In today’s video, I'll show you how to make your own special calligraphy brushes on Procreate. Without doing this, it can be tough to control your strokes and stay motivated to practice, especially when you're just starting out.
Having the right tool that suits your style and skill level is super important for getting the results you want. Otherwise, you might feel discouraged and give up after a few tries, or you'll miss out on important parts of training.

Thank you for a great tutorial. There are many brush tutorials available that walk through changing brush settings but few take the time to explain what each setting change means. It would have been helpful to have the exact shape or instructions on how to create it. However ....

Hi, thank you for the tutorial but I have a little bit issue here. My brush strokes have rough edges. Do you have any tips?
From day one of downloading this app I have been frustrated with it reacting nothing like what I want it to. None of the brushes react the way they look at all. My calligraphy brushes don't go from thin to thick at all. Even the stock script brush you showed reacts differently in this video. Mine is just a normal rounded line like a regular pen. Idk what I'm doing wrong or what settings I need to change but I'm about ready to quit all together out of sheer frustration.

I followed everything 3x over and i still my pen writes mono. We have the same apple pencil. Idk what i did wrong 😢
That is very strange 🤔 My first question would have been if you are also using an Apple pencil or another stylus. Hmmm I am also very curious why your brush won't function properly. I will try to make my final brush available in near future!

Oh, may I ask if you are using an Apple pencil or another stylus? I heard that if you created your custom brush based from a brush that was set as monoline, it would produce only monoline no matter how hard you press it 🤔 What is the name of the brush that you custom tweaked from?

Great question! Essentially you need to create a white shape with transparent background. Maybe that should be one of the future video topic I should cover 🤔

Hmmm... I wonder why the brush is not working the same 🤔 Are you using the Apple Pencil? Did you make sure under "Brush Studio" -> "Apple Pencil" -> "Pressure Size" the setting is set to MAX? If so, I am looking for a way to share the finalized brush file in the near future. I hope you consider subscribing to my channel so that you won't miss more details of the thick & thin brush when it's uploaded.
