Well after a week or 2 of focused effort, following some of your tips here, my cadence has gotten to a very natural feel now at 165, though I still have to prod myself from time to time and pick it up a bit... for now it feels really good at that speed, very comfortable!! Also, if I notice I've brushed my shoe against my lower leg, I think about just widening between my feet ever so slightly too as you mentioned in another video. What I've noticed is that long runs are just a little less difficult now, AND I've been choosing hillier routes with relative ease too!!! I have another 2 hours to go on your audiobook and what a boost to my confidence THAT has been... with all I've learned I feel truly stronger and smarter and very confident in my training decisions and how I'm pushing myself AND in one day achieving my future goals, very patiently... slow and steady. My second ever marathon is in 16 days and I feel awesome!! Thanks so much Brodie!!!!! 🙏🏻♥🙏🏻
@@RunSmarterwithBrodieSharpe Well, just discovered that my app is giving me totally inaccurate cadence data, it’s actually around 175-180, not 160 at all!! Good to know as I thought I had to try to increase it even more !! 😁 These days am running to music specifically at 175bpm to help consistency!!
Hi,I am running about 3 years ,my cadence at my easy run about 177-178 but when run tempo or faster my cadence drop to 170 or below , I so confuse on it , did your research have someone like me?
@@RunSmarterwithBrodieSharpe yes that's correct I'm suffering from it band syndrome in both knees 😔 so I'm doing some running then walking gradually building myself up. I've had it band for 1 and a half years

I wouldn’t say that’s uncommon. I wouldn’t worry too much as they are both within a healthy range
@@RunSmarterwithBrodieSharpe thanks for your quick reply, "as they are both within a healthy range" solve my confuse 👍
Hi on my strava app it's got Avareage Cadence at 131spm and Max cadence at 170spm. Which one do I go with? Thanks
If it’s 130 I’m guessing there so some walking involved. I’d focus on the 170

Happy to help you out if needed. I have a playlist on my channel containing 10 videos to overcome any injury. Highly recommend you start there
@@RunSmarterwithBrodieSharpe Okay thank you I will have a look at those videos I'm just getting fed up with IT band syndrome now very frustrating.
