New Mazda MX-30 R-EV Review | MotaClarity

Mazda's clever little MX-30 R-EV is a Plug-in Hybrid, but not as you know it. The Mazda's unique rotary engine never actually drives the wheels. Instead, its role is to create energy for the 168bhp electric motor which ultimately powers the car. It's a bit like Nissan's e-Power system, but this car can also be plugged in, with a battery pack offering around 53 miles of pure EV range. Sounds promising.

In the UK, the considerable emissions from the Wankel are not measured in an MOT test (hybrids are exempt) This needs to change!

The all electric mx 30 had a pretty disapointing electric range so they have made this with less than half the electric range,oops
now if they still had the 100 mile electric range with this system , success...what ev car makers seem to have forgotten is charging at home is the cheap to run and convenient bit, now i know people will say ,what if you cant charge at home, simple dont get an ev.

think about it. you really dont need to charge at home anymore. Just fill it with gas and let the gen charge it.
