The best part about this channel is that just as darkness really sets in here in Sweden (soon we're looking at 6 hours of daylight per day were I live) spring is just starting in NZ, so I can live vicariously through you! Thanks for the vids G.
Excellent trip. I love the smaller creeks and springs. I'm surrounded by blue ribbon fisheries here in Idaho, but New Zealand is a class of its own. I will be there in 3 months for work. It's just too bad I'll need to call in sick for a lot of those days.
Great looking fish. I'm a bit confused on the release of that last brown though. You appear to be releasing it with the fly still in its jaw. At 23:54 it's clearly visible in the fish's mouth and then again at 23:56. Am I wrong?
Yeah buddy you are possibly wrong. I have no clue what it is but if you look closely there is no leader attached to the fly. Maybe it was a past fly or he couldn't get it out who knows.
Hi Gareth, that’s quite a bash to the river! Hate swamps, too many Taniwha. Glad to hear that you are still guiding and getting around. Really enjoyed this episode as you did more talking to yourself and I had a chance to place myself into your boots. That was a good example of trout hunting done Kiwi style. Cold ice water shrinks your nuts! Cheers mate. Harera
Great to meet you the other day Gareth . Yep water was real cold that day , being old and wise worn my waders . Managed to score a few fish but none to the dry , maybe a month or two will fix that . Liked your latest camping video , as per the old saying its not all about catching fish . Keep up the good work Cheers Chris Y
Great video, and a great looking creek. I definitely need to get into some browns next time I’m in New Zealand. Being South African I may keep out for a while.
We don't hold a grudge against the Proteas. The ref and TMO though!!!! That's another matter.😢 Getting my cricket mixed up with rugby union🤣. Springboks played well.
Your tiny creek is a very decent river by UK standards! I figure the blackberries are probably our fault but so are the trout so swings and roundabouts…
Hell yea! I click your videos faster then a crack head taking a fresh g that’s strung out lol love you content it’s so addicting and I wish to one day fish these waters for these trophy trout. I live in Vermont and go to New York palaski or Oswego for some nice trout my biggest being 16 lbs brown trout 34 inch! And that rug is a drug!!! Tight lines!

Glad your back and it's Spring again. Thanks for you content.
Very nice fish and some beautiful water. A little bush whacking can get you into some good places.
Bush crashing with the rod built? Keen man!!

The waiting was worth it, have a great season keep up the gym workouts, makes tramping easier.

Regardless of the result, there was some great rugby played at the World Cup.
Another excellent day on a beautiful river
23:46 missed a fly in that one's mouth aye 😄probably not yours, but would've been nice to get it out!
Nice looking stream. I use pruning sheers to cut my way through black berry and the like
Great work Gareth and nice to see you in amongst it on water relatively skinny water - and some lovely camera work as usual.
Hello Gareth, nice video, beautiful fish, magical clean and untouched nature - where is this place? Thanks.

Another great video mate, where do you get your streamers from?
That were a nice couple of browns, Gareth.
I suggest you add a jungle machete to your outdoor equipment as well. 😉
Great looking spot, hard bush bashing though. I thought you’d taken some speed . Lol.

Very nice GB! Look forward to more posts. Is the bro gunna star this year? Paul
Couldn't agree with you more about the black berries.
I'm sure they fed alot of early inhabitants but bloody hell they owe me alot of waders
Fish ID on point lol

Noice Bro. Any chance of a vid featuring some Dazza-Conder? We're missing the banter down here.
