I cried when I heard this for the first time because I too have prayed and said exactly the same thing. "God please take me home". This country is falling before our eyes and it hurts so badly!
I understand his feelings. I got a cancer (Mesothelioma) diagnosis in March of 2022. I pray for a miracle but at the same time I just leave it in God’s hands because the future of this country is scary. Maybe God will take me home before things get worse. Praying for God’s will to be done.

You both nailed it. We can only endure so much for so long. Is that why God wants us to want Him inside of our lives, heart, mind & soul, instead of just wanting only a place of refuge to escape to? Are we undergoing a huge test? So many questions, too little time.
