  • So good to be back Home down in the south island of New Zealand chasing some big ol Giant Canal trout. more success was found Fly fishing the edges and a good trip over all was had landing some truly giant fish.     Your videos are great to watch! You seem to be a very experienced fly fisherman and how you know when to change up flies. I truly appreciate the care of how you treat the fish for release. They all look very healthy while swimming off.

    Hi Gareth great video and was cool to meet u on the Thursday down further and recognizing the tap of the rod only it was the spin rod and not the fly rod . And you were right bloody crazy Thursday morning

    Love Twizel. A few years ago met a couple of brothers who let myself and some members of the Bendigo and District Flyfishing Club stay in their Batch on Lyford Lane. Bloody good guys and great place. Heading over the ditch again in November hitting Mossburn area again.

    Loving the look of the new camera. Man those trout are just incredible. Are you sight fishing to them or just know where they hold? This section was closed when were there but there must be other spots? We couldn't spot any fish in the canals we tried only on the lake edge in the end. Looking forward to the river footage!

    Queation: that canal seems to be quite deep. Yet you fish approx 4 feet below syrface. How do you guess the deep you atre offering your bait?

    You love those Twizel canals don't you? But sometimes it's more fun to try somewhere different like Lake mahinerangi or try Loganburn Reservoir with a Cicada in the middle of summer.

      @@TroutHuntingNZ if go to Loganburn Reservoir in summer make sure you check the wind forecast it blows like nothing else up there my favourite spot is the sheltered little bay where you cross apart of it on your way towards the dam end. Oh do you have twitter by any chance.

      Fish and game tag fish that are trapped in parts of a close by river and release into canal. The tag is to monitor if the program is worth it

      Yeah they are recaptured from a river that drys up and released in the canal.
