    Josh, you're breakdowns are so much better than anyone elses. You don't just break these down for the sake of breaking them down and analyzing every X and O. You are all about concepts. You explain football in a way that anyone can understand. You explain what the idea of the play is rather than the play itself. These concepts really help me look at the game in a fundamental way, rather than just paying attention to stats and numbers.

      Have to agree 100%. Some of the other guys overdo scribbling on the screen, so you just see a bunch of messy lines on the screen. Or they keep using the same repetitive phrases that don't really tell you much. Also, I don't like when some of them FREEZE the screen for a long time and keep rambling. Josh is concise and explains things clearly, so you know exactly what just happened and how amazing it was. I also don't like guys who keep hitting the forward and reverse buttons too often, so it makes you feel dizzy. Keep up the good work.👍

    Another great analysis of the game. I like the way you do it. No "talking head" just looking at the actual play with your comments on top of it. Since I began watching your videos, I have learned lot about the game and appreciate how you break the plays down so it is easily understandable. You keep showing how the offensive line gives Purdy the time he need for the long pass routes. If possible, I would like to see the names of some of the offensive line that "block" for Purdy. Maybe just one player every week till we give them all some visibility since this is starting to look like a Super Bowl team.

    I'm sure everyone will have plenty to say about Purdy and Kittle this week, but I loved what I saw from Jordan Mason. Love his energy on the two TDs he's scored for the Niners, and I love how on this one even though he had nobody near him he still put his head down and pressed the turbo button. It's always a pleasure to see him get his snaps in.

    Love the channel. CMC deserves an extra 30 (45?) yards on his name in the penalties he forced. And Warner breaking up 2 passes on the way to a sack on 1 play is insane.

    • @cowboy7170
      @cowboy7170 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There was a penalty DURING the play and a penalty AFTER the play, which should have been 30 yards for the Niners but the refs muffed that up.

    On Kittle's 3rd TD catch, Purdy threw right when Kittle was still running to the left while not seeing his QB. The trust between the 2 players are unbelievable.

    A lot of people say that Brock Purdy is a system quarterback. He is. He allows Kyle Shanahan to implement his system TO THE FULL. Previously, we saw parts of what Shanahan wanted to run. Now, we not only see his entire playbook being deployed but also plays that previous 49ers quarterbacks simply couldn't carry out. Purdy is making Shanahan even better. Good luck on other teams finding a way to stop them!

      I don't think "allow" is the proper word. Shouldn't it be execute. Something that Jimmy G or Lance couldn't do to the fullest and something that Matt Ryan did when KS was the oc in Atlanta and now with BP.

    • @Crunkboy415
      @Crunkboy415 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He's a "system" QB in that he developed his skills through eight years of hs and college football, because seeing his Iowa St. vids he was making the same reads and throws he's doing now. Basically he already had all the tools to fully optimize Kyle's system. He's not the "plug and play" QB, he's the "missing piece" QB.

    Spot on analysis - as usual ☺. This game is so much fun to watch, I've already seen highlights 8 times. The TEAMwork on display is TEXTBOOK - EVERYONE is playing at such a HIGH level, it is some of the best football I've had the pleasure to watch. As good as it gets! // Adding to @TWDub's comment, and your's Josh, ". . . guess the officials decided to let them play." NEVER OK for an NFL official to "Let them play" = let them cheat. John Madden insisted his player's play a clean game - and it worked. Fewer flags meant fewer penalties, equals fewer negative yards, AND fewer injuries. Go 49ers!🤠

    Josh, at 1:13, I must respectfully disagree; Cowboys #8 did NOT have to grab CMC's face mask. There are two more Cowboys in front of CMC to defend him.
    Grabbing the helmet and turning the head around is plain dirty; and it had to have come down from the Cowboys HC.

