@TheArmyPainter, this is an awesome concept and product... I can't wait for the Ninjon version to come out 😊... in the meantime, I'll be getting these!
This is one of my favorite videos that you have done in a while. Thank you for sticking with the painting. Too many channels want to become too diverse and do different stuff than what we all fell in love with them for. You’re the best!
@ it’s creators like you that keep my painting style and skill evolving. You genuinely show me interesting new ways to give a try. As a dad with little time to paint, I just get a ton of enjoyment at least seeing someone else share such fun and impressive paint schemes.
your hint about always pushing your highlights one step over what you think it should be has been incredibly helpful coming back into mini painting after a 25+ year hiatus - thanks Jon!
Jon, I absolutely love how this was painted dude. Very artistic and fun. Loving the use of colours too. Nice little peice right there. Thanks for the quality content as always. We all appreciate how much time and effort goes into these video's. Quarter of a million subs! That's great! :)
Usually, I sit back and watch videos about products with some skepticism but this video in particular was amazing! I mean seriously John Blanche working with The Army Painter to bring his color schemes to life. Also, Ninjon that model turned out beautifully! When I saw the final product my jaw dropped as it could be the centerpiece to an army or a squad. Heck, honestly I would just love it to sit on a shelf and look amazing! It makes me really want to try my hand at Blanche’s style (it will probably not turn out as cool as yours but worth a shot 😆) Anyways, thank you for show casing the paint set, cool new models and also a 3D printing ad (which I have already ordered a Bambu Mini myself)
Like many out there, I thought the whole "Blanchitsu" thing focused on cold, desaturated color schemes and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that was not the case. Then again, I'm not near the GW fanboy that some out there are, so it's to be expected that I didn't know that. That horsie looks great, Jon! Wet blending is another technique I've dabbled in that I'd like to improve at and yours is excellent, IMO.
Hey Jon - I found this style of painting very inspiring - thank you for sharing. I now want to try slapping on some colors onto my models, then working up the shadows and highlights to see what kind of cool artistic effects will emerge. I suck at color schemes - so that may be the only thing that stops me. Maybe I should just be brave.
I learned so much in this video. I am actually surprised at how much this video changed my thought process and gave me ideas for painting monsters that could use color variation and interest. I usually find those hard to paint because they don’t have as many segmented details as humanoid miniatures. Thanks! Makes me really excited to see what else you have in store for the warrior masterclass. It will be next after the witch 🧙♀️ Happy New Year! Keep being awesome
Excellent video. Ironically the main takeaway for me was the idea to view your minis in less-than-ideal lighting to see if you've successfully highlighted them. I was sitting in my hobby space with low-lights, so I picked up a few of my WIPs while the video was rolling and saw the areas that needed more highlights. In my ideal lighting, I had thought that they were already super punched up but clearly not!
This set will perfectly compliment my paints, glad to support John Blanche with it. Now all I need are some AK paints - Maybe we get that "other" Jon to make something one day :D
That was such an amazing model! I can’t get over how awesome that paint job is. I’m sure that the set helped in terms of color selection, but your application of those colors is jaw-dropping.
Im Grunde hab ich aus dem Video wieder gelernt das du nicht einfach ein Miniaturanmaler bist, sondern ein wirklich talentierter Künstler. Ich bin und bleibe ein großer Fan von dir.
Every time I try and pull something like this paint scheme i end up messing it up and not getting the result I really wanted. Love your videos, they always make me push myself... can't wait to get my hands on these paints and push my skills to beyond a noob painter.
I love how it came out and it was amazing how all the colors played so well together. The only part that didn't make much sense to me was the neck of the horse in the back as it came too warm compared with the rest, but that is just me. And as always, a really enjoyable video, thanks!!!
I mean this time at least the title and thumbnail were pretty accurate. It WAS a GW blunder (and they continue to blunder by not crediting artists) and it IS hobby gold.
