Wilson is actually really good, since he has no downsides to the character, he just doesn't have many pros either, except for his beard, which is REALLY good in some situations. It can even be used to revive the player with a meat effigy.

to be honest your videos really arent that informative or have alot of things that people should know about characters. wilson is really good at surviving the earlier seasons winter and spring due to his beard though spring has some added effects in wetness. Wetness doesnt only freeze you it drains sanity and makes things slippery but there is a way to combat this as in dont wear the soggy items and you shall be golden as 100 wetness only adds an extra night of sanity drain that can be rid of with a top hat. willow is really good at keeping sane which is why i dont get why people hate her freezing her sanity from fire is buffed in Together she can gain 18 a minute from a full fire not to mention you can make fire stacks of maybe 20 boards stacked 1 atop each other on the ground near a flingo and just stand near for a sanity boost .That and her freezing helps during summer woodie is what i call a handy man doesnt need anything to get what he needs as all he needs his himself though yes maxwell may have him beat in the tree department that is not all that woodie is ment for. His werebeaver form can act as a shovel , axe, pickaxe, and a hammer thus making him a good choice for really low resource environments and for late game as most of the basics are gone from the spawn area. were beaver has some benefits too since you dont drop your inventory while turning only armor hats and weapons are dropped. While you do go insane you have night vision 400 insulation to both freezing and over heating and you also have a 60 percent wetness protection which means you can dry off under a tree while in beaver form these are just 1s I could go into more detail on as asparagus already kinda went into wendy which is my main for this game so i dont have to talk about her in this comment. thats for your other video on the team apsects of each character
were-beaver, woody can go out at night as were-beaver with no problem, chop trees down fast as hell and the others could gather stuff afterwards, he can also pull up bushes and the grass as extra resource
also, i've had a glitch with the "cheat" menu, if i use it and exit, i can't bring up the pause menu or anything, it screws everything up(not like it kills the game, but i can't use anything or pause)

Actually, Abigail's damage isn't increased in the caves unless it's night on the surface, and the tallbird attack was to show how she's not very good against single enemies.

You could have mention things like that willow can kill dragonfly without much effort, cause burning damage hurts her only a little. Or how to abuse woodies insanity gain per loss, cause you can, and with that he can outperform Maxwell. Wes is like a Wilson with weaker stats and higher hunger drain. Wx is extremely good at ruins rush and one of the best lategame characters . Boss fight easier, with honey long term food supply, and eggs from monster meat. And since it seems like you made this video in the mindset of not giving a fuck about the weaker characters, I have to agree on the dislike, and join in too. I disagree with what you labelled Wigfrid as, I generally use wigfrid to stay out in swamps or to kill giants, spiders, and the problem with food isn't really bad as she recovers the stats from cooked monster meat very quickly. Wolfgang is generally the top damage dealer, but Wigfrid has high survivability. Labelling her as "best at making helmets" is what I generally call incorrect, I would suggest "best at tanking damage", as she is a great choice for newer players who have yet to learn to dodge enemy attacks :\
Wigfrid is actually not better than Wolfgang at tanking damage. "Mighty" Wolfgang has 100 more Health than Wigfrid. Unless I screwed up my calculations (feel free to correct me), that's mathematically more effective than her 25% damage reduction. Imagine the following scenario: tanking 10 damage per second from an enemy (Wigfried takes 7,5). Wigfrid will last for 26,6 seconds with 200 Health, Wolfgang will last 30 seconds with 300 Health. Not to mention that Wolfgang's higher damage also means he will kill the enemy faster, which also means less damage taken. Again, do correct me if I messed up my numbers here.
In fact, I believe the difference in how long they would survive migh be less than that since Wolfgang's health will diminish according to his Hunger level. I'm just not sure whether the game reduces his Health from his maximum amount (which would make no difference) or from his current amount (which would make him last less than 30 seconds in the scenario above). Either way his ability to tank is nearly the same as Wigfrid's.

Its literally the best use for every character. There are three main things in Dont Starve: Farming food, getting resources and killing monsters, and the best characters for that, respectively are Wickerbotton, Maxwell and Wolfgang. Any other character besided these can only be better in secondary stuff, such as Wigfrid / Webber / WX78, or at useless stuff, such as Wilson / Willow / Wes. Its not his fault some characters are straight up better than other ones, lol.

