This was pretty helpful, and was definitely a needed tutorial. With there being virtually no Maya to source workflow tutorials, this was a godsend. Thanks - Crispy_Bongo
Honestly, I prefer the Blender SourceOPS addon for blender It automatically generate everything from blender itself. it's significantly faster, but it is a tad bit more limited. it's best for making static or physics props.
Great video man! I have a problem where im trying to create a house model where you can enter trough door frame, but collision model blocks it off even if i leave the space for door frame. Any advice? Thanks
make sure its all convex shapes if you want a concave collision model. Also, make sure you apply all transforms. Check your collision model inside of hlmv for more info
@@Alexscott20 Well tbh I really wanted to edit those l4d2 military & ceda banners, posters & sign materials & models with my ideas or maybe even my future l4d2 content including gmod
@@Alexscott20 Yes you showed us how to make a VTF file but what do i neen to script inside the VMT file ? exept $VertexLiGeneretic... I mean the location of the materials in VMT.
Definitely adding this to my list of things I shouldn't forget under any circumstances

Can you make a video tutorial on how to BSP into MDL?
sorry, probably not. BSP's are very complex and models have limits

How do I add another skin to an existing source engine model for example I wanted to edit those ceda banners from l4d2, is it possible?
yes you just have to decompile the model and then add the skins to the qc file