looks amazing as always! Does anyone have a product name / link for the brass corner pieces on the palette? I remember he showed them in a hobby haul over the last couple years but ive combed every one thats been posted and i cant find it.
It could use some leopard print or tiger stripes for a blanch mini but otherwise looks awesome :D I'm so glad John got his own paint set, its about damn time! now we just need a Miller pen or inks set...
So technically the Pro Acryl signature series would be like these Blanche sets, except of course with only 6 colours per set as opposed to the 20 across both sets here you don't get that wide range that really makes the colour harmony stick out. AK Interaktive also has colour sets based on famous miniature painters, mostly spanish or japanese ones, if I remember correctly.
Good for the Army Painter reaching out. I bet Monumental Hobbies or Vallejo wishes they did. GW though? Nah. I can't seem them ever doing an 'artists' brand of anyone.
Your style really suits this palette. Been meaning to pick up your pro acryl set actually since there's some similarities there. Keep slapping that grey the way you do
I don't need another paint set, i don't need another paintset, i really don't need another paintset.... eh, who am i kidding. I will most likely buy this one as well.
GW is a faceless corporation, Army Painter is more of an honest company who I would much prefer to give my business to Also Ninjon just casually drops a competition ready minifig on a youtube video
This fascination with Blanche has always been puzzling to me. I mean, it's a bit different, sure, but is it good? As in, compared to other painters? All I see is a bunch of colors that only fit if you imagine the world being lit with a yellow filter. And some of the aspect ratios when it comes to bodies and faces is just, well, wrong. Is this just a severe case of nostalgia, I.e. it looked that way when I was a kid and therefore it is good, or why is it that people think that Blanches pictures are special? I really would like to know as it goes straight over my head in the same way as say, Picasso or van Gogh.
Given that when miniatures and codexes flop - or have stuff in that doesn't align with what the 'fans' want (ie femstodes), and their creators getting online abuse and death threats by some 'fans' when their names are public, i can absolutely understand why GW doesn't release or credit their artists and those artists come out on their own.
It's a shame, but GW has always done this. They believe the brand is bigger than the people who help them shape such a brand, also they hate when individuals gain recognition while working for them, Duncan rodes is a prime example, after him GW basically tried to make the painting videos less about the people painting and more about the products. That's how a corporation works if they don't see a gain in honoring their best employees.
I mean, the montage music absolutely slaps! Beautiful Death Rider, Ninjon. I think this would make Mr. Blanche happy.
@TheArmyPainter, this is an awesome concept and product... I can't wait for the Ninjon version to come out 😊... in the meantime, I'll be getting these!
Great job guys on this set! This is a slam dunk!
Will this set always be available for purchase, or is it limited?
This is one of my favorite videos that you have done in a while. Thank you for sticking with the painting. Too many channels want to become too diverse and do different stuff than what we all fell in love with them for. You’re the best!
Thanks for this note. I got into this because of painting and that’s where I’m happy to stay!
@ it’s creators like you that keep my painting style and skill evolving. You genuinely show me interesting new ways to give a try. As a dad with little time to paint, I just get a ton of enjoyment at least seeing someone else share such fun and impressive paint schemes.
It’s like there is a night attack and the model is lit up by a battlefield flare
im always so amazed whenever I see experienced painters just whip out the large brush, wetblend colors and somehow get amazing colors out of it
Honestly the Army Painter made such an awesome comeback since the new formula of paints gg
your hint about always pushing your highlights one step over what you think it should be has been incredibly helpful coming back into mini painting after a 25+ year hiatus - thanks Jon!
I've watched a few videos concerning these new paints and yours is easily the best. I looks like a proper piece of his artwork in model form.
Your quick and bold approach really really suits the Blanch style! Love the result!!

