I had 2007 (1.5cc) Swift and enjoyed every moment of it. I bet this new model must be much much better than the old model. Unfortunately Malaysia doesn't bring in Suzuki models anymore...
A turbo is just one more thing that can break in a car. If you want your car to last you as long as possible, choose the naturally aspirated engine. Carefree driving experience
Well I feel validated. Love my little 2017 Swift (Navigator Plus), and I'm still delighted by the incredible deal I got - bought it new (hail-damaged ex-demo) for $15k drive away.
Note to readers not mentioned is that both the 1.0 and 1.4 turbo variants need the expensive and harder to find PULP. The 1.2 runs on cheaper available everywhere ULP. the latter will probably save around 10c per litre and combined with the better economy than the 1.4 turbo will save heaps.
I own both the 2020 original, as well as the 2021 'facelift' update. Both are 'GLX Turbo'. Both have same 'Bridgestone Ecopia' tyres. However the original 2020 pre-facelift model is noticably quieter in the cabin and for the life of me I can not work out why!?
Hi Peter. Great review of a cool little car. I love small cars, don't like the current SUV craze and hate dual cab utes. But then I am a grumpy old man. Question unrelated to the Swift. Did you buy a Fiesta ST?
The biggest thing for me at least is because I live in Queensland the P plate driving restrictions are insane like your not allowed to drive a turbocharged petrol engine on your P plates and because I'm looking at the swift as one of the options for my first car the 1.2 is the only option for me 😭 and yes i do 100 percent agree with you about the turbo being better and I wish I could buy it I am glad that people think it's just as good
Great review Mate, You were spot on in my opinion and nicely presented. I test drove a number of cars including the Kia Picanto. I bought a Suzuki Swift Navi Plus 2021. The car is only for my miss daisy wife to travel to the shops, bowls club and back. I Couldn’t justify a GLX Turbo although I am sure it will suit the younger car drivers.
Like the review i own a 2019 1.2 attitude in same colour , its not hybrid , just a aspirated petrol , it a fun , reliable , Great on a b road little hatchback, and doesn't cost the earth to run , 😊
Thank you for the great review. Can you please advise if this will be okay to drive on hilly roads in Sydney? Like sometimes you have to slow down due to traffic on hills and then it starts to roll down pretty quickly. I know we can hold the break but then the time it takes to accelerate it on hills will be quite more since the navigator plus has such a small torque. Thanks
Hi Expert (Peter), great review, I have a Dec 2020 GL Navigator Plus, first off I love it, its perfect for what I wanted BUT I have a Question about 1 of the safety features - "lane departure warning", the indicator lights work just fine but the steering wheel "shutter" is not working. I have talked to the Dealer and they confirm that "shutter" is not working and are now telling me that this feature is not install on all of these Car (sounds like a load of Sh.t to me). Suzuki will not talk to me and only say to talk to the Dealer !! so can you confirm if this "Standard feature" is Standard on this car ? thanks
I would agree. There are more features in the GLX Turbo. I think it has a great upgrade in the stereo system, air con has enviro controls, cruise control, the interior has trim, leather steering wheel , disc brake, alloy rims and a few more items
Wow..Can't wait for the ultralight weight 1 star safety rated version of this model with an increased mileage for India and other developing markets!!! Maruti-Suzuki ..Where fuel efficiency matters more than human lives👍

It looks a nice car its a shame its made of tin foil. If you crash in this you will become part of the crumple zone. Have you ever you ever pushed down on the fiesta 2010 bonnet and your hand dents the flimsy metal ?. Well the swift and baleno are like around 90% of the car. I love suzuki but now they have dissapointed me.
why does suzuki indonesia not bring it to indonesia market.? i really dont understand the way of thinking suzuki indonesia. suzuki indo even sell baleno hatchback to replace swift. what a garbage car with an odd model.🙄
I’ve owned many cars over forty four years. My favourite two cars have been the Peugeot 106XSI and a 2017 Suzuki GL. They run so well, are easy to park in small spaces, great for medium to shorter journeys, and are easy on the eye. I hate driving super long distances so these cars were perfect for me. The Suzuki (which I still own) is far more economical to run than the Peugeot, so I would rate it higher than the Peugeot.
Your the first person I have seen talking about servicing costs. Most reviewers don’t include this info so thankyou for that.
We can’t lose these type of cars, we’ve lost the large sedan and station wagons (exception Superb, Passat, Camry, Stinger)

The suzuki requires 95 in all models. The mazda 2 does not.

With groceries price nowadays you don't need a big space...we can't compare kia and Suzuki..the reliability level is huge...

If they made this car an suv it would go really popular
As far as i know it shares the platform with the ignis

If you are a bachelor, you should get one. You'll love it
Curious that it's not so popular in Australia. It's a top 10 seller in NZ.
I've seen more of them recently. I'm in Melbourne. I've noticed that a couple were driven by people aged about 60: one a man and the other a woman!

And re the Sub $20,000 sector. We do it at our peril.
Now in mid 2023 base model auto is $26k drive-away…
Please show Baleno also