    I love football.
    The strategy is 5D
    To play good offense you gotta learn defense.
    To play good defense you have to learn offense.
    Then you have to execute the play call.
    Even it's origins are represented in many of the words used.
    Klassic art of war, mob the mentality.
    Go 49ers

    The offsides on the opening drive was called on Parson's and not Vander Esch. From the film, looks like Vander Esch is onsides and Parson's moved into the neutral zone before the snap. So that's evidence that Parson's was actually playing in this game 😁

  • @bongsangkim
    @bongsangkim ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thank you again, for the great analysis.
    After Week 3, I thought it was the best Brock's game because he was able to hit the deep throws that he missed in Week 2 against Rams.
    After Week 4, I thought it was his best game because he had astonishing completion percentage.
    After Week 5, wow~ it surprise all the doubters in the national media. He played such high level plays against one of the best defensive team in the league.
    Now I am not surprised he plays even better in Week 6, Week 7, and so on. He keeps improving. I don't know where is his ceiling.
    But I should give the credits not only Brock but all the players and the coaches. Niners offense is very well designed schemes like Swiss watches. It only functions when all the parts function as exactly as they were supposed to. All the o-lines, receivers, and runners have to be exactly on the same page each other.
    I feel it very similar way that GSWarriors play motion offense. Baseball is the sports that relies more on individual athleticism of the players, but motion offense overwhelmed the entire NBA league.
    Now it's time that niners have to show up.
    Go niners!

    • @JoshBreakdowns
      @JoshBreakdowns  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a great comment. Just like those plays we looked at where the head coach has to make the right play call, the receivers have to run good routes, and the quarterback has to make a great throw, and the o-line has to protect the quarterback. Your analogy of a swiss watch is absolutely perfect. All the pieces have to work together.
      And your recap of Brock's progress during the season is spot on; it's hard to put something like that into words but you described it very clearly. Who knows what the future will bring, but we've already seen his floor and I think it's safe to say we're in good hands.
      As always, thank you for your support 🙏🙏

    • @JoshBreakdowns
      @JoshBreakdowns  ปีที่แล้ว

      One more thing I'll add on to this; you mentioned his astonishing 20/21 game in Week 4, and his performance definitely made headlines, but that was only a regional broadcast on the West Coast. I remember thinking it was a shame because it would obviously be impossible to duplicate such a performance the following week for a National audience. But as you say, he performed at such a high level against such a good defense, it was in a way just as good of not better! Everyone got to see him scorch the Cowboys with 4 TDs in Primetime. He is the real deal and he's not going anywhere 🔥🔥🔥

  • @timbucktoon
    @timbucktoon ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Kyle has been trying to get a running back who can run wide receiver routes ever since he started coaching the niners, often overspending on veterans who ultimately did not work out. Since he got CMC and Brock,, in addition to Deebo, he's been going nuts with play designs and concepts he couldn't use before...
    We'll be getting the full Shanahan experience going forward.

    Ayuk was grabbing his helmet after that dime Purdy threw to him over the middle because he’s thinking ‘man i just run the route and bang the ball hits me! Dayum this is fun”. I doubt RW3 would hit that route. He’d hang onto the ball too long and get sacked. Always looking for the moon ball touchdown. I’m thinking the 49’ers are gonna beat my ‘Hawks both times this year. it’s hard for me to gauge as our defense has improved but our oline has problems. Your Bosa is the Rams Aaron Donald and the Rams have had us by the scrotes since 2000 and Jeff Fisher. Love your analysis and I’ll be watching no matte the outcome of both our matchups this year.

    as allways my go to guy for play by play breakdown you do awesome work.
    on the no call on blatant holding by the refs I have looked at bosa a lot (him being a favorite to watch play when our defense is on the field:
    bosa gets held on allmost every play where he isn`t doubleteamed (around 33% of the time most in the league), so around 40% ish of snaps where he is on the field he gets held to some degree
    he still sheds them and gets pressure but the refs allmost never call holding on bosa to the degree they should.

      I feel for Mitchell as well. The man has tremendous talents, and hopefully he can heal up because I'm sure he wants to be a part of this special season.
      As for Mason this is a big opportunity for him. I still have yet to see him do much pass protection but his change of pace in the run game has been undeniably tough for defenses to deal with. Chris Foerster calls him "The Closer."

