In our EU country, there are many young Ukrainian men who are very rich and have great cars and are capable of defending Ukraine. They get everything for free from our country, from health care, schooling, social assistance and even money every month. Our people who need social assistance get nothing. How is it possible that the unfortunate Ukrainians, who have no money, have to fight, while te rich enjoy themselves in hotels on the coast. I am a NATO officer and have military honour and I think and belive, that all of them, should be a real man (not just super car drivers) and go back to Ukraine and fight , because Ukraine needs them now the most. A bit surface level analysis, emotional , without digging deeper into the issue, just gathered as personal anecdotes. Any Western country will have same issues if full scale war to enter their soil especially when it will go on for long time and turn in war of attrition with Allies that do escalation management ladder instead of giving all Ukraine needs sooner .
Here is additional details and nuances to what you have said also based of personal anecdotes and of reading law documents and instructions:
-Mobilization age from 25 years(recently changed from 27) not only men also women if their profession is “military service liable”(doctors for example etc)
-A lot of categories have exemption(there are definitely nuances and bureaucracy involved to get those documents )either by health or if your dependent have disability established by certain institutions, also if your close family member lost his life or is missed in action because of war.
    - some workers at military industrial facilities, science institutions, media and in national sport might have exemptions (also a lot of bureaucracy and nuances to get that but this exist and people are using this formally or informally)
    - there are already certain databases which conscription centres use , something called oberig.
    - There is big push to do recruitment in parallel to mobilization where in theory you have more control over where and on what position you can serve, you search position yourself and go speak to brigade representative showing them your skills , you volunteer for this.
    - lack and postponement of military aid caused significant lack of artillery fire, meaning you need more people to hold the front instead .
    - while new mobilization law and new electronic registry were created, shuffle inside of existing Ukrainian Army happened when some brigades that were theoretically not exactly on frontlines were sent to replace exhausted brigades and that’s why Ukraine was able to hold off so much even with 7 month delay of US aid
    - demobilization part of the mobilization law was called of since it is not possible to prepare so quickly well trained and experienced new replacement. No country in history did demobilization while they are at war on their soil.it is very painful and horrible reality .
-That’s why Ukraine need more military aid and long range missiles with aviation - quicker they get it quicker it all ends and some demobilization can start happening.
    - consular services is temporary not available. Government indeed issued a decree stating that New Passports indeed would not be sent abroad, but there is one other remark that this will not include those who have exemption/right to leave country.there are millions of Ukrainians who moved abroad years ago, i beleive sooner or later some additional guidelines will be issued for those(but we need to see in months to follow how it will work in practice)
And last question to author, to Olga: who should be recipient of this video on this topic discussed in English? What goal are you trying to reach ? Cause even though a lot of your points is something how some Ukrainians themselves perceive this topic - what aim to discuss/expose this in English? I now can only see how it feeds certain established pro russian narratives “all is lost Ukraine should give up”. why wouldn’t you use your platform and explain more why Ukraine as whole as society is so adamant in defending themselves further ? Tell them what is alternative, that it is not that Ukraine don’t want peace or stop fighting - that it is cause russians don’t stop fighting and keep pushing and bombing and they won’t stop until they fully genocide all Ukrainians, destroying all Ukraine.

People in the Donbass voted to go to Russia on 09 May 2014, again by a very large margin. If you discount these votes, then why not ask the U.N. or some other credible body to hold a referendum in each province. That's the suggestion Elon Musk made. There should be a clear and reliable system for people to help the war effort not only by becoming low trained infantry. Training should have been amped up from the beginning so rotation was mixed with practice. Many were turned away at the beginning who should have started training instead. People got 3 weeks training then got sent back to civilian life for over a year without extra training. Throwing them in suddenly isn't the best way to win. I'm not saying Ukraine alone should train. This is a partner responsibility. In these 2 years, it could be determined if someone is better for drones, artillery, cooking, transport, medicine, production, sniper, communication, sapper.... It's bad for people when they have no control over their fate and it's then bad for results.
Ukrainians are the highest positive responders for the will to fight for their country. Anyone whining that men actually have a productive life outside Ukraine instead of losing their arms and legs on the front should realise that even if they don't mind this pain and horror, most of their fellow countrymen wouldn't choose to.

There is an obvious need but government should be simple and upfront about this. I also hear Poland will begin deporting Ukrainian draft dodgers back to Ukraine -- a good thing. As for those who have been fighting for over two years, I think they should be simply moved to safer areas of service, such as in training the new recruits, planning, and logistics. This makes sense on many levels. It is unfortunate that they must be kept serving but that is the situation. Men, after all, need to be men.

Ukraine has to figure out what being Ukrainian actually means. How can Ukrainians berate other countries for not providing enough support if many of their own men run from the fight? It could not be more unfair then to leave those brave Ukrainian heroes who have been fighting since the war began without fresh troops to give them a break. If you are a young Ukrainian man and you are avoiding military service I don't know what you are but you are certainly not a "hero". You should be ashamed. Ukrainians have to stop and think. Does Ukraine deserve to exist at all if it acts this way? Foreign men have gone to fight for Ukraine and your own men hide under the bed? Ladies, if you fear losing your son, brother or husband and he does not step up, you have already lost far more. "A hero dies but once, a coward dies a million times."

Ukraine is an artificial construct of the Soviet Union. It never existed prior to the Russian Revolution. The people historically are either ethnic Russians, Polish, Hungarians or Romanian depending on the region within Ukraine. There are also minority Greek and Tatars in the east. Conquering Ukraine was not the Russian goal. Putin pursued the Minsk agreements. It was clear from 2006/7 that NATO membership was a red line - pushed by the US not Ukrainians. He amassed troops to force Ukraine back to the negotiating table because in January 2022, shelling of donbas had significantly increased. In April 2022 Istanbul a peace deal was established.

Feb 24 2022 is when the Ukrainian mobilization began. Yes Russia did invade Ukraine and steal lot’s of Ukrain’s sovereign territory over ten years ago but the full scale failed Russian invasion a little over 2 years ago hence the mobilization You forgot to mention the fourth possibility that is highly likely which is that they fight until they win and defeat the Russian invaders.
