    This video saved me SO MUCH MONEY. Our Santa Fe desperately needed new plugs, but I knew it was going to be an involved process. This video is absolutely fantastic, and I couldn't have done the job without it. The fact that you take your time, and show and explain everything makes all the difference. THANK YOU!

      Ok ok help me now then please. The one thing I am unsure about is what manifold that is and what gasket to get. I went to the parts store and and they had so many different kind of gaskets. Which do I get?

    Just did my 2009 Santa Fe and this video was a saviour. The two air hoses under air intake at the top right of the video were a b@*&h to get at. WIthout removing them I was able to move the entire assembly up and to the right which allowed plenty of room to access the rear plugs. Not as pretty as what he did but still worked. Thanks for the video.

I have watched your video over and over again both of them pertaining to my 2007 Hyundai. You should have show, when removing the 3 screws on the back side of the intake manifold. Just too quick to show that the manifold was removed and not taking the time to show where the 3 P.i.a screws / bolt are.

  • @jwill9877

    If you take out the front corner studs you don't have to take out anything to the right of the manifold. You only have two bolts in the back of the manifold and you don't have to mess with all the other brackets and what not. I had mine off in less than 15 minutes

Easily found online. I came here to check something else, but it's sadly not in this video. Not his fault, I'm a lazy cheater when I can be responsibly.

    Jim, thanks for the video. I am curious, did you drain the coolant fluid? I read the Chilton manual before hand and it stated to Drain coolant fluid...? Is this IF the small hoses are connected, though I noticed you did not take those apart? also, the order of tightening screws back...does that matter? within the manual it gave an order of A-H and then 1-8. Should I follow that procedure when putting Manifold back? Thanks again, this was a great tutorial.

      If you pinch off the small hoses that carry the coolant there is no need to drain and fill antifreeze.I did pinch off the hoses in the video.As for the tightening sequence yes follow the manual or you can follow what I did in the video.Start in the center and work your was to the ends.Thank you for stopping by the shop

    Jim,
    Do you find yourself checking fluids on all the cars that come into your shop to save the customer from catastrophic failures and for your own liability while it is in your possession? I see many videos where a mechanic is working on something specific and notice no brake, steering fluid (examples) even though that is not what it came in for. It wouldn't be good for a different issue to arise out of customer neglect while in your shop. Just wondering...

    Sorry for being late to the party, but would anyone have a link to the ignition wires? I'm changing out the spark plugs and coils but the wires for a 2007 are impossible to find..

    Hi Jim, do you know the reason why all the newer cars come with engine covers? I do not see the sense in using them. THANKS FRIEND

    • @jimthecarguy
      @jimthecarguy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the manufactures try to make it more neat and modular.

      The engine cover is supposed to help protect the hood paint from excessive heat

      @jimthecarguy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It may help a little.I think the plugs should be replaced at around 60,000 miles

      It's probably the ignition coils that's the problem I'm having changed the plugs yesterday but didn't change coils because of cost found out I got three bad coils

    • @sufferinggift2345
      @sufferinggift2345 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      D25864 I’m curious? Did you have this problem before the spark plug change ?? Or you put the coils back on and had the problem? Thanks

    This was a #$%^&*()_+ because you cannot see the brackets that hold down the intake plenum manifold, I got it taken care of and it's all back together but it took 5 hours of struggling, I can do in now in and hour+ now that I can find and know where everything is, back of my legs are like... FORGET IT now sheesh! lol
