I bought a Phoenix Yellow Integra Type-R brand new back in 2000 and just bought a Championship White FL5 Civic Type-R last week. I was seriously looking at the Integra Type-S, but I decided to go with the breed of the car and not the nameplate. Love my FL5.
@@Boostlagg thanks, you proved my point. Quattro and 4motion are terrific for women. From 993 onward, the 911 Turbo or Turbo S is AWD. The GT3 and GT2 are rear wheel drive only. F1, rear wheel drive only. Indy, rear wheel drive only. Learn to drive!
@veedee4860 😂. How wrong you are mate. Rwd and awd don't translate to you driving. People get awd so they can drive in the rain snow and cold genius. Rwd lack practicality and safety. The only good awd system is quattro. It's not going to make driving the car no skill. You just know Jack shit about cars 😂
@@veedee4860 also so tell me you drive a gt3 everyday? For a rwd to be good it's expensive and it's still unpractical. You just know absolutely nothing about cars or handling.
I have a 2007 FN2 type R Civic ( UK ), low mileage for year 136,000 with the awesome k20 engine, i think the last of the normally aspirated 8,500 rpm motors, and even though it's deemed the worst type R ( Clarkson ) but i love it, drives like new, and that engine still bounces off that rev limiter with ease.
Exactly, gonna talk about the history of Type R without the FD2R is a Shame tho!! which FD2R is the last True JDM. But I don't expect Nort American martket to understand it since they never driven one or even see one (most of them might not even know that it is exist). But it is one of the best if not the best Type R ever been build.
@@7zEki I remember there were some videos of Civic owners in the States buying the bodywork and parts to modify their Civics to look like a FD2R, but yeah, most might not know about this JDM model
@_bermuda yes, FD2 is JDM and not USDM, but in the US, there are Civics FA like the 2007 Civic SI, the 2010 Civic LXS? which have quite a similar chassis to the Civic FD?
The turbo was the reason due to emissions Also the FK8 looks like the paisas took it and added a 90’s body kit and big 20 inch wheels with the red pin stripe they would do
I grew up with 2000 Type R Integra's , I don't like any of the four doors cars. I think of the type r as a coupe model, sucks they didn't take this route.
If a two door Type R was available I might be interested. The four door looks like a family sedan to me. So I’ll just stick with my nicely modded MK7 GTI for now.
Not sure it's consistent - I'm faster in my FL5 than FK8.. depends on conditions and driver... tracking it, the FL5 has been quite a bit faster for me.
Nothing beats the old school 90’s honda b series vtec engine at its pinnacle especially the b16b & b18c with such raw, mechanical & high revving engines

Wow, you've got great taste. Love to hear it!
AWD means more weight, more maintenance, complexity, and in some cases lack of top end.
AWD is another way of saying I don’t know how to handle a front or rear wheel drive car.
@@veedee4860 thats why Audi Quattro dominated Touring and Rally.

Love Honda! Was a Service Technician for them for 5 years.
I’m so glad you started with the notorious B.I.G.

i love both mine .............. I have a 21 red one and at 24 grey one They both are so much fun to drive....not sure which one I love best

Very nice! We are big Type R fans over here.
Well done love letter to my favorite badge. I’ve owned a few Integra Type-R’s, and I’ll never let my current one go.
no mention of the Honda Civic FD2R in a Type R video?

And the european FN2 Civic Type R. So there are 7 different Civics with the red badge from factory
FD2 wasn’t USDM.

You forgot to mention the euro R accord, it’s basically a type r whit another name but has the engine, the suspension and the other accessories.
The heat issues people should get a performance radiator then for tye fk8
