    This is not called inverter oversizing, it's pv oversizing.

    Short, sweet and clear description of oversizing.

    If I install a 10Kw inverter with 5kw panels would that work ok ? I want to be ready for future needs...

    Oversize everything except voltage

    Oversizing or undersizing(supercharged) inverter? The only time that oversizing the inverter is a good idea is when the customer plans to add capacity in the future.

    I like to go 30% over on panels to inverter if theres plenty of room for the extra panels!

    Interesting. I have seen recommendations to have slightly more panels than the inverter capacity. Simply, that it will be vary rare (not possible) to hit the panel capacity and the inverters will simply cap the feed. Perhaps, this doesn't work in Australia since 10 kW of panels may actually generate 10 kW due to high intense sun?

    Will there be risk on a sunny day when 120% is actually absorbed by the solar panel?
    My inverter has a built in solar charge controller.

    It would of been nice if he stated this explanation is for a grid tie inverter, because none of it made sense if it isn't. for example, solar panels supply a charge controller the charge controller supplies DC to a battery the inverter is then connected to that battery to supply AC to appliances, in a battery system the inverter does not connect to panels it connects to a battery.

    Hello, first of all great content. I have 36kw of solar panels, ground installation. It must be limited on 23kw cause that will be max grid will accept. I 'm in dillema of choosing inverter between 25kw SMA or some 30 or 33kw Huawei. I'm closer with SMA cause they are more premium brand but i have concern about power. They do not offer anything between 25 and 50.

      …Google is telling me SMA inverters can be link in parallel together…so could do a 25kw + a smaller one .???

    Hi guys
    My solar installers have done the opposite of this
    They've installed a 10kw 3 phase sungrow inverter
    And 24 370watt Canadian split cell panels totalling 8800 Watts
    What's the best way to sorry this out?
    Please advise it will be greatly appreciated

    • @artemca
      @artemca 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is obvious, to install at least 3 more panels to have at least 10000 Watts :). Or if 8800 Watts enough for you - just do not care.

    If oversizing isnt dangerous why do Fronius and MPPSOLAR quote PV watt limits and Growatt too! A 5KW Fronius says 7500W is the PV Watt limit, MPP depends on the units but some are 4500W. As the solar panels don't push the inverter, but pulls power out of the panels thus the MPPT will adjust itself to get the most power out; so if someone had 9000W of panels and the sun is in ideal position to allow 8-9KW to be delivered to the inverter, MPPT would want to get the most amps/volts thus power out of the panels? Seems there is a rule of thumb of 133% oversizing but not more????

    • @gardelelectricalsolar7622
      @gardelelectricalsolar7622  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's correct, 133% is the cap for oversizing. Which is why 6.6kw panels is commonly paired with 5kw inverter. Thanks for the question :)

    Good vid! But..I have a silly doubt... I understand . feed in system and I the blackout (after sunset till sunshine). My question is;
    What will happen when the power grid is completely off due to a earthquake.? How the inverter functions when at 11 am clear skies,?
    I mean, in case the Nation's power grid isn't accepting "feed in" due to a natural disaster how the inverter will behave?

    • @darwinjina

      most systems are grid dependent. if the grid is down, then your array is down even if it is sunny.

    Hello, If on my inverter (3.5kva) is listed 5000 maximum imput power, can I put more than 5000watts pv array or it will damage the inverter?
    Thank you

    • @gardelelectricalsolar7622
      @gardelelectricalsolar7622  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the question! It is not recommended to put more than the maximum input power listed on an inverter. It could cause damage and would likely cause your system to shut off from overvoltage, so it's not worthwhile.

    Thanks for the good video, I do still have a question that is in reverse of this video (undersizing solar inverter?), let's say I want to think about the future and get a 3kw solar inverter but I only add 500 watt solar panels for example. Would this cause problems with the efficiency the system is working on?

    • @gardelelectricalsolar7622
      @gardelelectricalsolar7622  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Realistically you could do this. It just isn't the most cost-effective option, giving you only pay marginally more when adding more panels as you're paying a company for the installation costs anyway. Adding more panels at a later date will come at an additional cost.

    • @_JustBeingCasual
      @_JustBeingCasual ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gardelelectricalsolar7622 i was thinking about creating a small solar system om my balcony, so I do not have too much space and watts to work with at this point; one micro inverter cost like 200 and I can get a normal inverter 3000 watt for 300; hence the question but I guess the easiest way to go at this point is just to use a micro inverter. Might be better for smaller systems anyways
