Got this as a gift and actually works great. Setup was super simple (took about 3 mins) and worked great. You can only control it from the APP, not online via the web. Perfect for what i needed it for.
I have several of these all over the house and they work great. All are connected to Alexa. Its great to give a voice command to turn on/off lights, radio, etc. Lazy becomes me.
Thanks for the vid. I added my 2nd WeMo today. I have one on a schedule to turn on the living room lights on before my partner gets up and after he leaves for work...SIMPLE. The 2nd is just to turn a bedroom light on and off thrue Alexa.
Hi, Can i use IFTTT or the Scheduling feature of this Smart Plug to turn ON or OFF our Refrigerator as per the High - Mid - Low peak hours of the day to save electricity ? Meaning 7am to 11am i want the plug to remain OFF. Then from 11am to 5pm i want it to stay ON. Then from 5pm to 7pm i want it to stay OFF again. Then from 7pm to 7am i want it to remain ON again.
Correct you can do it that way I have TTT is really good if you wanted to have something trigger turning on or off the switch such as this action happens switch turns off.

It a horrible plug i connected it to my nest thermostat and the away and home mode is crap..the app is laggy. My Nest thermostat app works flawless.. this app that has trouble connecting makes no sense and is confusing as hell with basic instructions. I'm glad I only paid 12 for it new
Also compatible with Google Home. You have to make the Google Home app find the devices as described here: www.belkin.com/us/support-article?articleNum=224185 Finding that information is surprisingly difficult via Google search.
Yes, but I only recently got a Google Home mini. So at the time could only speak to the Amazon echo family of devices. With that said yes the pairing of the Wemo switch was a little odd compared to the echo.
Yes it took me (degree in Computer Science) quite a bit of digging through the FAQ and Troubleshooting to get it to work (ironically with a TP-Link WiFi Router). But I must admit that changing my router settings slightly did fix the issue. It really only works on 2.4GHz WiFi, not 5GHz. I also go it cheap at Costco. After I changed my router and got one working, the others were a breeze. Not sure I would highly recommend it, but they do work and are useful to me.
The setup on this plug is god awful. Anytime you have an outage you have to reinstall it. I'm really good at following the instructions and could not get it to work on one of my plugs. Simple solution I tossed the plugs in the trash and ordered new plugs from Amazon. The new plugs took less than 15 minutes to install. The answer to this plug is throw it in the trash and get another plug.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews I spent a half a day trying to get the plug to work. The new plugs installed in less than 15 minutes. The new plugs were 18 dollars including everything on Amazon. My new rule. If a plug does not work within 15 minutes it's an amazon return. My best advice is in looking for a plug, read the setup reviews and make sure it's UL rated.
these plugs are utter garbage, half the time they don't work or have setup issues - the new one is that you are forced to use iPhone HomeKit whatever that is

I have gotten fare to used to having things like this in place that when I travel I am lost without my voice commands.
The Wemo Mini Smartplug is terrible. Have tried to get this to work as designed. Keeps failing. Very techie Davy and have tried everything.

how about 220v here in the ph
thank you for telling me how to use it with my echo

You really wouldn't need to use IFTTT for this you could just use a schedule which can be done from the app itself.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews You mean multiple scheduling for every single week-day and also keeping it always ON for the Weekends ?

@@Wanderer001_Reviews They all cost almost the same here at Best Buy Canada.,, So money not a problem.
can you control the switch/appliances from the Internet, outside of your wifi ?
You can control it from the app outside your wifi. I use it to turn on my AC while I am at work.
Will this work on a google home mini?
Yes it will.
@@Wanderer001_Reviews thank god😊
I have successfully set up 2 of these now and I still couldn't tell you how I did it. The worst smart home set up ever.
Will this work with an Android phone?
Yes I use an android phone.
Won't work. Don't waste your time. Belkin fail for Android.
Personally I like tp-link better
Yes. I have an LG G7. No prob.
Daniel Vince ......yes, My wemo mini only worked for few hours, then the app said the decives not detected,!, So I returned wemo plugs back to Costco.

Had we moved for years they suck there app ain't worth a damn and it gets confused on what lights are on and off it's junk
I like tp link better.
Today I got it for $10 from Amazon 😀
Nice
1 hour, I give up. Worst set up app ever. Returning tonight. This is why Costco had it rebated. Bye Bye Belkin.

Wemo was not my favorite smart plug. It is one of only a few that works with Apple Homekit.

If this is the future of Belkin products don't buy any of them
Garbage. Get an Amazon smart plug instead.

I like TP link plugs over Wemo for that very reason.
