These are so fun. I was at the 50th anniversary Mini races at BIR and the s/c Minis sounded like the Roadrunner when coming toward us. We might lose a little sound here, I think because he is decelerating right before he comes to the camera. Awesome car!
This is the best Austin mini footage i ever saw on TH-cam. Very good mate... i love this mini and if you dont mind, i am going to spray paint mine like this one :). Keep alive the A-Series mates..
Here in America, we're overrun with those fart-pipe equipped Honda Civics. Your car is the way a four-cylinder front driver ought to sound and perform! I primarily like the big American muscle cars, but have a soft spot in my heart for vintage Minis. Very cool car you've got there!
Your right! gearbox is mini spares evo diff with 3.44 final drive, straight cut drops 1-1, and minispares straight cut gearset. Gearing is a bit high for accelaration but engine does very well to pull the car up through the revs, gearing allows 115mph at 7500 rpm,engine will pull to 8000 but has done its best by 7500. This engine was built and dynoed by Nick Swift at swiftune and is very strong and could be made to give more power but i wanted it to be reliable and still use it hard,which i can.

"Gearbox straight cut gears don't go BRAWWW, BRAAWWWW," sorry to inform you, gearbox straight cut gears do make a similar wine to a supercharger, as do belt driven cams with the timing cover removed (AE86), as do gear driven cams (LS1)

I've got a 1982 City 1000 that looks quite similar to this.... but with no supercharger, standard gearbox and roughly a third of the power. Ah well. 1 out of 4 aint bad. If only mine sounded like that, I'd be happy.

That's a straight cut gearbox. You can tell by the sound it makes when they let off the gas. Supercharger a don't make that sound.