Tyler B You can kite Dragonfly, watch Joeshmccoolstuff's speedrun, the moslings only go in one direction, so they are avoidable, although it is difficult.

Also, as a beginner myself, I think explaining more of the basics of the characters would have helped a lot more. You should have mentioned the bonuses that you get from each character, like with getting back sanity and more strength from enemies or having to have no weaknesses with Wilson whatsoever. I see a lot of people saying Woodie is useless, but they don't acknowledge the fact that he's essentially a walking shovel. Once he goes werebeaver he can quickly dig up stuff like berry bushes, grass, etc for building farms at base. As well, he can break rocks way quicker than anyone else (other than Maxwell with mining clones, but why have those when you could have chopping clones?) when in werebeaver form, and when in this form he loses sanity quickly, which makes him great at getting nightmare fuel. Being a werebeaver also allows him to see in the dark and keeps him from freezing/overheating, which is good in a pinch and long trips where you don't want to stop at night. He also gets extra damage and speed. The werebeaver can also carry a backpack if one is equipped when transforming, which can be used to bring along supplies for long trips as a werebeaver. The werebeaver is Woodie's best feature, and nobody acknowledges it as much as they should. I'm not saying Woodie is the best character by any means, but he's better than he's often acknowledged as.

@@EdgyRick You can only have so many clones since it decreases your sanity cap with no way to bring it back up, and wood is a more important resource than stone in most cases, so letting Maxwell do the chopping and woodie do the mining is a useful way to split the workload, or vice versa. Essentially Woodie and Maxwell would synergize well in terms of splitting the resource gathering for stone and wood.
@@EdgyRick Yeah, thinking about it, a team of 2 Maxwells would be better as well. The only advantage woodie has over Maxwell is the werebeaver form's perks and the health. Which are pretty good perks. I'd say they're about equal although unwanted werebeaver transformations are annoying.
The problem is that Woodie's werebeaver form is generally weaker than his normal form, except for a few situations in very early game. After that, it just becomes a nuisance, and he can't even use his main upside super well because of it. It just forces him to waste resources. Whereas Maxwell is very efficient, and even has his shadow duelers which are EXTREMELY good against weak mobs, because they regenerate health.
you should of also put the fact that willow is the best character for night because her lighter can bring enough light to not be attacked, and on single player her lighter has infinite durability while it is craftable on Don't Starve Together.

YT_TitanCat willow is the worst at surviving at night. Her lighter emits barely a tiny bit of light, a torch is better as it requires less materials and is a moderate amount of light. Willow sucks and is the worst character to be played in DST.

Infini BEE "Sanity stations" take up so much time and are an absolute waste. 42.5 damage is shit, dark swords are easier to make and do more damage. Get out dirty willow maining casual.
Edgy Rick As in, she does a lot more than craft helmets. Battle spear, Valkyrie helmet, gets sanity and health for killing things etc. Wigfrid is also a more consistent (although weaker) Wolfgang. Since he needs constant full hunger to fight more effectively than Wigfrid.
Namae Nai Being Wolfgang and maintaining is difficult, but no where near impossible, all my videos assume you are perfectly at skill cap, this means Wolfgang is much better than Wigfrid.

i disagree with wigfrid she can sustain being in my opinion the easiest character in ds as her hunger is easily managed and her natural always applied damage buff makes her very good solo or for using less healing during boss fights allowing her team the healing if they need it just my opinion though also willow is garbage and no one can disagree with that i can make a torch and burn things and sanity is never an issue when i play so banana
That is one argument for wigfrid, but here's a few things to think about, 1st, you aren't always fighting, wolfgang can just eat up before fighting every time, or atleast big fights, 2nd Wolfgang also gets a speed boost, arguably the best improved stat under high hunger, on top of that, low sanity is a good thing in DST due to it allowing for easy nightmare fuel farming.
Sure do love those WX who join the server and eat all the gears, even better when they go and die to something inane. I'd much rather have Wig tanks then a WX tank.

wx-78 is also best at having 400 freaking health and being able to heal a lot of hunger and health from gears. He is also able to eat spoiled food as though it were fresh, which is good for wickerbottom and early game, and just because after a while of making lots of food some of it will go to waste, unless you brought a wx-78 for your team, as he doubles as a trash compactor. He also hates all life, which is edgy, you should like that.

