    I just wanted to mention that this did work for me. I’m 31 and have been shade tree working on cars since I was 17. This might be the tightest bolt of any car or 4x4 I’ve encountered. Took a lot of determination.

    Damn man this method saved my whole water pump project!!! Thank you so much for showing me this method!!! Four years ago I was stuck at the same bolt, the bump starter method would not work on my is300

    I did it the other way and used the water pump and the alt and ac compressor was not in the loop. Didn't trust the AC clutch bearings. Glad you got it!

    Thank you so much man! That was my first time ever removing crank pulley bolt,and with you tip,it couldn’t be easier! Appreciate that!

    Thank you buddy, we struggled all day and this video did the magic

    Awesome method, worked to remove and install pulley, on install you have to route the belt differently but the concept is still the same, would recommend.

    Thanks a ton buddy, definitely appreciate you and your help. I managed to do it with the serpentine belt tensioner still connected as well!

    I couldn't get mine loose this way....but the opposite worked to tighten the crank bolt.

    Bro! Thank you and that other dude so much! I struggled with this thing so bad until I saw this video. Even my "1200 ft lbs nut busting" impact couldn't take it off. I also heated the damn bolt and did the starter bump method and nothing. This thing works guaranteed!!! Awesome belt engineering lol

    Chain grip works great use a piece of old belt over the pulley it'll leave no marks on it

    • @transportationdisasterprev6250
      @transportationdisasterprev6250  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      These can be unusually difficult to break loose. I did try a chain type gripper in the past, but ended up breaking it. Of course with any automotive job, your experience may vary.

    I just throw a socket and breaker bar on it, crank the engine with the key for a sec. Then the breaker will hit the ground and break loose the bolt.

      I've tried this method on several 2jz engines and rarely works. These crank bolt are notorious for being difficult to remove. Toyota has a special tool that is essentially a 3 foot breaker bar. The old "turn the engine" trick is dangerous and I would never recommend it

      @@transportationdisasterprev6250 weird. I've done 10 plus times and always works first try 🤷‍♂️

      I've had it work once or twice. I still don't like doing it that way. Had some catastrophic fails. Be careful out there man 🤘

    One thing to add, would have been helpful if you took the belt off and then demonstrated the order you wrap the belt but otherwise good video. Thanks!

    Doesn't work even a little bit. At the junkyard. Tried it on 4 separate cars. NOTHING!!! I thought it was funny how undont actually demonstrate it when the bolt is tight

    Howdy. My bolt came off of my is300 from the power steering pully. Do you know the size or where I might be able to find one.
    Thanks

      I would take the pump to a true value or ace hardware type store. They'll be able to match it. I've had to get special bolts there plenty of times

    Why would you unbolt the tensioner first

    • @transportationdisasterprev6250
      @transportationdisasterprev6250  ปีที่แล้ว

      I showed the belt routing that I used to lock the pulleys and described the process. Watch the video again and pay attention. I used an old belt from an is300. Any old belt will do.

    Doesn’t 100% work Btw don’t get lied to like me

    • @transportationdisasterprev6250
      @transportationdisasterprev6250  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry that you had difficulty, but as you can see from these comments amd other videos on youtube showing the same procedure, it is a verified way of removing this bolt. Accusing me of lying simply because you failed is pretty lame.

    • @brucespruce1081
      @brucespruce1081 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Albert Simpson obviously if it was 100% it would’ve worked for me

    • @transportationdisasterprev6250
      @transportationdisasterprev6250  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@brucespruce1081 never did I say "this is guaranteed to work 100% of the time" furthermore it doesn't justify calling me a liar. Others have had success. So I'm clearly not making it up for whatever reason.
      I made this video to give a helpful tip, not start a discussion of your skill level, or the veracity of my procedure. It does work if done correctly. So piss off

    • @brucespruce1081
      @brucespruce1081 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Albert Simpson at 3:13 you didn’t say it 100% works?

    • @transportationdisasterprev6250
      @transportationdisasterprev6250  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@brucespruce1081 I stand corrected. Nevertheless, It does 100% work. You are the only variable causing this procedure to fail. Reacting negatively to a video that is only trying to help because you are incapable of repeating it shows how entitled and inept you really are. You are bitching about something you got for FREE. This is Like returning something to a store because you broke it, expecting a refund. You are a complete fool sir. Take you failure else where. Like I keep saying, read the other comments. Lots of other people have been successful. I got this idea from another guy on youtube who was successful. You're the only nimrod who can't get the job done and you're blaming me? Again, piss off sir
