I get the feeling that the few Jedi who know about Qimir by the end of this season may not believe he was really a Sith. It would explain why Mace Windu would be skeptical of a random dark side user with a red blade being Sith. That just reinforces the arrogance of the Jedi of the prequel era.

If it’s a Sith story, The Stranger could be the only recurring character throughout more seasons. Possibly showing how he branches off and creates the Knight of Ren. Besides the comments in interviews, I keep coming back to the fact that he quoted the Sith code and it was clearly a part of Mae's training. At the same time, the description of "fur clad Barbarian" is not actually descriptive of your average viking and could instead apply just as easily to a wide array of historic threats to more "civilized" areas (e.g. the goths, visigoths, lombards, huns, saxons, franks, avars, cumans).

They were so underutilized in the Sequels, and we have no idea where they even were during the majority of the Sequel movies themselves. I don't think it's silly or anything to call the Jedi "the good guys" because that's what they are. Part of the escapism of Star Wars and fiction in general is having good guys to root for in a story and bad guys to root against. And sometimes it isn't as simple as slapping a label on either and it's good to challenge that at times but something this show has really impressed me with is how it's humanised the Jedi really well and how they're presented, showing that they're just people with faults and insecurities and that's something I feel has been needed for Star Wars. Even Vernestra and the Jedi leadership have been shown to have valid concerns to approaching the investigation, things that need to be considered and I wouldn't want that to get flipped on its head by showing some of them committed atrocities on Brendok then hid it. I hope it was more of a tragic misunderstanding because the Jedi, while imperfect, should always be the good guys.

I think hes a Sith. Revealing him to be a Knight of Ren would fall flat on its face for most of the audience. They were mentioned once in Episode 7 and they had a few shots in episode 9, most of the Star Wars audience has no idea who they are or why they should care if he is. Thats only for people who are into the comics.

I think the witch connection has to do with how the twins were created. Can’t be a witch technique; they’re allowed to exist, even if they aren’t allowed to train children to use the force. But if they made a deal with a Sith, made the twins with Sith Alchemy…

I’m not super knowledgeable about the Knights of Ren, but they don’t seem to be powerful or skilled force users, and they generally don’t use lightsabers. Even if Qimir is one, he probably had either Jedi or Sith training beforehand.

I'm reminded of the interaction between Osha and May when they were children getting their hair braided and mention they are the only children. The two adults looked pointedly at each other. I think it was a clue that at least one other child, the Stranger, was being raised by them. The Jedi discovering him is what led to whatever happened between them and the witches.

He's cunning, philosophical, a brilliant strategist and so, so powerful in the force already. It feels like a perfect fit in many ways except for the fact that he's not Muun. He could of course be the apprentice to Plagueis, and that works too, but I don't think that would be as satisfying.

I think qimir is neither a knight of ren or a sith. I think he is just a lone rogue force user who doesn't agree with the views of the jedi which is why i think he says "Jedi like you might call me...sith". Because jedi ignorance and arrogance thinking they wiped out the sith forever, its not a people its a philosophy like the jedi are. I can imagine that in the thousand years between the last defeat of the ancient Sith and the prequels, the Jedi encountered many dark siders, including fallen Jedi and pretenders to the Sith tradition. Yet, on the whole, these dark siders were few and far between. That lends much more credence to why the Jedi Council, in the prequel era, were incredulous at the thought of genuine Sith still existing.

I feel like Darth Manny (Qimir) may be what Darth Venamis was in Legends, the up and coming secret (preferred) challenger to Darth Plagueis by Darth Tenebrous.
In Legends Tenebrous was a bith, and Venamis was essentially his "son" by bith reproductive methods. To have a familial link between Qimir and what is possibly Tenebrous, Tenebrous kinda has to be human or near human in canon, something which would be possible given that we don't know much about Tenebrous there yet.
