This is musicianship of an altogether exceptional order. Doyen (no relation to Jean Doyen) turns these often unassuming miniatures into passionate tone poems. You won't hear anyone else play Chabrier like this (no, not even Marcelle Meyer). Fabulous. I'd never even heard of Ginette Doyen until an hour or so ago, but am now catching up with all her recordings. Thanks so much for posting.