LOL not entirely the best example of Abigail killing hordes of monsters, there... I know Wolfgang is stronger than Wigfrid in mighty form, but he's so finicky to manage - unless they've changed him in DST, where I haven't tried him - that Wigfrid is by far a better all-round character, imo. She still dealt with the Deerclops, without armour and with her own spear (not a dark sword!) and because of her buffs - which you didn't mention! :p - she can pretty much take on a whole army of smaller critters, killing them one by one and coming out with no net losses. She is also incredibly easy to feed, since she can chow down on monster meat and regain the stats just by getting more. I have always considered her character OP but I'm not complaining because she suits my somewhat berserker playstyle :D

Wolfgang is much better than Wigfrid in almost every circumstance. He does much more damage per hit as her, moves faster than her, and can eat non-meats like dragonpie and mushrooms. Wigfrid is only useful if you can't kite and are new to the game.
I dont understand why people make a big deal out of the fact that she cant eat vegetables, meat is definitely not hard to get, berries go bad very quickly. Berries can also be used in the crockpot with meat to get meatballs. Which a spear, wigfrid two shots spiders and negates the negative effects of monster meat, cooked at least.

If you take wortox for His soul healing (20 health a soul) and kill butterflies, pair it with wormwood. Wormwood then can produce living logs for dark swords. You could then have a insane party member and some Walters aim down shadows for fuel. If you want to be sane, pull out the Walters, Go to the caves, and have Walter tell stories for sanity. You could have a wicker produce food for the party, you could also get a Wolfgang or wx78 for backups. And you could have everyone on the server take deerclops or another giant in 10 seconds. Oh, and you can have wormwood plant seeds for dragon fruit to make pies. The fastest way to make an insane member is a wortox (-5 sanity per soul) or take the wormwood out with either woodie or maxwell.

willow is really good at keeping sane which is why i dont get why people hate her freezing her sanity from fire is buffed in Together she can gain 18 a minute from a full fire not to mention you can make fire stacks of maybe 20 boards stacked 1 atop each other on the ground near a flingo and just stand near for a sanity boost .That and her freezing helps during summer
woodie is what i call a handy man doesnt need anything to get what he needs as all he needs his himself though yes maxwell may have him beat in the tree department that is not all that woodie is ment for. His werebeaver form can act as a shovel , axe, pickaxe, and a hammer thus making him a good choice for really low resource environments and for late game as most of the basics are gone from the spawn area. were beaver has some benefits too since you dont drop your inventory while turning only armor hats and weapons are dropped. While you do go insane you have night vision 400 insulation to both freezing and over heating and you also have a 60 percent wetness protection which means you can dry off under a tree while in beaver form

Actually, Abigail's damage isn't increased in the caves unless it's night on the surface, and the tallbird attack was to show how she's not very good against single enemies.

I disagree with what you labelled Wigfrid as, I generally use wigfrid to stay out in swamps or to kill giants, spiders, and the problem with food isn't really bad as she recovers the stats from cooked monster meat very quickly. Wolfgang is generally the top damage dealer, but Wigfrid has high survivability. Labelling her as "best at making helmets" is what I generally call incorrect, I would suggest "best at tanking damage", as she is a great choice for newer players who have yet to learn to dodge enemy attacks :\
Wigfrid is actually not better than Wolfgang at tanking damage. "Mighty" Wolfgang has 100 more Health than Wigfrid. Unless I screwed up my calculations (feel free to correct me), that's mathematically more effective than her 25% damage reduction.
Imagine the following scenario: tanking 10 damage per second from an enemy (Wigfried takes 7,5). Wigfrid will last for 26,6 seconds with 200 Health, Wolfgang will last 30 seconds with 300 Health. Not to mention that Wolfgang's higher damage also means he will kill the enemy faster, which also means less damage taken.
Again, do correct me if I messed up my numbers here.
In fact, I believe the difference in how long they would survive migh be less than that since Wolfgang's health will diminish according to his Hunger level. I'm just not sure whether the game reduces his Health from his maximum amount (which would make no difference) or from his current amount (which would make him last less than 30 seconds in the scenario above). Either way his ability to tank is nearly the same as Wigfrid's.
Plus wx78 has 400hp.

