Mark the kid Martin, one of the most talented cup drivers to have never won a cup championship. Plus nobody ever mentions this, Mark was probably the cleanest driver in NASCAR history! He never wrecked anyone intentionally, but then again some would say that's why he never one a championship. I'm happy he's in the HOF.
Even when he accidentally wrecked Carl Edwards in a Xfinity race carl himself said he wanted to be mad be he knew Mark's a clean driver and knew it was a racing deal. Plus how Mark handled it with a subdue celebration untill he apologized to brad and carl. He might not won a physical championship but to be respected by your fellow drivers crew members and team owners sometimes maybe that's the true definition of a champion
Mark congratulations ... You are one of the greatest to ever wheel a car ... I've watched you since you started with Jack ... You will always be my driver ... You may have never taken a cup home but in my heart along with countless other fans you will always be a champion ... You have shown nothing but true class ... Your driving skills were just phenomenal ... It warms my heart that you are where you need to be now ... And that is with the Legends ... Thanks for all the years of watching you race ... I've missed you being on the tracks ... My hats off to you on a job well done ...
The greatest driver ever. As a fan, I've been lucky enough to meet Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty, Jeff Burton, Chad Little, Joe Nemechek, and others......but as a guy who raced in local stockcar divisions, I always looked to Mark Martin for answers to racing. His style of racing, the command of the car, and the integrity of the sport....he is a true champion.
This is the man who got me into watching NASCAR and eventually racing myself. The personality of this humble man meant alot to me and always will. Thank you Mark. You are truly one of the best
so happy to see my mark inducted, i grew up with #6 valvoline hats and models all over my room, its so cool to see my childhood hero again smiling in the spotlight, what a perfect conclusion to an awesome career :) Mark Martin fan for life!
My most favorite driver of all time. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Or to a more class Act. I followed Mark so closely in the 90s when NASCAR was great. He was my man every Sunday. Sad that he never won Daytona or a championship but one of the best guys to ever strap into a stock car. Nobody more deserving. Congratulations mark.
Since 1983 (my sister was born then). God Martin. Awesome. Thank you Jeff Burton for the head nod and respect. "But you know, you can never, ever give up."
This man is the the definition of tenacity. Though he never won a championship, he will forever be remembered as one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR. My hats off to you, my childhood hero.
@@allenshafer7666 It was fun. I just found out about a crash in the "Sportsman Series" at Charlotte around 1995. It was extremely graphic, Russell Phillips was killed. I had never heard of it until about 2 days ago.
As a diehard drag racing fan and member of a world championship drag racing family I want to thank Mr Martin for what he done for us in North Carolina years ago when all 4 trailer tires failed us at once on a old cup car hauler we had just purchased to bring here to the west coast. The only person to stop on the highway we were stranded on was mark. He took us into the next town and took us to get 4 new tires mounted and then paid for them to our astonishment even after we explained we could pay for them ourselves. He then took us back and helped change them out. He is class as class can get and deserved this induction....congrats Mark u are a champion above a cup champion.
I’ve been a race fan of every discipline my entire life. There are and have been many drivers that I liked to see win and a couple over the years that I didn’t want to see win. Mark Martin is the only driver that I ever really pulled for. I have manufacturer, constructor, event and sanctioning body merchandise out the wazoo but the ONLY drivers merchandise I ever bought was Mark Martin merchandise.
Mark Martin you have been always one ☝ of my drivers .I always loved to watch you race.I wish I had more model cars in my collection .I need more metal cars yet.I rember that time you went flying in the air.to me your my number 1st driver.good guy 👦 3-28-20
being from arkansas, i use to watch him drive at the ft,smith arkansas race track, back in the mid 70's,he was beating very good drivers almost twice his age, i kind of knew than that he may make it big,in raching, race fans came all over the mid-south to watch him race,
Pretty much every year in the 1990's there were moments in the year where Mark could have been Winston Cup champion had fate gone the other way. He might not have won a championship officially, but he was in contention many times. Definitely 1990 and 1997 were the two obvious ones.
GOAT to never win a Cup championship. A hero - and yes, that word is used too often - to me. Not only because of his skills as a driver but for his dedication to the sport and the kind of man he is. He always tried to make time for his fans - always.
Mark is a champion. He won it in 1990. However, the same old NASCAR fuckery decided not to have him crowned champ on paper for that bullshit 2.5" carburetor rule, which everyone broke anyway. The points NASCAR took from him determined that season, but everyone knew he was the real champ.
That has been my guy since his ARCA days. Such a class act, but had some fierce determination in some of the races I've personally watched him run..especially at Indianapolis. Maybe he needs to field a team? Matt is getting older.....
Wow....if you guys only knew...I watched this dude struggle and pay many fuckin dues driving that old Apache Stoves Buick Regal..I wouldn’t have given him a snowballs chance in hell for even winning 2 races...
Best comment he ever made.
..."I'll finish second before I'll wreck someone for first"

Mark's one of the greatest personalities in the sport, and he was winning late into his career. Showing them young guys how it's done!
Classiest and most respectable man in the history of motorsports.
From the first race to his last I was a Mark Martin Fan and still am what a wonderful person.
Mr Martin was the reason I watched Nascar. Thanks for all the memories Mark.
Such a humble guy and a great race driver ! I miss him driving that number 6 car so much ! It's people like Mark that made Nascar great !
I enjoyed when he drove the number 5 car for Hendrick Motorsports.

*the best* driver to never win a title.
Mr Speed Agreed. he came in second a few times but he was always consistently great for over 30 years
Absolutely the best driver to never win a cup championship

Was always a fan of Mark! I respected him because he raced everyone clean!
Mark Martin not only a great racer but a hell of a gentleman
I know.
You know, He never raced aggressively or anything like that when he was racing.
And he's practically a really nice guy.
Thanx Mark for all the memories, like the time you pulled onto pit road under caution in the lead, one lap before the race was over.
I remember that race. He was in the #60 Winn Dixie Car
