@thistubeisfucked clueless yes. But that's just inexperience. His coaches could have sorted him out easily if they wanted to.
Also dudes weight wasn't making it any easier on him. Hard to get a good stable position when your resting on a jello filled waterbed. Not hating on him, I was morbidly obese at one point and my shooting suffered greatly any time I had to do positional stuff. Losing the weight helped a ton.
Think he’s also scared of the rifle seen him close his eyes a couple of times as he pulled the trigger

Matt: 14 pounds
Matt was flinching! He blinked right before pulling the trigger.
Dude was flinching big time. He looked too keyed up. Fast heart rate could throw a shot off just as bad. I don't know if it really matters, but I was taught to feel my heart beat and try to shoot on a slow exhale in between beats. Just something my pappy showed me when I was a kid. Never had any real training, but works for me. Brings home the meat.

Looked to me like he was in to much of a hurry to get his eye out of the scope and follow the shot. Instead of keeping his sights until the ding came knocking.
He half arsed his shots, round barely left the barrel before he popped his head up and loosened his grip.

Its cause he is left handed but right eye dominate, he naturally wants to close and open the wrong eye

When you're so chubby that laying on your stomach screw's with your breathing and dude's gut gets in the way of letting your head be where it needs because the gun is in a different spot than his head your going to have messed up eye to scope position, pretty sure he even mentioned that he couldn't get proper full picture in the scope proving what I'm saying, this is where a big guy would do way better at a bench/table, Matt wanted to hit the target not learn military prone position. I'm positive I could have Matt hitting from a table with a chair in less than a box of bullets, but that wouldn't be as funny as making fun of fat city boy who's never hardly shot a gun before now would it.

one of the biggest things ive found that improved my shooting was learning to ignore the incoming recoil and allow myself to be 'surprised' by the shot and just letting it hit you. much easier with a efficient brake. no tensing of muscles, practically be limp, but rifle in proper position, let it happen.

I'm a recent subscriber and I love the way things feel so random on this channel. One day shooting a bow, the next installing sprinklers, the next out buying guns, the next golfing (if you can call it that), and now sniper school.

Matt, think of it as a golf swing. keep your head down until you're completely through the motion. Pick up too soon and you'll fuck up the shot. I'm no sniper, but that helped me out.

one thing that i learnt as a valuable lesson which makes sense when you think about it but you dont realise it.
which is to NOT lift your Head off the stock after firing stay down on the rifle and look through the scope. when you jump up your not gonna see if you hit or not past 600m so theres no point jumping off the rifle. and then once you stay down on the rifle and see where you impacted you can then hold off and send another round to hopefully hit

He’s closing his eyes on the shot and missing his follow thru. I didn’t catch it till the end of the video. When he wasn’t wearing sunglasses. Nice job spotter!
Matt was definitely flinching as he pulled the trigger. Plus the reason he was seeing black circles in the scope is because the eye relief wasn't set properly for him. I bet once he got clear vision through the optic and fixed his flinching. He could smack each of those target at least out to 6. A lot more comes into effect pass 800 yards.
Im really loving the new direction the channel is taking. Really dig your incites into long range shooting.

Oh man... The amount of range days in my Canadian military career, looked a lot better then I remember it. And that feeling of sending it Rob, almost calling it in the air. My Warrant officer hated it, "Don't adjust until it hits!" Thanks for the video, helped me remember some things. There is no way I would do it on video, no witness then.
