I really like the hood lock and those struts that live it up. I'm 60 now and my shoulder snap and pop so that extra help would be nice, but then I'll still have to shut it so I'll think on that one a while.
I like the fact that you admit some things are just "because I wanted the bling". So many people wanna be way too tryhard about this stuff lol. I'll be the first to admit that 50% of the stuff I've done to my JK was entirely because it looked cool lol. Nice rig man!
Just got my jeep a few days ago. I’ve been watching a ton of videos about mods, but yours stand out. I like that you show what you did AND showed how they perform with real footage of how it’s used. Perfect vid for a new jeep owner! Impressive.
Replaced my sad plastic bumpers with some heavy duty steel bumpers and soon after got rear ended in traffic. It tore up his front end and didn't even chip the paint on my bumper. Worth every penny.
Like you I added LED lighting all around including the side markers and 3rd brake light. I mounted Ace sliders for side protection. I put an oil catch can because they seem to smoke at steep angles. Fire extinguisher and medical kit strapped to the roll bar. I put a front class 3 receiver to carry bikes or to mount my winch. Receiver came on the rear to pull a small trailer. I keep the winch home out of he weather if not needed. Kline air horns mounted under the jeep doubles as an air source if I need it. Grab handles and Ace trail door because my wife is afraid door less. Finally I added a Wilco offroad tow / light bar to mount a 20" lightbar to the stock front bumper. The front bumper was cut shorter to make it look nicer for practically nothing. I changed out the front springs to correct the front end rake.
So im new to the Jeep family, and im all the way in South Africa. Im planning on buying the Sahara Unlimited soon. Mods that i like. 1. Bonnet lock system 2. Bonnet Hinches 3. Front and Back light changes
Like the video I have done almost everything you have. But the one thing I have done that is a must in my mind if you own a jeep. Is the I-DRIVE throttle response. Has a lot of settings and woke up my jeep. Plug an play.
Great video, that seems to be the same blue as my 2016 hard rock edition Rubicon. My oem bumpers are steel, so no grabbing them and waving it around. In fact hit a steel post with mine and cracked the cement it was set in. Loved the location of your air compressor. My future installation.
3 favorites on yours: ARB Compressor Teraflex Sliders Rugged Ridge Hoodlatches Ones I have that I really like are: Teraflex HD hinge and tire carrier American Expedition Vehicle Suspension Rightline Gear bags Custom Daystar and Ram Mount cell phone and tablet holders
Wrong fire extinguisher. Replace it with the white one (marine) - it's better for oil and gas fires. The one you've got installed is a household extinguisher.
I like the hood lock, gas struts, teraflex bumpers, JW speaker headlights & taillights Other than that you need some serious mods. But from your set up it looks like you don’t do to many difficult trials which is okay. We all pick are battles and budgets on how much we want to spend. Keep on jeep’n!
I dig that Jeep. I don't really care about what other people do to their Jeeps (vehicles) cuz it's for them. Like alot of people might not like mine ... it's not magazine worthy, but I like it and that's all that matters. ... so as far as I'm concerned, I like it all, it looks great. I just love to see what other people do. How they mix and match the crazy amount of mods available. Oh! I did have one problem ... big ass wheels and low profile tires... then it's a pavement princess.
I Really like everything you did with the jeep and the color is awesome, I'm looking for a jeep for me I have NF1 and it's not easy But I keep a positive attitude I'd like to put a winch on for helping out other people who needs help have a great time with your ride, soon I will get to join the club for fun
Hi found this one searching for mod ideas for my jk. I just bought a 2017 jk sport s ( I think my have had the rims upgraded but it does sounds like it's all stock ) . It was bought an older couple from Vancouver Island because they were moving to the interior of BC and wanted a better winter driver. The short wheel base caught them off guard so they traded it in on a jku. 80000 original Kilometers. Couple of the mods I love and will be looking for, hood latch up grades, hood latch lock, I want to upgrade front and back bumpers I use a come along to get unstuck so at this point don't need the winch, but want better recovery points. Should do the head lights but don't want to pull the whole grill to do it. Not a fan of the light bars but wouldn't mind a spot light or two. Most of my off road will be getting into my favorite falconry spots so I'm not a major rock climber, but the mud and stumps are frequent obstacles. Better floor mats will be a must. I also like the table on the tail gate. That could be # 3 on my upgrade list.
