I was a Liberal Leftie when I first started watching you @drjordanbpeterson, I was watching one of your lectures and you said "Being conservative is something that happens to you when you get older", I thought no way will I ever be conservative, they're racist bigots. Now that I understand what communism is really about, I see that I was not a morally superior person back then nor did I have any special knowledge. "Tradition" only becomes uglier the further back you go, I mean, more power to you for playing the language game but put into practice nobody with a decent heart or of good nature actually wants those things to come back and be more prominent, so (rhetorical question) what even do we want to conserve if we're good natured peopl- oh.. right.

Add Peterson to Sadhguru. For one very important yet simple reason. Peterson is only telling us how to play the game, very good instructions without a doubt. But sadly, humans still need an eastern teacher to tell us what the game even is - a box top to the puzzle if you will.
Peterson is God King of the west, absolutely. And Jordan is always sneaking in mysticism to a point where I sincerely wonder if he knows that he is doing it. That is to say, does Peterson realize he is becoming a true Mystic. That underlying personality trait is the easiest of reasons to understand why he leaves every other thinker on stage in the absolute dust of his wake.

Often when I wish to explain a concept to someone, I find it useful to refer them to how it was expertly expressed by a source that aided me in my development on the subject, but this is much harder to do when the message is diluted and spread throughout snippets and scattered phrases across multitudes of casual discussions on diverse related topics.

      leftism:
Otherwise known as “progressivism” and even more inaccurately as “liberalism”, leftism is a term originating from the French Revolution of 1789, in reference to the political faction that opposed the French (so-called) king. However, the term is currently used in common discourse to describe those criminals who actively support (or at least tacitly condone) a host of OBJECTIVELY-WICKED ideologies and practices that contravenes dharma, such as non-monarchical governances and corrupt economic systems (particularly socialism, communism, fascism, and liberal democracies), egalitarianism, feminism, perverse sexuality (especially homosexuality, bestiality, and transvestism), multiculturalism, and the illegitimate abortion of innocent, defenceless unborn children. Cf. “dharma”.
In the past decade or two, the mass media, especially the motion picture industry and television production companies, has been aggressively promoting all the above CRIMINAL ideologies and practices, helping to expedite the destruction of human society. Recently, large corporations have jumped on the leftist bandwagon (so to speak), in order to profit.
As explicated in Chapter 11 of “A Final Instruction Sheet for Humanity”, the state of being of any particular human (or any other animal for that matter) is due entirely to his or her genetic sequencing and his or her conditioning. Therefore, the explosion of the leftist/liberal mentality in recent decades, particularly in Western countries, has been caused by poor breeding strategies overtaking the more conservative tradition of mate-selection of previous centuries (and indeed, millennia). In other words, due to the fact that criminal behaviour (especially the deviant sexual acts mentioned above) has become increasingly more tolerated, condoned, and even GLORIFIED in most countries, there has been a proliferation of corrupt genetic codes within the wider human population.
Unsurprisingly, the majority of leftists find it difficult to accept the fact that their criminal mentality is largely inherited (and of course, they are unwilling to acknowledge the blatantly-obvious fact that their ideologies and practices are intrinsically sinful, wicked, evil and immoral in the first place). It seems the consensus amongst leftist "intellectuals" is that every human mental trait is due entirely to one's environmental conditioning, rather than as a consequence of BOTH one's genetic sequence and one’s conditioning - a fundamentally-flawed assertion that cannot be scientifically-supported.
This term was very reluctantly used in the chapter on feminism. I say “reluctantly” because it is unlikely that the term will perdure for many decades longer. This is simple logic, since, as clearly demonstrated in certain chapters in “F.I.S.H”, human civilization cannot survive with such leftist practices and ideologies in place. If you happen to be reading this Holy Scripture a century or more after its conception, you will probably be residing in a nation (as opposed to a country) ruled by a monarch, following the implosion of post-modern, decadent societies. So, either the term “leftism” will eventually become redundant and obsolete, or else, human civilization will devolve into a decadent, diseased state of existence similar to that of the prehistoric era, when the peoples of the world resided in caves or shacks, subsisting on whatever food can be sourced from the surrounding bushland. I trust that you who are reading these wise words will endeavour to influence your social circles to adhere to right-leaning ideologies, such as monarchical governance, an entirely free-market economy, sexual chastity, and all other virtuous principles.
Fear not, for GOD is with you!
P.S. As a general rule, it seems (at least anecdotally) that the farther left-leaning is a person, the more physically (and of course, psychologically) UGLY is that person. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to prevent leftists from propagating their mutant genes. 🤡

