Don't Starve Tutorial - Basic Kiting Guide

- This is a very basic guide to kiting enemies in Don't Starve to avoid damage. Kiting is a very important skill you should learn early on.
This is by no means a comprehensive video or approach to the game. There are many enemies with different attack patterns that will be much more difficult.

This really helped. Every time I would make a tree farm a tree guard would spawn and every time he would kill me. Not any more!
Thanks, this is in depth that I need than the other tuts that focus on kitiing method on each enemies INDIVIDUALLY. What I am still troubled now is when these creatures appear at night...

Yeah they can be a bitch and they do way more damage than you think too.
For a second I thought the title said "Basic knitting guide" and then in the video, I'm like, where's the knitting?

Can you make a more advanced one?
With things like kiting pigs and spider warriors
Or guardians and tentacles?
For guardians, hit them 1-2 times after you dodge their hit. It's generally not worth to fight Guardians, because they have more hp. Just plant a spiderden near their torches for free silk, glands and meat. (Guardians don't eat meat on the ground.)
For tentacles, bait their double attack and hit them once. When they take damage, they flinch and that gives you time to run away.
For warriors, bait their attack and hit them 5-7 times depending on how close you are to them. If they try to pounce you, try to run in a circle around them.
Side note, for pigs, hit them twice to aggro, dodge then hit 4 times. With Werepigs you can distract them with food like red caps that'll damage them, while attacking them. If you're kiting, hit twice then run.
last part about the dont get hit in groups, when me and my cousin were playing, doing amazing with this awesome spawn and resources everywhere we found 4 lvl 3 spider eggs, but my cousin didnt know that. And me playing as Webber and him playing as the robot he angered like no joke 40 spiders and just inst-died with log armor and a football helmet. Perfect example of last part, I dont know how he didnt see the eggs but he just didnt.

spiders can be killed by using any tool,then just hold f and don't let go,ur gonna stomp him dead
Hit the spider all the time its ok its stunlock them

It's not a mod it's debug console. Press ` to access it.
How do you hit him without pressing on him?
Press the F key.

You also was always using ham bat instead of spear(even against weak monsters), making yourself the task much easier due to the less amount of hits required to kill.
