- For this video I had to blow off the dust from my 1966 Tula AKM.
AKM (rus: "avtomAt kalAshnikova modernizIrovanniy", which literally means "Modernized Kalashnikov's Assault rifle" is probably the most popular AK model out there.

AKM (rus: "Avtoma't Kala'shnikova Modernizi'rovanniy", which literally means "Modernized Kalashnikov's Assault rifle" is probably the most popular AK model out there.
The thing was developed in 1959 and replaced 1947's AK and AKS models in Soviet army.
And the most noticeable change was a cheaper and faster to manufacture stamped receiver (on 47's AK the receiver was milled out of a whole piece of metal).
Most of AKMs were produced in the city of Izhevsk, but there also were less common ones made in Tula - like this particular one.

got this in my recommended, was expecting some corny airsoft ak, then I get a very nice and from the looks authentic AKM. Further to my surprise, one that’s also select fire; good video.

I did my mandatory military service 2 months ago. Our service rifle was AK47. This video literally made me go crazy. As soon as the video started, I started shaking from excitement.
What country did you serve in for your main service weapon to do the AK-47?
I was taught at school to disassemble and assemble this rifle for speed. I like its simple construction
