I Spent a Night in a 5-Star Hotel in Addis Ababa | Skylight Hotel

Ethiopian Airlines provides free hotel stay in Addis Ababa if the transit time is more than 8 hours. Since I flew business class, I was given a free hotel voucher to a 5-star hotel near the airport. I did not need a transit visa but still had to clear immigration. Skylight Hotel is new and appears to be owned by Ethiopian Airlines. What's more amazing is that it's actually the biggest hotel in Africa!

Hello. Yes, philippine passport holder here. If you have a connecting flight with Ethiopian Airlines and the transit time is more than 10 hours, you will be given a hotel voucher upon check in from your airport of origin. This same voucher is what you’ll show at the immigration counter in Addis as they do not require transit visa for transit passengers. :)
