    Thanks for being the first person to preview this integration! I know a lot of folks are going to benefit :)

    Nice tutorial but RW has updated its interface with Tana recently. Would appreciate if you do a updated one

    Readwise seems to have made this the default setup now. I didn't have to change the export settings. Nice job! Thanks for all your content. It's helped me a ton.

    First half - straightforward instructional video about how to link Readwise and Tana: thank you!
    Second half - how to integrate generative AI to create huge swathes of potentially meaningful ideas from a single quote: MIND IS BLOWN, WHAT IS HUMANITY ANYWAY?!?!?!

    would be decent if I could actually use this and wasn’t on the waitlist since early may 😅

    Thank you for putting this out - I've been making do with Tana Paste, waiting and wishing for this integration. You have provided some very practical guidance on how to use it and things to avoid (careful with those ReadWise created nodes!) as well as building on the basics with your AI commands. Another great contribution to using Tana.

    This is fantastic. I have integrated this in my Tana Zettelkasten system. Before, I had to enter the topic keywords manually. And on first view, it seems that ChatGPT produces way more keywords (and some really intelligent ones) and thus creates more connections.👍🏻

    I notice that Readwise has incorporated the code you recommend putting into its default highlight code box from the start. That is, if you click "reset," you get the box filled out as you recommend.

      Oh, except that you have a #note tag, and Readwise doesn't.

    Great work. The merging crucial! Out of curiousity why did you opt for a command node with topic rather than an AI field? My guess is that the button allows you to apply in on a case by case basic, whereas the field would mean an implicit assumption that you want topics for every quote. Just curious if there was any other reasoning that I was missing.
    Also, I love the Apply This concept!

    • @cortexfuturatools
      @cortexfuturatools  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's basically it :) Having a separate command also let's you do the following with an AI field: Instead of {$ for t in highlight_tags %} {{t}} {%endfor %} you can do:
      {% for t in highlight_tags %} {{t}} | {% endfor %} (notice the pipe character!)
      And then ask the AI field to turn everything in that field that is separated by pipe characters into individual nodes.
      That lets you parse all your Readwise tags - but you can only do either (extract all topics OR parse Readwise highlights).
      I didn't want to make the video more complicated than it already is, so I opted for the version where you get the command node/button but are still free to configure your topic(s) field however you like.

    Great video, as always Lukas! I've missed your videos while you've been on vacation.
    Just a quick question - with the "get topics" AI command, are the topics generated completely new ones, or does AI also embed topics already existing in your system? I use your TanaMind setup and just don't want duplicates of #topics in my system.

      @cortexfuturatools  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey, thank you!
      The "Get Topics" AI command is going to re-use existing topics in your system :)

    Hi Likas, just connected Readwise to Tana and it works very well so far. But then I realized that photos and graphics are not imported - can this be?

    i realy love tana but sometimes it is so complicated. like this example. you ne a 40min video to explain and setup what other apps do with one click out of the box 🙂

      I think that's generally fair, but have you seen the import templates people write for Obsidian? This is a really, really small template compared to that.
