OMG. Haven’t watched yet but thrilled to hear Ciara Mageean will be on the show!! What an amazing athlete and super role model. Proud of her over here 🇮🇪🇮🇪
Really enjoyed this ..... Had the pleasure of being able to attend a number of sessions in Budapest, and agree with Jake about this being the best World Championships, and a blueprint for future host cities.
I'm late to the comments but I just can't express enough how much I loved this episode!!!! The look at how the professional world of running works is so cool. It's just another deeper look in to the professional side of the hobby I love. Also on a comparison note. It's good to see that the pros are nervous before a race just like me! I'm just like the pros in another way! 😊
When I was in Birmingham last Summer, we saw the javelin cars and I think I spent my morning mainly looking at those (and the amazing running in between it).
You can hear the cultural divide in the discussion about pacing a potential champion. If we’ve learned anything from watching the Kenyans and Ethiopians (and could be true for the Moroccans), they come from predominantly collective societies. You many know you’re not as fast as X but you can keep up with him, so “sacrificing” for one of your own to win is something people would take in their stride. There are natural competitors within a group and you may or may not be part of that wave, but some are quite content to set the pace for someone else. There’s still a payout for competing, so we all “win”. I’m not Kenyan but it’s the kind of thing I would do if it leads to someone else to finish ahead of me.
I remember a Canadian swimmer who used to put a towel over his head so he couldn’t see anyone and they couldn’t see his face while he and the other athletes were cloistered away just before the event. I want to say it was Mark Tewksbury, but I’m not 100% sure.
Any chance of any cross training workout eg on a bike or in a pool as they can be very useful for when your injured and building up strength in certain areas
This was the hottest week of the summer, today was the hottest day of the summer in Hungary. So you had a very bad luck, but I hope you had a good time :)

Great job Andy! Could tell he was nervous but did an amazing job :)
Yes, sweet ☺️☺️
I don’t think he seemed nervous at all, just professional as always, agree though that it was a great job Andy x
That was fun and interesting to listen to! Great job with the interviews!
Thanks so much for watching! Who would you like to see us interview next?
@@runningchannel Jakob Ingebrigtsen would be really cool! Another 1500m runner, so I'm sure Andy would be psyched for that. 😉
@@runningchannel you could interview a guy from my school Colin Dodd

Seeing Jake achieve what he did recently, just under a year after this just solidifies the information in this video, amazing work 👏 🙌

Fantastic I love this insight
Brilliant session
Great video! Like Jake too, what a nice guy.
Are you coming to the first ever World Athletics Road Running Championship in Riga, Latvia? It is most certainly not going to be hot in October.
The best one in a quite a while, thoroughly enjoyed this from start to finish

*hate to say it* enjoyed Rick being in amongst the actual conversation 😬😬 sorry Sarah and Andy!
Hopefully he doesn't read this.
He’s from Staines, love the subtle Ali g reference just gets missed 😂 great show as usual guys, keep it real rich, Restecp.
Apologies Rick. I'm from Loughborough. Thanks for reading my question.
Not sure why Jake and Ciara were filmed in sepia but great interviews all the same!
3 hour flight British Airways from London Heathrow To Budapest.
Did you guys go via Australia?
I think via Australia may have been quicker 😂
You're meant to go via Austria, Alps, not kangaroos :)

Superb show. Ciara is amazing as an athlete but also sounds like someone to have a beer with !!
Agreed, with a line of "poking up my ring" - made me laugh!
@@dougieb5284puking up my ring is what she said I think 😂

Yes it’s been so hot! Even more respect for the athletes competing in this weather! 👏
You were here in Budapest...and didn't tell me???! 😭 😭 how dare you?!
...now I'll have to wait until the Olympics...😂
I hadn’t even read the previous comments before commenting, obviously it’s unanimous.
Good to see Rick not parked behind a desk for a change.
Don't encourage him.

Was that a conscious choice by the editor to make Mr. Wightman look like a wight, or did they just forget about white balance?
Heyyyy bro. Speak more slowly bro. Hard to understand you words.
