I used to live in Los Lunas, on a 13 acre farm on Main Street just west of the river. In those days there was nothing west of I-25, and Route 6 would take us to my dad’s gas station out on Route 66. My brother and I used to climb up and around the volcano hunting for jack rabbits. In those days people didn’t cycle much, between goat head stickers and the glass from broken beer bottles, you couldn’t get very far.
Being from north Idaho (lots of snow) i took my salsa Mukluk to St. George, UT (after watching your channel) for thanksgiving break. It was so fun riding on the petrified sand dunes. I hardly ride me full suspension 29er anymore. Great videos, keep it up!
You do inspired me about fat biking. Im from Chicago and doing it during winter. I was able to do fat biking in Arizona this year in Clearwater and Sedona. It was an awesome experience.
This is a valuable channel. Do a search about Fat Bikes and you seem to get stuck with snow riding. I am interested in trail/desert riding, and that is what you offer.
Thank you, that’s part what we are hoping to do. Help people to shift their thinking. Fat bikes are not just for snow. But they are the Jeeps of the bike world. A true all terrain mountain bike. Fat bikes have been our go to bike for most of our riding these days. And you can always put in a smaller tire/ wheel set into your frame if you felt the need to do so. And todays higher end fat bikes are light and very nimble. Hope you find one that suits you. Enjoy your ride. 👍
Hey folks, Los Lunas native here. Mountain biking, unfortunately, is not allowed on these trails. I wish it was and it was cool to see how great these trails could be for us folks who want a local place to ride, but stick to the bosque trails or head up to Albuquerque to stay legal.
Yeah, thats a negative on your disinformation sir. These trails are open to non-motorized traffic. Please remember trail right of way (all yield to horses, bikes to pedestrians, and safely overtake when conditions allow). Fat tires are recommended as thinner tires rut and accelerate erosion. 👍🏻
Lots of great climbing. This was a rare time when the wind noise wasn’t completely overwhelming on the natural audio (which is usually the situation) So we left this one natural for a change.
@@Casitascrawlers Funny, 30 yrs is a long time. But we’ve got you beat. We’ve been mountain biking since when mtbs were just old road bikes with some nobby tires thrown on them back in the 80’s. Once you try a nice one of these, you’ll understand the evolution of true all terrain mountain bikes. Go anywhere with minimum impact on the land. Don’t get me wrong we own pretty much every type of bike there is but these are our overall choice for our extreme ever changing desert terrain.
@@NewMexicoOutside My bikes where both over $10,000 thousand dollars a Yeti SB lunch ride & Devinci Troy custom picked all my parts I’ve raced & build bikes myself those are fat bikes & on our rocky trails they would fall apart. 😂

It’s a neat place. They’ve e cleaned up this area quite a bit.
I rip my dirt bike out there!

Очень красиво 👍👍👍
👍👍
It's much better without any music. Thank you.
It’s tough to get decent audio without lots of wind noise muddying up everything.
Wish you were in Arizona. Would definitely love to ride with you guys. Fat for life 🤙🏼
Incredible views ! Must be hard to stay focused on the line
It’s a beautiful place. Have to remind ourselves to stop and soak in the landscape.

wow💗💗💗
Seemed more challenging than most with steep climbs and big rocks.
I must say though, that I miss the excellent music you always select.

Can I give you some tips to grow your youtube channel
The downside to Fat Tire bike 🚲 is that the tubes and tires are way more expensive than regular bicycles
Not really. Tires are comparable to skinny tires if you shop around. And I don’t know anyone who uses tubes in our group. Tubeless is the way to go.
@@NewMexicoOutside name a good and cheap place to buy Puncture Resistant Fat Tires and I'll get me a Fat Tire E-Bike!
I’ve been a mountain biker for over 30 years & these are not mountain bikes period.

@@jamesofallthings3684 Science. It’s pretty simple. Go learn some things.
