I grew up in the area that Rich is from and one day when I was about 15 (in the 80's)our paths crossed when our old farm truck broke down three miles from our farm. I started walking back when Rich stopped and offered me a ride back to the farm. It wasn't long but we had a nice chat on the way, and he told me he was happy to help out and wished us well with the truck. I remember being impressed, not with just his size, but with his kindness. A couple of months later I ran into him again in the local mall. I was playing table soccer, and ask if he would play a game with me. He remembered who I was and graciously took me up on the game. It didn't take him long to beat me as he was amazingly quick on the sticks, but the whole time he was smiling and giving me pointers. I realize what a legend he is in arm wrestling, but how he treated a skinny no-account kid just after he had won his first couple of titles shows how big one can get as a man. That was 35 years ago and I still see him as an amazing human being and someone who influenced me to see and treat others as important than myself.
I was a front desk worker in college at the gym he made his comeback at in 2006 and 2007. He was the kindest man I had ever come across. He let me train with him. He knew I was dirt poor, making about $6.00 an hour at the time and so him and his wife brought in two garbage bags full of protein tubs. Honestly, probably $300-$400 worth of protein and gave it to me. He knew I had potential in strength sports and he knew I was poor and he did that without me ever asking him to. Incredibly kind man. Him and his wife were nothing short of wonderful. This was in Worthington by the way.
It's because you think you're nothing. He's a real man who treats everyone the same.

Considering the fact that Richard already gave Denis a run for his money in 2011, I don't think he would have much trouble kicking Denis' ass if he were 30 years younger. What I'd love to see is 1988 Lupkes vs. 2019 Levan. Now THAT would be one hellva match!

@@StevenRayWyou could be perfectly right, but in defense of denis those years were not his best ones (also liliev gave him some troubles), he reached his prime, both phisically and technically, some years later
Thing with richard, he did the podcast thing with niel pickup and talked about tearing his bicep. The doctors fixed it and said he would only have about 40% power with it. And he still gave denis that good of a fight with 40% power

Test is a wonderous thing. If properly regulated it can lead to longevity, however to maintain 140 kg at 65 years of age, I would start to feel concern about the dose he must be taking.

It simply looks to me like a seated press machine, although it does look like it could be an incline bench press. My advice to you is to just spend the time in the gym with dumbbells or barbells making yourself stronger and the best that you can be. Good luck to you.

@Andrei Andrei2 Of course he won against Pushkar....when he was obviously in his absolute prime back in 2012.Cyplenkov faced the weakest version ever of Larrat back in 2018 when he had surgery and wasn't heavy enough.
Pushkar was weak on his left in 2011. He had no technic at all. Prime pushkar would destroy prime Larrat. 2018 Denis would also destroy prime Larrat.
