This album/group will go down in the the hip hop tradition the way Out To Lunch by Eric Dolphy has gone down in the jazz tradition. Powerful and abstract, not very popular but still influential and mind-boggling to the hardcore heads.
i've always visualized aesop rock as a post apocolyptic sage, sitting around a fire talking some knowledge to a bunch of urchins. such a good setting for this style

@Flaven80 since I started listening to aesop years and years ago, I dont think there is one song that I have not enjoyed. His flow, his choice of words, pronunciations of syllables, his beats, his collaborations are all amazing and on point. Check out his early stuff and demos pure genius.

The whole odd future gimmicked shit basically samples this style of rap and adds a motherload of cuss words to look cool and funny. in fact, ofwgkta doesnt even have deep lyrics, they just talk shit and say shocking stuff to get people's attentionp; aesop is a shade of hip hop that should be recognized