1) You don't go into detail. For example, and this could be applied to everybody, but we'll use Wigfrid for this. You said "Wigfrid is good at making helmets." Okay, sure. I can believe that with an explanation. But you didn't give an explanation. You just showed footage with no commentary.
2) You only said one thing per character. For example, you said Wendy was good at getting rid of hordes via Abigail. While this is true, she's also good at so many other things. Like she's good at getting your teammates out of bad situations since Abigail can be a distraction. Great for harvesting food because Abigail is fast and can outrun rabbits, etc.
3) Most of your footage was bad. There was some good ones like Wolfgang's, but for example Wendy's. You said she's good at taking out hordes because of Abigail, but in your footage Abigail died after one small group of spiders.

Its literally the best use for every character. There are three main things in Dont Starve: Farming food, getting resources and killing monsters, and the best characters for that, respectively are Wickerbotton, Maxwell and Wolfgang. Any other character besided these can only be better in secondary stuff, such as Wigfrid / Webber / WX78, or at useless stuff, such as Wilson / Willow / Wes. Its not his fault some characters are straight up better than other ones, lol.

Also, as a beginner myself, I think explaining more of the basics of the characters would have helped a lot more. You should have mentioned the bonuses that you get from each character, like with getting back sanity and more strength from enemies or having to have no weaknesses with Wilson whatsoever. I see a lot of people saying Woodie is useless, but they don't acknowledge the fact that he's essentially a walking shovel. Once he goes werebeaver he can quickly dig up stuff like berry bushes, grass, etc for building farms at base. As well, he can break rocks way quicker than anyone else (other than Maxwell with mining clones, but why have those when you could have chopping clones?) when in werebeaver form, and when in this form he loses sanity quickly, which makes him great at getting nightmare fuel. Being a werebeaver also allows him to see in the dark and keeps him from freezing/overheating, which is good in a pinch and long trips where you don't want to stop at night. He also gets extra damage and speed. The werebeaver can also carry a backpack if one is equipped when transforming, which can be used to bring along supplies for long trips as a werebeaver. The werebeaver is Woodie's best feature, and nobody acknowledges it as much as they should. I'm not saying Woodie is the best character by any means, but he's better than he's often acknowledged as.

I'm going to introduce you to a great world of WHYYYYYY NOTTTTTTT BOTHHHHHHHHHH. The reason people say Woodie is useless is because Maxwell is just better at what he does, same reason why Wigfrid is useless even though she's high tier, Wolfgang is a better version.
@@EdgyRick You can only have so many clones since it decreases your sanity cap with no way to bring it back up, and wood is a more important resource than stone in most cases, so letting Maxwell do the chopping and woodie do the mining is a useful way to split the workload, or vice versa. Essentially Woodie and Maxwell would synergize well in terms of splitting the resource gathering for stone and wood.

@@EdgyRick Yeah, thinking about it, a team of 2 Maxwells would be better as well. The only advantage woodie has over Maxwell is the werebeaver form's perks and the health. Which are pretty good perks. I'd say they're about equal although unwanted werebeaver transformations are annoying.
The problem is that Woodie's werebeaver form is generally weaker than his normal form, except for a few situations in very early game. After that, it just becomes a nuisance, and he can't even use his main upside super well because of it. It just forces him to waste resources. Whereas Maxwell is very efficient, and even has his shadow duelers which are EXTREMELY good against weak mobs, because they regenerate health.

YT_TitanCat willow is the worst at surviving at night. Her lighter emits barely a tiny bit of light, a torch is better as it requires less materials and is a moderate amount of light. Willow sucks and is the worst character to be played in DST.

2) she is super good for megabases and the early game
3) she is easier to understand than Wolfgang
4) you don’t Need to have much experience
5) She does teach the importance of kiting as well as the good aspects of tanking
6) she is super easy to play
7) as Long as you either find a Beefalo Herd , a pig village , a swamp , a Tallbird fortress or make a bunnymen farm , you have infinite food
8) she heals after fighting which lets players not have to worry about healing items so much .
9) if you make a spider/pig/bunnymen farm you have infinite healing without having to farm recourses .
10) she’s really fun to play
11) she starts with super good armor and a really good first weapon which are really cheap to craft (not like you said in your mistakes video . I quote:
„If you haven’t made 80 Crockpots yet ,
Do that . Then waste your rocks on your *overexpensive* helmets .“
12) she can supply every other player on the server with super good helmets which have more armor and more durability than a football helmet .

