    I have worked with signature solar to install a 6000xp inverter into my existing solar array. Support was spot on and made the process a breeze.

    Great video! Anyone even thinking about solar, but confused about all of the different inverter choices, should watch this at least a couple of times! :)

    Hey boss. These are just the calculations I needed. Thanks for the explanation! I’m building a larger electrical mobile unit out of an enclosed trailer I’ve converted to be powered by the 6000xp with 10.2kwh server no alternator charge tied. My biggest question is grounding the system in a mobile application with no grid tie. Is grounding to the frame fine because of wood blocks and rubber tires. Or do I need to tie the ground to a rod at every location. I’m worried times I’ll be around pavement only. Thanks again boss!!

    With the hybrid inverter, can it prevent power from going back to the grid? I’m wary of the implications of being a micro generator power station but still want grid power as required while I expand.

      Yes, it is capable of this.

    When will the 6000XP have grid tie capability? Are you just waiting on UL approval?

      @jamesshowalter6362 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      it is not intended to sell. it is UL already

      The 18kPV is a hybrid and has grid tie abilities!

      @@SignatureSolar well this 6000XP has grid tie abilities too, you just don't have them accessible with your software...we know it can limit export, the question is when will you include the CT's so we can tie it to grid?

      Check out Will Prowse's video where he compares the 6000XP to their 18kPV. Here is his You Tube title: EG4 Offgrid VS Hybrid Inverters! Which one is better for the $$$?! 6000XP VS 18kPV th-cam.com/video/44qCk0pQar8/w-d-xo.html He lays out an excellent comparison and gives a good argument on the value of spending the extra for the 18kPV.
      I recently completed my system using a 6000XP and four EG4-LifePower4 48V batteries and I'm very happy. I also installed a Reliance Controls 10 circuit Transfer Switch, I run my 6000XP output to the Reliance input, then switch circuits to run a large portion of my house circuits from the 6000XP.

      @@woolval52I just ordered the 6000XP with the PowerPro. Thanks for the transfer switch recommendation.

    Be careful of the many misleading titles on Amazon. Some say 10 kW split-phase, but you find they sell two 5 kW units you must wire yourself for split-phase. Others claim "split-phase", but only if you buy two to wire for that. Some mix grid-power with solar output, while others just switch between solar and grid. Some output rough AC (THD spec) which some appliances don't like, especially motors like in a refrigerator. Best are low-freq transformers which are heavier and more expensive. Read reviews on youtube and Amazon. Many soon fail and get no manufacturer support, especially from Chinese knock-offs. California today gives almost no credit for feeding the grid, even charging one-time and annual fees for that choice.

    Nice info but sometimes misleading. I have the EG4 18KPV Hybrid Inverter and the battery backup mode is just a promise of some future firmware upgrade. Simply does not work. Also getting the BMS/battery communication to work between the inverter and the EG4 LL-s batteries has never worked. It would be nice to either come clean about these issues or find a fix that works.

    • @SignatureSolar
      @SignatureSolar  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi @dBr-ni7ce - Firmware 1818 adds the battery backup feature. If you are having issues with your LL's, you may need to check your protocols on your batteries, if you'd like to contact tech support at 903-441-2090, we can get you taken care of!

      @@SignatureSolar Been working this with Signature Solar since the inverter was commissioned. Protocols, dip switches, and about everything else has been checker several times. Just had a hour long chat this morning but still no joy. The tech guys are working it but it's fighting (I'm not faulting the support; they are trying and are very helpful but this one is making us all nuts)...

    • @dBr-ni7ce
      @dBr-ni7ce 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also I've been told several times by support that the battery backup mode does not work and that EG4 is still working on this firmware. Is that a true statement?

    • @dBr-ni7ce
      @dBr-ni7ce หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SignatureSolar I just finished my call with a “Tier II Technical Solutions Agent” at Signature Solar and now the system is working as designed/intended (including the battery communications; firmware 1818 was a definite improvement). My application is a little different; in the past rolling blackouts of about 15 minute on/off cycles were occurring during high demand periods on the grid. System now appears to be functioning great as a “whole house UPS” and I am very please with it’s performance. The support from Signature Solar has been outstanding.
