This single video has cleared doubts of thousands of people already, very clear and neat explanation. Thanks it helped a lot of Brazilians, Indians and Chinese
Going Awesome Places yeah I was layover with Ehtiopian Airlines. Everything surprisingly smooth. There are other programs for anyone willing to stay longer than 24 up to 72 hours. It is tour programs to some historical places, I don’t if how much I’ll need to pay for it. Good airline nonetheless.
That's money I don't have to spend for an overnight. At least I get aside visit to another country on the way to Capetown. I'm going on a multiple destination trip, first to Capetown, SA and then to Brisbane, Australia at the end of the year. Ethiopians are very beautiful looking people, but a lot of other Americans think I sound crazy for saying that. Most people in the US think it's desolate and everybody is starving because of those CARE commercials back in the days. They are a fine ancient civilization that goes back to King Solomon and (an Ethiopian) Queen of Sheba.
I'm glad this was able to bring back some memories. If you want to see more from my other trip to Ethiopia, check this video out >> th-cam.com/video/zk6t8_ihEcM/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for your video, we're going to have a 9h layover there and it's great to know how it works. It's so thoughtful of them to let people stay in hotels and even have a meal 😊
I know only a short glimpse but if you want to see more from Ethiopia, check out another trip I made to Ethiopia a few years ago here: th-cam.com/video/zk6t8_ihEcM/w-d-xo.html
Just catching up, great informative video Will. I believe the rule for getting the hotel/meal/shuttle/wifi vouchers is that you have a layover from 8-24 hours from one international ET flight to another international ET flight.
Whoa! That you couldn't take your bags with you in Addis Ababa really needs to be mentioned *everywhere* in their booking process. Still, that's such a neat program and I'm glad you got to check it out!
Yeah it's not that clear and that's why you can see we were caught by surprise. Hopefully this helps those that are looking for more information about it. It's a sweet program esp for anyone travelling throughout Africa!
They have the 8 hour rule that if you have a connection in this case same airlines or star Alliance member Airlines Less than 8 hour, you have to take out your language. More than 8 hours, you will have your luggage at your final destination.
Thank you for sharing the wonderful tips and great video with detailed explanation. I am currently in the midst of deciding which airline to choose. Might consider ET after watching your video.
Hi. Im trying to get info on this transit visa where your stay needs to be more than 12 hrs ....how did you manage to get the transit stay? Also ive been reading there is a transit fee - do know where it is paid?
From what I understand, it should still be free. If you watch the video, we basically just showed up at the counter and they knew that they had to arrange the transit stay. I of course did double check with them when we checked in. When you land in Addis, you'll head straight to the transit desk and they'll get you sorted.
This answered all my questions. I have trip coming up which happens to have a day layover in Addis Ababa i was wondering how hotel all that was going to go but this clear it up.
Aw thanks for stopping by and dropping a comment. Excellent! You'll be in good hands. Again, if you didn't catch the tip, make sure you have your yellow-fever taken care of at home before you go which I know seems silly since you're barely in Ethiopia. Also go in with the right expectations for the hotels in Addis and you'll be alright! :D Enjoy your time in Seychelles!
You should be ok!! We were nervous as well. When you check into your Ethiopian flight from your departure location remember to ask them and confirm the details. That’s where it all starts.
@@GoingAwesomePlaces i am in skylight hotel right now. thank you for your video. the process is diff if depart from shanghai, checkin counter will not give voucher, but when land at addis, you can go direct to layover counter asking for voucher, rest are the same
