👊🏻🎧
I have tried out some foam tips on my mtw3's as well and can also tell a difference between sound quality due to the improved seal especially when it comes to bass.
I might buy a few sets for myself to experiment with different eartips in the future
@@AndysTechTone cool maybe you should make a video on which are the best.
Maybe I will 🤔
@@AndysTechTone yes!!
It's not a problem to change them while in warranty but what after that 😢
Sound and use is great while they work but is it worth it for a year or less?
NOT RECOMMENDED
Regarding the wind canceling point, it does make sanse to me.
Hey..I just want know if Sennheiser momentum 3 support 3d audio effect like spatial audio(airpod) and Sony reality 360 audio..???
I've been using the jabra 85t for several months and loved them, but recently got the sennheiser MTW3, and the sound is way more clear but also I noticed it also slightly bright, do u think that I just got used to the jabras and need time to adjust, because I can definitely tell that the sennheiser is probably what the music should sound like?
The MTW3 is definitely more open and detailed with better treble extension. If it’s too bright for you, try some EQing.
Thanks
WOW! Thank you man, your support and kindness mean a lot 😃
Your reviews are awesome bro!
Thank you!
Glad you think so man 😊 thanks for watching 👍
You’re not alone!
Liked the little fin that made a snug, but comfortable fit. But kept disconnecting from my Ipad Air ("Connected, Not Connected"), almost every time despite multiple resets. And I thought volume , and max volume, could be louder. So they went back, and the search continues.. Still using my Raycons (only the Left works).
sorry to hear your troubles
Somehow I do not see the ANC setting in the app. And my transparency mode do not have the slider. I’m using iPhone, maybe the app is different for android?
Update: you’re right, my iOS was not updated so momentum 3 firmware update didn’t work.
The two apps are the same so you should check if all softwares are up to date or not (including iOS itself, the Sennheiser app and the firmware of the buds)
Or maybe you just removed it from the main menu by accident using the custom tiles in the settings menu
Great review my friend, thanks.👍🏿💯
Glad you think so, thanks for watching 👍
@@AndysTechTone Absolutely. You really go in depth on your research for the products you review. I appreciate that. I like the comparison videos as well. I subscribed off this video alone. Thanks again and keep up the great work.
Andy try little longer silicone eartips sony ep-ex10a which I already using for sennheiser momentum 2, also using spinfit cp360 v2 (version two) with medical silicon with anti-slip attribute 🙂
Thanks I’ll have a look at it 👍
Hey man so my 3s when I put them in my ears didn't sound loud and bass wasn't good then later all sudden it kicked in and sounded good but ur roght it doesn't fit great in my ears.
Yeah, I accidentally ended up using the foam tips that came with the Sony WF1000-XM4 but Comply foam tips are supposed be just as good
How do these Sennheisser Truly Wireless Momentum 3’s measure up against the new BEOPLAY EX truly wireless earbuds in sound?
I don’t know as I’ve never had a chance to use and test the EX unfortunately

Have the xm4 buds, just returned the jabra active elite 7s. I've always struggled to get a comfortable fit with the xm4s and they're a bit cumbersome for the gym. Would like great audio quality for my gym buds, was tempted the the az60 but there's a lot of people having comfort issues so was looking at these. And now your (as always very thorough and considered) review has put me off......
These are perfectly capable as gym earbuds even with the silicone tips.
@@AndysTechTone and now you bring me back in 😀
@i can't find a name have had the left ear bud issue with the jabra active 7s, so wasn't keen on going back to jabra, but maybe that could be a good shout. Decent anc is always helpful in the gym
😁
I just returned the Jabra Elite 7's myself. I found them to be too tight in my ears. I liked everything else about them. I also had the XM4's and could not get them to be comfortable no matter what ear tips I used. It was a shame because like the Jabra's I did like everything else about them! If they don't feel good in your ears what good is all the other features!

Had same question
Hi sir.. which sound is better momentim3 or bose sport earbud?
I love the lively and airy sound of the Bose Sport Earbuds but the MTW3 have a more refined and mature sound all together. I never did a real A/B test with the two buds though…
@@AndysTechTone if you had to choice for just sound which one pick up and prefer? :)
@@ardlishahlinaardli9031 my pick would be the Bose for having more fun
@@AndysTechTone you mean any bose earbuds? May i know which sport earbud most ur like for this year?
@@ardlishahlinaardli9031 we were talking about the Bose Sport Earbuds
There is a new firmware 2.6.8 that addressed some issue for me like seemingly one ear bud sounded like it cut out and also ANC setting when changed in the app not always applying.
I understand about the ANC modes but I prefer the simplistic on and off with the touch controls. I guess Sennheiser could do for example...
Tap 3 Off
Tap 3 Anti Wind
Tap 3 On
I never use Anti wind personally.
Going to check that new firmware out 👍
@@AndysTechTone look forward to a follow up man 😁
Did I get that right that the Momentum 3 do not have volume controls on the buds?
The MTW3 do have volume controls, it all depends on your custom settings in the app.
@@AndysTechTone Ah yes, thanks - the small issue with MTW3s volume control seems to be that they locked it to the long-press input for some reason. i.e. you can remap long-press, but you can't assign volume controls to anything else (which is weird).
@@urbantwilight I wish you could freely reassign it to any other action too but it works as it is

No. It was already fixed last gen with the MTW2.

Glad you liked it, thanks for watching 😊
Bought it a month ago. Compared to Sony WF-1000XM4, the sound quality is miles ahead. But Sony is still the ANC king. The foam earbuds will make the Sennheiser to Sony's level ANC.
