    Honda should be proud of this car. They still know how to make a capable car that actually has driving character, it’s such a rare thing in modern cars.

    wasnt a fan when they first unveiled it, but now its my dream car (as long as it can fit my 6ft 3 frame comfortably in the leg room department 😂)

      I'm 6ft 3 and its a great fit, no issues and plenty of room for a [track day] helmet.

    Agree with EVERYTHING you said except I do really love the triple exhaust...but it doesn't matter. What I really emphasize my agreement with is this: it IS a once in a lifetime vehicle. I can't remember a time where a new car was released and I felt seen like I do with the Integra--and even more so with the Type S. I have been so disappointed for years, languishing for a car for someone like me who missed the fun of a manual, who wanted a little sport to its look and feel, but who sacrificed all of the above because luxury features and technology that only comes now in an automatic took precedence over my increasingly less common disposition for a manual. Bottom line, you said it best: This. Is. The. One.

      This isn't worth it at all to be honest. It seems like a cool vehicle and a great drive, but it is not all that either. Especially since there are so many vehicles that are way better to drive and even better used older machines.

    • @lexisnep525

      There has been 32% inflation since 2013. $45,000 in 2013 = $60,000 today.

    • @anthonykiedis1765
      @anthonykiedis1765 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      And that's if you are lucky enough to get it for MSRP. Most people are paying way over for this vehicle.

    • @anthonykiedis1765
      @anthonykiedis1765 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lexisnep525even with inflation factored in, this thing is still too expensive. A 1997 Integra Type-R had an MSRP of $23,000. Adjusted for inflation that is roughly $44,000 today.

    Nice review and great photography/videography.
    Is the Civic Si or Integra ASpec 1.5 with manual almost as much fun for a lot less?
    And given the so-so mileage you got, would a WRX be another almost as good low MPG alternative?

    • @ShootingCars
      @ShootingCars  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Short answer: no. Those 3 cars listed are a step below the type-s. Don’t get me wrong, I like all three of those, but the type-s feels more special, has more purpose while driving, and at the end of the day is the “real deal” where the others feel like economy cars on spring break.

    • @Marbind
      @Marbind 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not even close.
      You are missing wider track, wider tires, suspension geometry to minimize torque steer, bigger brakes, 120hp, stronger clutch that don't slip like the one found in the 1.5T with mild mods, etc.
      A lot less comes with a lot of compromises in the performance department.

      Well, that’s why the Integra was made. To fight Civic markups.
      Same with Toyota making the Lexus TX to fight Grand Highlander markups.
      Both the TX and Integra are only slightly better than the model they’re based off of.
      Is this some kind of new Japanese North American strategy to deal with markups?

    13:10 Why buy this over a Mustang though as all those points apply but 4 doors? Which mind you you get the Samish back seats and two massive doors instead... with a bigger trunk... Also RWD and 200 more Horse power atleast.

      I can't take family in a mustang. The mustang doesn't take corners as aggressive as this car unless you are willing to pay a premium that will make it more expensive.

  • @kiraleaf

    I was skeptical, but you know what.. it's not as big of a disappointment as some may make it out to be. It reminds me of Toyota's modern styling and minimalism, and when it comes to quality and reliability it's nearly comparable.
    You get the familiarity and ease of use of a Honda, but you pay extra for that Acura badging and nostalgia despite it being a 2.0 FWD. But, you can get a 2024 Corolla AWD XSE for much LE$$.

    • @edgaryzen4925
      @edgaryzen4925 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting. What your scores on this car? Masterful B? I’m thinking B- as it is a bit excessive here and there re: 80% practicality AND for the $ along with the AWD being excluded.

    • @kiraleaf
      @kiraleaf 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@edgaryzen4925 I would never score/compare anything on a relative scale without having a large amount of first-hand experience. My evaluation tends to have a few competitors in mind to compare to, for price and technical specs, other variants of the platform and similar vehicles of the same brand..
      My opinion is that Honda made the '24 Integra to capitalize on the wave of retro-modern nostalgia buys (new Z, new Supra, new 86) and they expect to make money, even if a Corolla XSE at almost 60% of the price is way more 'bang for your buck'. You're paying for the Acura logo and 'Integra Type-R' on it. That's it, it's still just a Honda Civic.

    • @kiraleaf
      @kiraleaf 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I mean, at least they really stuck with what an Integra is ... four banger, manual FWD. Some people just want that, and nothing else. They know their buyers.

    • @edgaryzen4925
      @edgaryzen4925 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kiraleaf fair point. I was just thinking as a new buyer wanting more than the “Integra DNA” like me. Oh wel :)

    • @kiraleaf
      @kiraleaf 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@edgaryzen4925 as a new buyer you could research good points and bad points to look out for, and recommend purchasing a used Honda Civic from an owner who's updating and selling their previous.. with all the cash you save through researching and finding a reasonable buy, you can tune the shit out of it. Start with tires, suspension, and anything not part of the drivetrain until you understand what kinds of upgrade limitations you may encounter through intake/exhaust restrictions and factory limits. :) More fun for your money.

      They are basically preaching to the choir and mainly selling the small production volume of these cars to existing Honda Acura fans. Will it gain new Acura fans? Probably not, but Acura can't afford to sell too many of these anyway as it would negatively affect their CAFE fuel economy average.

      It’s just a Civic Type R markup fighter.
      An anti-markup clone.
      Same for the Lexus TX fighting Grand Highlander markups.
      Is this some kind of new Japanese North American strategy to deal with markups?
      Both the TX and Integra are only slightly better than the cars that they are based off of, both in GH and Civic markup price range too.
