I always love seeing the International Terminal at LAX. It reminds me of all the times I've flown to Asia. It's always been a good time visiting there.
4:30 they are currently working on the last connecting walkway between T3 and TBIT. Once complete you will be able to walk from T1 to T7 behind security all the way around the horseshoe. It will however be a long walk.
Also, there were a couple incidents after 9/11 where a passenger managed to go through screening without being screened, causing all the terminals on the south side to be evacuated and people rescreened, because the person could be anywhere (but before the Bradley walkway). They closed the tunnels but they were eventually reopened. They now have a better handle on things.
Be careful calling Tom Bradley the “International Terminal”. Many terminals are LAX are international capable, not just one. LAX cannot afford to separate domestic from international.
This is a nice system of bridges and tunnels between most of the terminals. I don't think I was in these terminals when I flew to Detroit a few years ago when I had a layover at LAX coming back from overseas. It is nice that they have this in place so that most people do not have to go back through security again. I'll be curious what it will be like when the new people mover opens up!
Great video like always Chris. I've never saw LAX that they wasn't doing construction when I work there and I'm talking about many years. The theme building down the bottom use to be employees restaurant.
Thanks for this video. I fly to LAX a couple times a year and could not remember where the Wolfgang Puck Pizza was. We ate there 2x and loved it. Now I not only know where it’s at, I know how to walk there.
Thank you so much for this video Chris I will have 2 international flights and one domestic over the next few weeks and I haven’t been to Lax in over 10 years
Very interesting to see that maze of a path behind security. So are these tunnels the famous ones with the mosaic Mondrian designs and were covered up somehow to protect the mosaic tiles? I've seen those tunnels in TV shows and movies. I know that they were closed to the public many years ago.
Gate Lice 🤣🤣🤣 Yeah I’m a Platinum member with Virgin and I guarantee every time we priority board there is someone trying to skip the queue. Great video Chris 👍🏻
Great video Chris (: I was flying from terminal 5 but wanted to try out the centurion lounge so I walked all the way to the international terminal and back 🙂
Very informative video, thanks! Question- In a week I am arriving at Terminal 4 (American) without any checked bags, and I want to check in with Qantas for departure out of TBIT, Is there a bridge I can take and kiosk I can use to avoid going through security at TBIT?
Oh awesome. i have to transfer from TBIT to T4 but i have to collect luggage and recheck so i think we have to use the connection on arrivals after re checking bag. but still awesome to see
I wouldn't say these walkways/tunnels are hidden because there are signs pointing to them. Of course, if someone is leaving from the United Terminal and they want to visit the American Express lounge, that's in Bradley, and then it's this crazy walk and back again (it would be quicker to walk outside, but you're outside of TSA screening). I would never do the tunnel and walkway thing and would just hang around the United Terminal.
It’s my home airport, so I’ve learned to love it. 😊 Definitely got better when I stopped driving a car onto the airport property and started using public transportation instead.
I remember the old days of going outside to catch a connecting flight at a different terminal and whatever people may think of LA and/or California the weather is not always dry and pleasant - the tunnels and bridges while a little hot or cold are an improvement.
Thanks for the helpful video. Will be on American Eagle to International to connect to flight. Please give me some advice. Should I go to T4 and walk to Bradley or bus better? Thanks.
T4 is right next to the international terminal.. so yeah.. from t4 just walk to the international terminal. And yes. The American Eagle flights typically come in to a satellite terminal.. so from there you bus to T4, then walk to the international terminal
Thanks for the video. Flying United tomorrow but want to visit the Centurion lounge at TBIT before my flight. Looks like a good 15 to 20 minute walk one way. I'll need to get to the airport early.
Some of the tunnels are open so as to allow connections between the same airline (4 to 5 for AA) and alliances (4 to 6 for OneWorld, 6 to 7/8 for Star Alliance because Air Canada is indeed in Terminal 6).
Well Chris, you certainly got your steps in on this video 😀. I've actually ran the length of horseshoe ftom Terminal 3 to Terminal 5 in 2018 to catch a flight to Dallas but not for the reasons you'll think. On my ticket it said Spirit Airlines was in T3 so I took a cab to the airport ( I live ten minutes away so theoretically I could take the bus and take a shuttle from rhe bus transit center and be on the property in no time) , I'm one ofvthose people that leave home two hours ahead of time and have never had trouble with going through security( non TSA pre ✔️). Any woo, when I got in the cab ,I told the driver what airline, Spirit I was taking and what terminal based in what it said on my ticket. The cab driver looked quizzically at me and started driving. I didn't realize until we go to the airport that I'd forgotten thst there had been a big switcheroo due to American Airlines renivating and taking over all of terminal 4. The cab driver and I were disagreeing about my terminal of course when i saw that AA had all of terminal 3, all of rhe news stories about the renos I'd seen on local news confirmed he was under right. I admitted my mistake and he did say he'd take me to t5 but I said I'd walk. I was out of breath by the time I got to my gate, but I still had plenty of time to spare. The Tom Bradley International Terminal remodel was started during the mayoral administrations of Jum Hahn and Antonio Villaraigosa and completed during that of Eric Garcetti., So 2003-2017ish. I'm looking foward to the extension of the Metro Crenshaw -LAX(K) line and the Automatic People mover being completed , I wanr to try both out. I have been on the K line once and took it from Inglewood ( one of the starions is around the corner from where I went to highschool and the tracks back then were union Pacific travks and no matter how early my mom and I would leave home, 9x out of ten, we'd get caught behind the gates and of course the train would be long enough to where you'd think it was coming from Dallas instead of the Ports of LA and Long Beach lol. For the furst month of my freshman year, I was late to school because of the train.