This is the second time I've been told wendy is good underground. She is NOT good underground, abigail does not gain any damage modifier from being down there, as there is also a caves day/night cycle.

i disagree with wigfrid she can sustain being in my opinion the easiest character in ds as her hunger is easily managed and her natural always applied damage buff makes her very good solo or for using less healing during boss fights allowing her team the healing if they need it just my opinion though also willow is garbage and no one can disagree with that i can make a torch and burn things and sanity is never an issue when i play so banana
That is one argument for wigfrid, but here's a few things to think about, 1st, you aren't always fighting, wolfgang can just eat up before fighting every time, or atleast big fights, 2nd Wolfgang also gets a speed boost, arguably the best improved stat under high hunger, on top of that, low sanity is a good thing in DST due to it allowing for easy nightmare fuel farming.

wx-78 is also best at having 400 freaking health and being able to heal a lot of hunger and health from gears. He is also able to eat spoiled food as though it were fresh, which is good for wickerbottom and early game, and just because after a while of making lots of food some of it will go to waste, unless you brought a wx-78 for your team, as he doubles as a trash compactor. He also hates all life, which is edgy, you should like that.

Here’s what i would consider the best use, that’s up to date
Wilson: he’s a all around character, so the beard thing stays
Willow: using Bernie to farm nightmare creatures
Wolfgang: dealing with bosses
Wendy: dealing with massive crowds such as hounds, spiders and spulmonkeys
Wx-78: running around the map and and doing stuff during winter
Wickerbottom: growing crops
Woodie: collecting wood with a Warly on your team, either that or befriending pigs
Wes: dying
Maxwell: getting recourses besides wood unless there is no Warly
Wigfrid: tanking and distracting enemies, that or arming her allies
Webber: farming silk
Winona: defending base
Wortox: healing the team
Wormwood: planting crops
Warly: preparing ahead of time to do something

"crafting helmets" wigfrid is great at teaching you how to fight, since it forces you to fight, and you get gamer benefites
LOL not entirely the best example of Abigail killing hordes of monsters, there... I know Wolfgang is stronger than Wigfrid in mighty form, but he's so finicky to manage - unless they've changed him in DST, where I haven't tried him - that Wigfrid is by far a better all-round character, imo. She still dealt with the Deerclops, without armour and with her own spear (not a dark sword!) and because of her buffs - which you didn't mention! :p - she can pretty much take on a whole army of smaller critters, killing them one by one and coming out with no net losses. She is also incredibly easy to feed, since she can chow down on monster meat and regain the stats just by getting more. I have always considered her character OP but I'm not complaining because she suits my somewhat berserker playstyle :D

Wolfgang is much better than Wigfrid in almost every circumstance. He does much more damage per hit as her, moves faster than her, and can eat non-meats like dragonpie and mushrooms. Wigfrid is only useful if you can't kite and are new to the game.
Don't forget that Wifgrid get Sanity and Health by fighting.
I dont understand why people make a big deal out of the fact that she cant eat vegetables, meat is definitely not hard to get, berries go bad very quickly. Berries can also be used in the crockpot with meat to get meatballs. Which a spear, wigfrid two shots spiders and negates the negative effects of monster meat, cooked at least.

Why are you worried of spoilage? Rot can be used to fertilize everything and also make I guess you could say useful booster shots, there's also a thing called bundling wraps in dst.

If you take wortox for His soul healing (20 health a soul) and kill butterflies, pair it with wormwood. Wormwood then can produce living logs for dark swords. You could then have a insane party member and some Walters aim down shadows for fuel. If you want to be sane, pull out the Walters, Go to the caves, and have Walter tell stories for sanity. You could have a wicker produce food for the party, you could also get a Wolfgang or wx78 for backups. And you could have everyone on the server take deerclops or another giant in 10 seconds. Oh, and you can have wormwood plant seeds for dragon fruit to make pies. The fastest way to make an insane member is a wortox (-5 sanity per soul) or take the wormwood out with either woodie or maxwell.