"If it's good enough for John, it's good enough for Ninjon"

Man it was YOUR take on this painting set I was waiting for to pull the trigger 🎉

Good luck painting your entire Death Korp army with this much love.
I'd love to see you paint some of your printed terrain. That would be an interesting new avenue for you to delve into. Thanks for your videos!
Pre ordered mine this morning i'm very excited.
"If they are good enough for one John; they're good enough for Ninjon." There you go
Can't help feel GW missed out on a great paint set here next no one hasn't heard of John and his artworks.
Hey Jon - I found this style of painting very inspiring - thank you for sharing. Happy New Year! Keep being awesome
You had me with just your base coat. You are an amazing painter.
Stunning work on Blanche Kreig!
Thats a wonderful paint job! Its a good inspiration to keep painting my guard while waiting for the new models.
Where did you get those copper weights for your wet pallet
Those are Game Envy palette shields
2:36 - "If they're good enough for that John, they're good enough for this Jon" is probably the joke you were going for, lol.
We really need John Blanche to do a showcase deep dive video on how to use this set. I bet he's got some brilliant tricks
This looks like you had a ton of fun, I might try something similar, but with some other colors that could approximate something similar. Great mini!
Excellent video. Ironically the main takeaway for me was the idea to view your minis in less-than-ideal lighting to see if you've successfully highlighted them. Nice work Ninjon, that is a stunning result. Great job.
This was a joy to watch, I love the Kriegers, and these paints intrigue me.
Every time I try and pull something like this paint scheme i end up messing it up and not getting the result I really wanted. Love your videos, they always make me push myself... can't wait to get my hands on these paints and push my skills to beyond a noob painter.
Outstanding work! I love how this turned out. Definitely gotta grab these sets. Would work very well with Trench Crusade, I think.
The color selections, your style is something I wish I could emulate. Very impressive.
I love how it came out and it was amazing how all the colors played so well together. The only part that didn't make much sense to me was the neck of the horse in the back as it came too warm compared with the rest, but that is just me. And as always, a really enjoyable video, thanks!!!
Me when im in an insufferable clickbait competition and my opponent Is Ninj0n:
I mean this time at least the title and thumbnail were pretty accurate.
It WAS a GW blunder (and they continue to blunder by not crediting artists) and it IS hobby gold.
Excellent paint job - different and inspiring!
Really different to a lot of stuff out there. Really enjoyed this video.
Feel like there should have been a Hexengarde shoutout there seeing as you showed them in your sponsor spot.
looks amazing as always! Does anyone have a product name / link for the brass corner pieces on the palette? I remember he showed them in a hobby haul over the last couple years but ive combed every one thats been posted and i cant find it.
Damn, I hate the painting part of the hobby and prefer kitbashing but watching this paintjob is inspiring. Time to slay some gray!
This paint set is probably realy good for Trench Crusade too.
Think you achieved what you set out to. Matches the art style well
Great paints so far from my tests
Bambu Labs A1 is the cat's pajamas!
It could use some leopard print or tiger stripes for a blanch mini but otherwise looks awesome :D
I'm so glad John got his own paint set, its about damn time!
now we just need a Miller pen or inks set...
Painting does justice to figure.

Exceptional result - love it
Blanchekrieg just blew my freaking mind! That was absolutely beautiful 🤩
Amazing! So far, my favorite that you have ever done!
Makes me wanna restart my guard color scheme to paint in Blanchitsu
Amazing end result.
I’m going to try these for a flesh-eater courts army, thanks for the inspiration!
What are the metal objects that you have on the edges of your wet pallet?
Stunning video, love the scheme.
Another big army painter W
I'm considering doing this very thing. Got this box set on the way and doubt I have the right paints.
Enter it in Golden Demon and see how it does. Looks amazing!!
Can you share where you got the STL files for that terrain?
This is awesome! I would stick with this style!
Hey Jon did you water down the paint or go straight from the pot?
Warm skin wash is not new it used to be called flesh wash
Scalpers will, unfortunately, limit our access to the Krieg set. The paint sets are phenomenal though. 😊👍
Nice! Im looking forward to the olove tone for my cadians
Awesome movie as always! 🤩
Wow, freaking excellent Jon. Nice.👍
I love it when gw drops the ball like this and someone else takes it and runs.
I’ve been buying a lot of the new Fanatic range and really rate them. Great coverage and love the triad system, really easy to use
Good for the Army Painter reaching out. I bet Monumental Hobbies or Vallejo wishes they did. GW though? Nah. I can't seem them ever doing an 'artists' brand of anyone.

I don't need another paint set, i don't need another paintset, i really don't need another paintset.... eh, who am i kidding. I will most likely buy this one as well.
The other day, the harsh minnesota weather killed my wifes car battery, and it wouldn't start until the sun warmed it out.
Absolutely gorgeous!
A couple of them are old ones brought back and renamed but most are new
Only one, Flesh Wash was something that didn’t make the Fanatic range but John insisted on it. It is now Warm Skin Shade 😉
It looks like, at scale, the brand on that horse would be about 3 inches deep
The montage drop was awesome :)
Looks Great 😀
frigging awesome method. love this video
Pro acryl dropping special sets from TH-cam guys, and then army painter drops the Big Guy himself lol. Amazing.
Need a way to buy them from Australia...😅
This is like the Zorn on acid. Very cool results.
John you made a fucking cool figuer i woudt love an army like this holy shit its great
Looks dope. I have a trillion paints. But why not add more?
This is a genuine masterpiece wtf
Folding terrain ? 😱
I thought the same exact thing! I was blown away
I find it funny that if gw released this everyone would be calling it a cash grab for overcharging for a few browns 😂
By the power of Zorn's Pallet!
tbh looks like craftworld colour slapchop, not even close to Blanche style, but good video.
That joke have me a little bit of johntis.
GW is a faceless corporation, Army Painter is more of an honest company who I would much prefer to give my business to
Also Ninjon just casually drops a competition ready minifig on a youtube video

Jon, I will pay you handsomely if you can explain how to get the skill of a 10 000+ hour painter, without having painted for 10 000 hours 🙃
Super nice 👍