I'm not a Jeeper yet, but have my eyes on the JT. I know I'm going to mod it. First up, you've maybe changed my mind about something. I thought I wanted factory aux switches - and maybe I still do, maybe they'll still have benefit - but i haven't seen any a-pillar options for that. Yours look like they almost could be factory, the fit is that good. I hadn't considered it an option mainly because I hadn't seen any and didn't know if an aftermarket trim piece would be needed. I dislike mods that look aftermarket, and these only a little bit do. But what sold me was accessibility from the outside with the door closed and window open. No need to mount your steed just to flip a switch. On the factory-look note, I also like the grab handles for the front seats. They look like a stock option. The rears concerned me a little though - no harder than you pulled on them, I saw rotation about the longitudinal axis. Guess the way they're mounted, there's no way to avoid that, but I'd be worried I'd break it off in time. I want a lock for my hood. My understanding with the JT is that it does lock with the doors, but it might have been a feature of an add-on like yours (I've watched too many of these videos to recall). I also want better underseat locking storage for the rear. The factory option wastes too much space with plastic hollow-padding, and making it "removable" (it's not like the doors - if you need tools for something that small and relatively light, it's not removable). I'd much rather keep the non-locking sheet metal and add something to lock the seat in the down position. My main concern with LED headlights and taillights is that some models are blinding to other drivers even during the day. I don't know what it is about them but they're as bad or worse than a 90s pickup on high beams. Others aren't so bad, but I haven't seen the stock Jeep LEDs and even if I did I wouldn't know they weren't aftermarket. Granted, I currently drive a two door coupe, one reason I'm looking at a pickup for myself, but I don't want to be that guy who has blinders and drives around obliviously blinding others. Fine for off-road, but in the city you hardly need lights to see -- they're more for letting other drivers see you, which is pointless if you blind them in the process, right? I don't know if I'll off-road so I don't know if I'd benefit from a compressor, but I do want one and I do want all-four hoses. I might do an underbody tube with disconnects on either side, maybe in the wheel wells (duly protected) so I could get by with four shorter hoses to the tires. IDK. I just never liked the look of dangling ten feet of hose on either side to get all the tires at once. It strikes me as, "surely there's a better way". I'm sure I'm forgetting something(s) I wanted to comment on, but this takes forever on a mobile, constantly backspacing to correct autocorrect and with a two year old insisting on laying in Daddy's lap with her feet up on the chair arm watching her Cocomelon. Good video, was informative and even a bit inspiring for me. Thank you for sharing!
I have the hood hydraulic lift rods and mine have a red switch that I can flip and pull it off the mount ball and raise my hood all the way to the windshield. Never seen one you needed to remove the mount screws on the top mount plate.
What about the slippery side steprails? I wish there was a pre-cut grip tape to put on the slick metal spots at each door. We gotta just avoid them and it is tricky w elderly passengers! Might have to hand cut some tread tape or skateboard grip. Anything already made for my Jeep Sahara Unltd ? Thx
Out of all the AT tires you have run in the last few years what ones would you say were your fave? Also would you rather go 285/75/17 or 315/70/17 for a daily driver?
Tough call on favourite AT tires. I'm currently leaning toward the new generation hybrids - tires that are between AT and MT - like the Firestone Destinations I tested recently - th-cam.com/video/jZnh8W00SP0/w-d-xo.html. But the Falken AT3W are really impressive - th-cam.com/video/l_P-YDro0io/w-d-xo.html and we ran a set on our FJ in the mud and it was crazy how much traction they got - th-cam.com/video/G7VEFB_V50s/w-d-xo.html. 285 or 315 for a daily driver? Assuming they are identical tires I usually take the slimmer 285. The narrower tire will have less rolling resistance and should be quieter. When aired down I get plenty of traction so I find it is the best choice.
U should add a Currie anti rock , yeti steer smarts steering upgrades, ARB lockers .. I have the same headlights but feel the light pattern and output isn’t worth the $$
I like: 1) your headlight replacement, 2) front bumper, 3) your rock slider steps. I don't like: 1)hard grab handles, bad idea, if ever you've had to slam on your brakes or had your head jump around while off-road the first time you bang your head into that hard item, you're going to wish it wasn't there. 2) rear bumper likes Great but adds too much overhang (6-7 ") for my purpose. 3. replaced rear tail lights with LEDs units that fit inside the panel, those type you got there will break off in tight trees / rock. Nice look'n Jepp- I know it's your Jeep and you do what you want . KeepJeep'n
Well I now know what to get my cousin for Christmas and also cold air intakes do nothing unless they move the intake outside of the engine bay like on my Land Rover where the air intake is at the same height as the roof just trying to help out some people I’m not hateing
Im sorry but at 7:28 .. thats dumb lol . Isnt it just better to leave it inisde ? It will take up the same amount of space , if not less . Imean think about it . You gotta clear the zone in order for it to fit when you close it
Im in the same boat. I think I'm going to start with a cold air intake and headlights first so I can get the most practicality out of my jeep until I have enough money to afford the larger things. Hope this helps!
