To be fair while the movie is overall good, I think that it has significant flaws. To people who have not gotten into Ultraman it kinda makes no sense. It's also very expositive, ignoring the show and tell aspect that should be in every story (this is a problem in Shin Godzilla too but whatevs). In addition, the story feels rushed as hell and there doesn't seem to be any stakes other than mere statements made by the characters which are then immediately handwaved away. Also, we never got to see why and how Ultraman came to love humans; he just kinda read some books and that's pretty much the only thing he did to try to understand human culture. Lastly, the final fight Ultraman had between Zetton was kinda underwhelming, Zetton was built up to be this Super weapon that can destroy light years and easily defeated Ultraman in the first fight, but in the rematch he was pretty much easily defeated with Ultraman punching him super hard into a 6th dimensional black hole or something.
All in all a good movie and better than 90% of all Ultraman content Tsuburaya released recently, but I think it is a bit overrated.

@@linkersjacken8032 IKR, Shin Ultraman originally started out viewing humans as cattles in a herd, implying that he could care less about them, but after we see him reading some books for like 5 seconds, he immediately did a 180 and was willing to violate the codes of his planet and die for humanity.
This is why I’d have preferred to have Baltan in the movie rather than Zarab. The original Baltan came to earth because their planet became uninhabitable do to their weapon tests. I wanted that version of Baltan to be in the movie. At least that way, Ultraman is presented with a dilemma in which he is forced to choose to help the humans or baltanians and explain why he loves humanity.
Sorry for the long rant, I really wanted to see the movie when it first came out and just came out kinda disappointed, especially after the master peace that was shin Godzilla.

I feel like those people are the reason why ultraman starting to care about humanity. I mean he trusted an analyzer taki to figure out a way to stop zetton.
Well there is some changes and decisions when it comes to making a 2 hour only movie. The writers probably had to rush the story when you trying to add multiple arcs/episodes in this one movie. But still it's a very solid good movie overall.

@@linkersjacken8032 Yeah he began to change after fusing with Kaminaga, yes, but that’s the thing: he changed for seemingly no other reason than just “the plot said so.” We don’t see why he changed, hell we don’t even see him understand human culture minus that one 5 second scene where we see him reading some books. We don’t know why he decided to trust the SSSP members, he kinda just does (the other SSSP characters besides Asami feel underdeveloped too imo).
Yeah I’m aware of that. I’m just proposing a way to solve one of the issues I had with the movie. Replace a pointless villain with one that actually challenges Ultraman (at least morally). They probably also did take Baltan into account too considering how Zarab and Ultraman’s air fight seemed to be reminiscent of the first fight Ultraman had with Baltan.
I’m not saying the movie was bad, like I said it’s better than most things Tsuburaya is currently doing with Ultraman, but everyone treats the movie like terminator 2 levels of good when I don’t see how.

​@Muhammad Hanzo I am good public but clearly there is no depth in the scenario the characters are not charismatic or interesting the action is not very present the animations of the ultraman is low budget, in short i did not like and i was bored because of its predictable scenario.

If you compare it to other movies with bigger budget, i kinda agree, but if you compare this to other Ultraman series, this is masterpiece.( It's kinda hard if you watch this movie if you don't have any references about Ultraman tho.) but you know, each on their own respective opinion.