Glad you were successful on the sprint! And I'm looking forward to the people mover too! Metro train to LA not so much for me as it doesn't head to the OC quite yet 😀
Thank you so much for the video. It’s super helpful for my coming trip connected through LAX. If I need to go from terminal b to 6 with huge baggage, may I know where I can check in my baggage for my connected flight? Appreciated much of your advise
Hi Wendy -- as soon as you pass through customs (after you've picked up your luggage) there will be signs immediately afterwards directing you to baggage recheck. It's a special baggage check area just for connecting international flights
In particular the bridge to the international terminal from terminal 4 is new since 2016. And I'll add a road trip video to my live stream idea list. My next live will be on long flights. But long road trips sounds good too!
If my flight departs from T1 terminal, can I enter into the post-security area at Terminal B or T2 for example? Suppose I have checked in online and hold the e-boarding pass
Wow I will never have to walk in there again and I am happy. One of the perks of having your own plane is not doing that. I don’t think I could do that very often. Airlines are the biggest ambassadors for general aviation there is.
I have flown volairs on lax with a bus shuttle outside and it took me outside and I want to the airplane I borded the airplane outside it was so cool my experience I will do a video one day here but I will show the fans on my other chnnle the airport
I am visually impaired and the first time I made that walk from terminal B to terminal 7, I thought I had made a wrong turn and I was in an area that I wasn't supposed to be in LOL.
Flying into LAX from Dublin in 4 weeks - absolutely hate LAX every flight in and out we’ve ever had has been a disaster but it’ll be worth it to see some sunshine 😂
@@YellowProductionsThe good thing about flying in from Dublin is that you will be pre-cleared into the USA at Dublin, just as one is at most Canadian airports when flying to the USA. Therefore you will arrive as a domestic passenger and will be released straight to the street (or baggage claim).
If flying to asia with a connection in LAX can you just go through the tunnels to the international? Well I guess if you have separate tickets you have to go out and back in anyways and walk the horseshoe because of checked bags… I really hate LAX 😅 ALSO. Do you think you have enough time with a domestic arriving 7:55a and an international departing 9:30a (so like an hour and a half for luggage and checking/checking)?? Maybe I should just go with SFO 😅
90 minutes for normal connection would be OK. But a 90 minute connect on seperate tickets where you need to claim luggage, recheck, and clear security in a different terminal.. that'd be tough
@@YellowProductions thank you Chris! I’ll go with SFO then! The arrival time sucks (because it’s to NRT - also hate because of location) but hopefully we get out of customs early enough for the right train (no transfers 🤞 - traveling alone with kids 😅)
@@YellowProductionssorry to bother you again Chris, i ended up doing southwest to a later flight with United out of LAX. 07:55 arrival and then an 11:30 departure. I was just watching your LAX videos over again for prep (2 weeks left), so I’m coming into LAX on southwest and then United to HND. Do I have to go to Tom Bradley at all? Or just baggage claim, and then back to check in at United counter, and back in through security without walking the horseshoe? Travelling alone with my 4yo and 7mo so I want to make this as painless as possible lol😅 Thank you always!!! ❤
Didn’t like LAX much due to the remodelling work at Terminal 1. Absolute joke to keep the kid occupied before a 12 hour flight to Europe, hopefully in a few years it will be completed along with the metro skyline.
Sorry, I know you live down there, but I avoid LAX like the plague. The people there are not customer friendly. The car rental companies are the worst. I use Burbank and Santa Ana.

I'll have to do that walk once it's open 😀
Once that happens they should paint a yellow path on the floor similar to what they have at IKEA.
@@YellowProductions The walkway is open now between T3 and TBIT.
I'll be doing this walk (trek) next month. I'll be sure to leave a trail of breadcrumbs to find my way back. Thanks for the insight, Chris!

Nice, its really quite funny I've never found those tunnels and I always exit Tom Bradley and walk from the outside to the other terminals!
The walk from TB to terminal 7 is a real maze! It is much more streamlined to T1.
Great video like always Chris. I've never saw LAX that they wasn't doing construction when I work there and I'm talking about many years. The theme building down the bottom use to be employees restaurant.
Yeah. It's always under construction! Near story on the theme restaurant. I hope it actually reopens for something
I walked 40 mins from one gate to get to next terminal. I was thinking I was lost or missed a sign . Got there in the end .

Seems pretty nice inside vs other US airports which don't seem to have much in the way of shops and bars/food outlets.
Most definitely!
If I could give this video a dozen likes I would. We just walked thru these tunnels today and they were exactly where we needed to go!
Thanks Niven for the Dozen likes!