9:16 “more cold air coming in, from the front, cleaner...” mmmhhh NOT really!!! Now, what have I done, that you haven’t done, that I think you should do? Install an oil catch can. I did and you’ll be surprised on the amount of dirty oil that it catches that would be going back to the engine thru the air intake. So let me tell you that your rig is not receiving the cold, clean air you might think.
Did you say you got flutter from your hood as you drove your Jeep - um, no… this is BS. Look, sell your products.. fine but stop bullshitting during your pitch.
I still don't get the hate for the stock headlights. I have stock headlights on my 2012 jku and they light up the road just fine. I put led lights in and all they did was make every single driver on the road flash their high beams at me. I work long hours so i go to work when it's dark and i drive home in the dark. The lights are fine. You don't need to spend $400 on led headlights.
What are your top three favourite mods?
Impressive.
Got mine today!
Replaced my sad plastic bumpers with some heavy duty steel bumpers and soon after got rear ended in traffic. It tore up his front end and didn't even chip the paint on my bumper. Worth every penny.
Love the compressor that allows air up or down all 4 at the same time. Nice!!!!
"Midnight Auto".......haven't heard that term in 30 years! Awesome!
Ripped the Angry Eyes off? You should thank those rubber latches! lol
2:30 my favourite “fook” isn’t parked in the garage!
The front bumper was cut shorter to make it look nicer for practically nothing. I changed out the front springs to correct the front end rake.
Thanks. Diesel Rubicon on order. Like the hood latches, lock and struts. No dings on other stuff because it’s about your tastes. Great video.
Thanks. Wow diesel Rubicon, great choice - now I have rig envy ;)
I like the on-board air! That’s one thing I’d like to do soon.
Onboard air is also a great way to be ready for a future install of airlockers.
So im new to the Jeep family, and im all the way in South Africa. Im planning on buying the Sahara Unlimited soon.
Mods that i like.
1. Bonnet lock system
2. Bonnet Hinches
3. Front and Back light changes
Like the video
I have done almost everything you have. But the one thing I have done that is a must in my mind if you own a jeep. Is the I-DRIVE throttle response. Has a lot of settings and woke up my jeep. Plug an play.
I'm gonna replace my hood protector with your model...looks awesome. Same with the headlight protector
Good job man!
Top mod, letting that angry grill blow away.
Great job man! Love your Jeep and really appreciate the video. Going with the hood protector, best top gate basket and possibly the teraflex bumpers.
Sweet build swaybar disconnect I have a 2door jk sport love it
Got my JLU a few weeks ago and really happy I found this video. Even better cause your from BC (and possibly Van Island?)
I like where you mounted your ARB compressor, Im definitely going to consider doing that!
Great video, that seems to be the same blue as my 2016 hard rock edition Rubicon. My oem bumpers are steel, so no grabbing them and waving it around. In fact hit a steel post with mine and cracked the cement it was set in. Loved the location of your air compressor. My future installation.
Love the headlights, hood assist & subwoofer most. Can’t say I dislike anything really, I probably wouldn’t find the rear door table useful tho
3 favorites on yours:
ARB Compressor
Teraflex Sliders
Rugged Ridge Hoodlatches
Ones I have that I really like are:
Teraflex HD hinge and tire carrier
American Expedition Vehicle Suspension
Rightline Gear bags
Custom Daystar and Ram Mount cell phone and tablet holders
Nice!
I hung a "tactical" Back pack on the roll cage in the back to hold my tools and whatnot.
Wrong fire extinguisher. Replace it with the white one (marine) - it's better for oil and gas fires. The one you've got installed is a household extinguisher.