Do you ever wonder why we seem to rarely hear from voice who were born and bred and all along from a young age chose conservativism, who never had a particularly "liberal phase" as a teenager or young adult, who never blindly accepted anything about our liberalised modern world, from enlightenment principles, to modern authoritarianism in teachers and trust in science and it's supposed experts?
I'm quite sure there are great merits in making our own mistakes and learning from them, I'm sure it's inevitable, but I'm also quite sure that there are those of us who have learnt from other people who came before them, and not made the same mistakes. Someone like Roger Scruton perhaps.

Shame I wasn’t able to see him in Manchester as my daughter was sick…Dr Peterson, you answered some fundamental questions on morality and meaning for me during my mid 20’s having been lost to drugs and alcohol since age 13 after growing up in an abusive home. I was drawn to anarchism, radical left dogma as it accurately reflected my life and I was under the delusion that supporting my peers would create a large enough problem that those in power would be forced to rectify it…anyway the painful and truly traumatic life I had lived up to that point changed upon my discovery of the good Dr all those years ago. He effectively plunged his hands into the filth and dragged me from my nihilistic mess onto a road. And told me which way value, meaning and personal responsibility was. I trusted him and began my journey and my god, where I may have beeen had I not found his words I shudder to think. And now this manifesto should be taken as dead serious. I couldn't make sense of her leaving and long story short I just wanted to die and got into some really bad stuff. I did end up choosing recovery after a flawed life taking attempt I came across a few of your seminars. You were the first man I ever heard talk about how important it is for a man to love themself. You helped me find myself. I actually ended up finally getting properly diagnosed with ADHD at age 28. I remember how good it felt to finally be able to understand myself and my mind better. I had to restart my life and it was so hard to watch younger friends get married and have children. I understand I'm blessed to just be alive. I just wanted to tell you thank you for being a voice that helped guide me out of the hell I was living in. You're an honest man just trying to make the world a bit brighter and helping the younger generations think. I always listen to your interviews. I hope you never change. Its sick to see how some people try to ruin your name for being that voice for men.
    God Bless you Sir

Superb summary, Jordan. I might consider adding three conservative values to the list at the risk of making it a bit longer. The three: gratitude, duty and obligation. My rationale? In a world in which responsibility, stewardship, and justice are paramount, one must be grateful to those who came before us for passing them to us, and one has a duty to pass them on to future generations through not just word of mouth but through actions. In a properly moral world, one has no choice in this endeavor; one is obligated to do it if one believes in these values. One has a duty to uphold them and an obligation to inculcate them in future generations. In other words, the list is a package deal; any value that is forgotten diminishes the whole. One does this not through words as much as through actions. Actions are the difference between those who are moral and those who pretend to be moral (in today's lingo, virtue signaling). Oh, and one should not diminish the challenge this places on citizens. These values were developed over time, and time tested, because we are not only human, we are human animals and understand that you can take the humanity out of the animal but you can't take the animal out of humanity. These values were hard won and easily lost again, as we are experiencing today, in the 21st century.

    • @curtismrasmussen
      @curtismrasmussen ปีที่แล้ว +1

Values aren't developed, they are discovered and then elucidated, established, and fostered in a living, acting belief structure.
But, one wonders why gratitude, duty, and obligation aren't on the list. I surmise it is because when one is humbly picking up and carrying the heaviest duty comprised in his or her list of moral obligations on a daily basis that the natural outcome is deep gratitude.

