Trying desperately to keep my family's vacation home intact for us but not spoiled by renters. Property taxes are through the roof so our hand is almost forced. :(
I spent my summers there and I remember the sentiment about fudgies was kind of a love/hate thing. I'm hoping by helping my mom keep this place rented that she can pay those taxes and upkeep bills and my own family inherits it one day. This cabin attracts small groups -- never over 6 people. My mom has never in all these years received renter complaints. Other places though that sleep more can attract the boisterous crowds that have the neighbors trying for those AirBnB restrictions, which unfortunately would hurt my mom's business. It's all a tough balance! It's hard for the middle class to afford a place on the water anymore.

I have heard Bull sharks will go up the Mississippi River up to the Great Lakes.
My brother tried hard after Jaws the movie that there were sharks there. Nope! 😂