Oh! Good to know. I would have done the same red ones as 95% of others would do. Thanks for the lowdown
Ordered the rugged rich grab handles. Ty
I like the hood lock, gas struts, teraflex bumpers, JW speaker headlights & taillights
Other than that you need some serious mods. But from your set up it looks like you don’t do to many difficult trials which is okay. We all pick are battles and budgets on how much we want to spend. Keep on jeep’n!

But I keep a positive attitude
I'd like to put a winch on for helping out other people who needs help have a great time with your ride, soon I will get to join the club for fun
Where is your spare tire & jack ?
I like the compressor, 4 way air system. I also like the hood latch mod !
One of my favorite fooks, hooks!

Awesome video. What was the approx cost of all these mods?
If you have to ask.....you cant afford them. J.E.E.P. = Just Empty Every Pocket
Favorite would be 1.the hood latches 2. Light bar 3. bumper.
Thanks for the input!
4WD Magazine yeah for sure, it's cool to see the stuff people do to their Jeep's. Hopefully someday when I drive I'll get a Jeep as well.
I'm not a Jeeper yet, but have my eyes on the JT. I know I'm going to mod it.

JL doesn’t seem to have to hood flutter issue. I’m going to add the metal latch anyways. 👍🏼
All your mods are great. The exhaust might be an issue ,mayby some fabricated skid plate?
Good looking jeep.
Wooooooow I like everything bro , good job 👏🏻.
I have the hood hydraulic lift rods and mine have a red switch that I can flip and pull it off the mount ball and raise my hood all the way to the windshield. Never seen one you needed to remove the mount screws on the top mount plate.

like grips / back inside door storage and air pump. don't need . hood guard and light covers .
GREAT VIDEO! Thank you!
My favorite was the angry eyes! Just to make all the angry eye haters more angry. 😂

Dude, Hook me up with a link to those Easy-Bake oven lights you mention. 😂
I like it ALL. very nice ride! 👍
Love it mate AWSOME
Do you have the link on where you purchased your hood guard please
SUBWOOOOF WOOOF 😏👌🏿 is my favourite closely followed by the Exhause and Rear Bumper
U should add a Currie anti rock , yeti steer smarts steering upgrades, ARB lockers ..
I have the same headlights but feel the light pattern and output isn’t worth the $$
Great suggestions. I agree that the light pattern could be better on my Evo 2 could be better. I'm hoping the Evo 3 are improved.
Nice Rig. 👍
Does your light bar whistle?
I like: 1) your headlight replacement, 2) front bumper, 3) your rock slider steps. About that solid handle it's kinda a safety issue don't wanna poke my head on that.
arb compressor is what i need for my JK2012 2door
Well I now know what to get my cousin for Christmas and also cold air intakes do nothing unless they move the intake outside of the engine bay like on my Land Rover where the air intake is at the same height as the roof just trying to help out some people I’m not hateing
The taillight replacement, hood latch replacement, tires
That was all cool!
My mans just called a Jeep a truck
I like it alot!
Have you experienced any wobble with the suspension?
You had an Angry Bird grill. So sorry to hear that.
Is 3 ,tons w/Detroit’s Clayton long arm
Where did you get the license plate cover?
Im sorry but at 7:28 .. thats dumb lol . Isnt it just better to leave it inisde ? It will take up the same amount of space , if not less . Imean think about it . You gotta clear the zone in order for it to fit when you close it
Trying to deck my Jeep out I just got but i don’t know where to start
Im in the same boat. I think I'm going to start with a cold air intake and headlights first so I can get the most practicality out of my jeep until I have enough money to afford the larger things. Hope this helps!
You did not have one stupid mod. Nice 👏
What color is the Jeep?
I would love narrower wheels and bigger tires
your jeep was telling you something when it ripped the angry eyes off…
$16 gas cap cover to avoid dirt
Looks cool need a bigger Motor for be perfekt👍
Or a supercharger
9:16 “more cold air coming in, from the front, cleaner...”
mmmhhh NOT really!!!
Now, what have I done, that you haven’t done, that I think you should do? Install an oil catch can. A jeep isn't a 'truck' it's an SUV especially the broJeeps rolling around in 24" wheels and rubber bands and angry eyes!!!
I hate chrome but those are alright.
Why subs are those
The lesson of this video- just because you can modify a part of your jeep, dosent mean you should.
Bro, you lost me at angry eyes. Anything you may have mentioned after that is questionable.
Sponsored by........ RUGGEDRIDGE
Compressor is a waste of money on those wheels
Never had one day off for covid! It’s fake news