Sign me up, Dr. Peterson! This resonated to me at a deep, deep level simultaneously as I was consciously digesting your words and meaning. As someone who has watched with great sadness and anger at the attack on Western values and attempted corruption of once great institutions, and living in a country being riven by a Woke, divisive, authoritarian Prime Minister (New Zealand), this gave me something I thought I had lost in the institutions of education, government, etc., - hope. Hope that Western values are not lost - plus something for me to aim for. Thank you for your vision and I look forward to hearing and learning more.
PS., For what it's worth, as it is something which I know you are conscious of, I personally like the fire and anger when you are greatly roused by an issue - far from off putting, I find it energising and inspiring. It is neither scolding nor petulant - rather it is like a laser, controlled, focused and beaming straight in to the heart of an issue. Plus it slaps the stupid out of me.

It was just too far above my pay grade. In my opinion, for this manifesto to be engaged with for discussion and/or embraced by the average man such as me you are going to have to bring it way on down to our level. It is not possible to elevate en-mass the entire population to your lofty level of intellect (I don't say "lofty" as a negative) but I know you possess the skill in language that could allow for you to "condescend to men of low estate" to use the Apostle's wording. I for one would very much appreciate it, and doing so would allow me to confidently understand it, and explain it to others. My wife and I follow your many videos on DW and DW+ with much interest. Your ability to think deeply and explore thoroughly is remarkable. Press on sir.

Dr. Peterson, I believe you have struck upon something much needed, that has a greater resonance and truth than any party platform. Particularly appreciated were the concepts of the sovereign citizen and justice. Your brilliance is on full display in this segment and the language selected is consistent with a cornerstone document.
The issue at hand is thus, I am a 41 year old man who identifies as a conservative. I actively seek your viewpoint and content, including attending your Beyond Order tour speaking engagement in Nashville this past March. I hold you in high esteem, believing you to be a brilliant thinker and positive model. I hold a graduate degree from Penn State, I am a leader in business, and earn a salary in the top 10% of American individual incomes. Based upon self directed online tests, my IQ is somewhere between 120 and 130 depending upon the assessment. I give these details not to boast, but to set the context for the following feedback.
The message as given will not be consumable by the masses. I listened to this manifesto at a time when I could devote my full attention and still found myself grasping to keep pace and understand. I fear that an individual who is less open to this message or who is less able to understand the rich language use, would throw the baby out with the bathwater so to speak.
To avoid this scenario and to richen the appeal of your message, I would encourage you to draw upon your upbringing in Alberta and consider how you might deliver this manifesto to a friend that went to work in the oil patch at 16. I suspect the points made would resonate deeply with such a friend, and plain speaking would be appreciated and rewarded with support and sharing of your message and vision of conservatism.
You are doing important work and I wish to see it successful. This position must rise above the noisy din of modern life. May the Lord keep you and bless your efforts Dr. Peterson.

That's why I want to understand more about what you mean or how you will define some of the concepts you use. Semantics are important to avoid prejudice and elaborate a judgement that it would be based in a poorly understood predicament. You talked about liberty and how important it is but, what is liberty? @@brando3342 Yes, poetry is not particularly good for political speeches or speeches in general. Off the top of my head, Churchill is quite literally the only person in history I can think of who was successful at combining the two in any significant way. Great political orators of the 20th century, where surprisingly plain in language, and used physical emotion more than anything to convey the message.

It's hard to find your way home, when others, for whatever reason, guided or misguided, change the streets and profoundly complicate everyone's attempt to find their way home. Home for us is being fully human. Being human is who and what we are. Finally someone who's credentials and intellect which are undeniable, has the strength to stand up and point at that which is fully human. Bravo sir!

Thank you for taking the time to write and record this. I am investing time and effort into learning more about far left, far right, liberal and conservative. Without a true understanding we cannot make an informed decision and continue to be confused vote slaves.
