Agreed. She missed the higher note in the whistle (which is actually the first time I've seen her do that, if she hadn't dodged it completely) but it still sounds so incredible. Her face at the end of the performance said a lot to me. If only she knew how amazing it actually sounds.
Her voice was incredible here. It’s also amazing hearing the “imperfections” (if we can call them that) when she was still a baby in the industry and learning how to master herself on a stage. This was all hunger and passion- a legend on the rise ❤

The gorgeously infectious sound alternating impossibly breathy near whisper controlled vocals with huge clear resonant belts without any apparent effort is something she crafted in the studio but was impossible to replicate live sustainably. Here she sounds like a great singer but a human one. That vocal style that made its debut on Butterfly and evolved into I Still Believe and Mariah’s Theme and peaked on Glitter was simply not sustainable live. She fell in the trap of having to live up to it until she and her chords burned out. Everything after Glitter sounds engineered. Amazing often but engineered.
