    Thanks for the follow-up video, and for covering what I wanted to know. It seems the thumb release and pocket hook work as designed and intended, so I'm going to order one and try it our myself.

      Thanks Jim. I appreciate you watching the video and for helping me get better at my videos. I’m glad it helped you out. I don’t think you will regret the purchase. My favorite holster I’ve ever carried with.

    I'm sold. Thanks for posting. Just ordered directly from Vedder - $53.11 with shipping & tax. I will be using this as my winter carry holster, as I live in the Midwest, and will be wearing a heavy winter coat (normally carry IWB). This looks like it would work well to carry inside a winter coat pocket. I like that it's kydex, and completely covers the trigger without sacrificing access. Got the thumb tab too.

    I got the Vedder Pocket Locker for my Sig P938. Great holster. Yeah, the draw might be a little slower than say an AIWB, but with practice you can get some speed.

    Bought one for a P365, because of the closed bottom of the holster, it adds way too much to the overall length of the pistol/holster combination. An open end holster could remove almost 1” in overall length and would fit a pocket better. Vedder products are hi quality.

      I love these things. I won’t pocket carry in anything else. In my opinion I think they are the best on the market. If you don’t mind let me know what you think when you finish testing or do a video. I’m anxious to hear your thoughts on it. Thanks for watching brother hope you and your family are doing well. God bless.

    Thanks for the vid. I see that they offer it without the thumb tab so do you think you could draw without using your thumb? Meaning will the hook alone work?

    • @9milSarge
      @9milSarge  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah hook would definitely keep the holster in the pocket but to me the tab is a great option that makes it so easy to draw. It a free add on to so I would never get one without the tab. Thanks for watching. I hope the video was helpful.

      @@9milSarge Also, if you're running a 1911 style pocket pistol like a Kimber or Sig P938, that thumb pad is where your gonna be anyway to drop your safety down as you draw.

    Can you speak to the comfort and what brands of pants/jeans you've tried this combination with?

    • @9milSarge
      @9milSarge  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It carries best in cargo shorts of course but also works well in jeans and 511 style Caro pants. The only time it's kind of tight or hard to get out is while driving or sitting down which is to be expected. In the case where I'm driving and wearing 511 style pants I put it in the cargo pocket.

    Would you recommend the p365 as a first handgun for a new firearm owner?

    • @9milSarge
      @9milSarge  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure. It’s small and affordable but I would say it is Better suited for concealed carry than home defense but could be used for both.

    Does the thumb break tab (enough though it's rounded down) dig into the thigh after a long wear time?

      I didn’t for me. If you wear tight pants or have pants or shorts with small pockets it might.

    Retention on a pocket holster? You’re kidding, right?

    • @9milSarge
      @9milSarge  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not at all pickup a Vedder pocket locker and check it. Absolute has retention it’s not adjustable with a retention screw type of retention but it is retention. Of course it’s not safariland ALS retention, but yes it has great retention. Thanks for watching.

    • @mountaindont34ify
      @mountaindont34ify 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont think retention for a pocket holster is a good idea imo. I dont think retention is really necessary for a pocket holster. But if I get some spare money I might try it out

    • @heychupacabras
      @heychupacabras 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mountaindont34ify I think it's a great idea. I can carry without having any worries of my pistol slipping out accidentally. Once that hook hooks onto the side of your pocket, the retention is released no problem.