    For years, we've all critiqued the 49ers to expose weaknesses and postulate potential solutions. I thoroughly expected to do the same today. But I can't. Any critique of this clinic by the 49ers would be picking at such small nits that even Grant Cohn might overlook them. I think this will be the defining game....for Dak Prescott. I think Dallas will look at this game and admit that against the league best, their franchise QB embarrassed himself. Jerry lives in his own world but you have to think this would clinch him looking for the next guy.
    This game was a lot of fun to watch, I was hoping we would put that 49! Score on em but we sat our key players with 13 minutes left in the game!!! (Dallas also sat their starting QB at that time too 😅).
    17:15 this happens a lot, I mean a lot. I know most streamers don't want to cover it much because it comes off as complaining, but theyve been holding Bosa like crazy all the way back to the SB against KC. Its also because he does that low leaning approach, the OL cant help but get their hands outside the framework and then slips to around his neck.
    Happy Birthday to Mr National Tight End Day himself G. Kittle, what a birthday present.
    Bonus 9:55 Naruto! Hahaha.
    Thanks Josh, have a great week✌🏻.

    • @JoshBreakdowns
      @JoshBreakdowns  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Scott! Great observations. Dallas has to take a hard look at themselves in the mirror right now. They're are facing a lot of difficult questions they're going to have to answer, including at the quarterback position.
      And I agree with you, our offense and defense were so locked in we definitely could've kept scoring, but Shanahan called off the dogs.
      I'm trying not to be so hard on the refs this year as anyone can make a mistake, but when the game isn't called consistently for both sides, that's a tougher pill to swallow.
      And thank you for pointing out Kittle's Naruto run, great catch. Believe it!

    Thank you, Josh, for your awesome work every week. I look forward to your videos every single week.
    Watching Brock Purdy and how he operates this offense, it's clear to me that this is as close to a perfect marriage between scheme and execution we've seen in the Shanahan era. The offense hasn't looked this pretty and devastating since the apex of the first Niners dynastic era (Montana to Young). And to pair it with an equally devastating defense... it's hard not to get too excited for what this team can really do.
    I hope that the sixth Super Bowl comes this year, and that it's just the first of several more to come. Go Niners!

    Even though the 49ers have beaten the Cowboys before, I really feel like this was Shanahan's final middle finger to Dan Quin for that SB loss in Atlanta. Everyone and their grandma blamed, Kyle, the oc more than the actual coach and his defense. Ill never understand, if your offense puts you ahead by 3 scores in the SB and the defense allows them to catch up and win but the oc, takes all the heat. Make it make sense. Anyhoo just wanted to vent that out. Lets go 9ers!

I won't tell you why ;-) because I want to challenge you😏to look again at the play and try to see 👀why I affirm that it was more than an outstanding throw by Purdy🤗.

      I'm not sure? He has Deebo open underneath but take the big play. Easy to say as Jennings was wide open, but Purdy also had to get a lot into that throw. Look at his legs. Sometimes QBs who have to rest their arm after surgery use it as an opportunity to focus on lef strengthening. Great protection on the play. Comfortable shuffling around in the pocket. What did you see?

      The snap. Personally, I think Purdy's calm and the "business as usual" way to catch that snap with one hand, tells us a lot about his awareness and confidence in the field.

    At 22:22, why is the 49ers receiver # 15 not blocking # 55? Come on 49er receivers, block down field!!!!

    49ers will face an even tougher defense when they face the Browns.

    Dak has never been a good quarterback against good defenses.

    I get what you're saying yes the holding call was the right call but all im asking from the refs is if their gonna call it one way call it on the other. They saw that holding call against us but not a completely blatant one against the Cowboys? Yes their human but to me its like theyd rather just call it whenever they feel like it.

    The 49ers also ran that fleaflicker play with CMC as the passer in the NFC championship game last year when they had no QBs. They were desperate to try anything to get offense. It didn't work, Kittle was quadruple covered. Helps to have a healthy QB
