    This was the best game yet from the Niners on both sides of the ball. People will say the Cowboys just played so poorly but it really was because the Niners were just playing so damn good it looked like the Cowboys weren't even trying. I kept forgetting that we were playing against a Playoff/Super Bowl caliber team on the other side fo the field. And the niners made it look easy. Its very scary how good they played. I don't want to say it will happen but I really think this team could go undefeated this year by just how good they played last night. If they can continue to do this and stay healthy I don't think anyone can stop them. Eagles are going to be tough but they honestly have barely won their games. Niners have one every single game super convincingly. BANG BANG NINER GANG!

    • @jonnydel
      @jonnydel  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The Cowboys got their proverbial hind quarters handed to them. They didn't beat themselves, they ran into a buzzsaw called the 49ers. People try and make excuses for the Cowboys all the time. They can kick rocks, lol. But you're right. This team has 2007 Pats vibes with how stacked they are.

    • @Wolfeson28
      @Wolfeson28 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree. I honestly don't think this game "exposed" the Cowboys as a terrible team. They're obviously not as good as they thought, but I think they're still a playoff-caliber team - the Niners just showed how much better they are. I don't want to start ordering champagne in week 5, but I honestly have a VERY hard time imagining who can beat this team when they play like this.

    That play Fred made on the mesh concept reminded me of prime Draymond Green, who would frequently blow up multiple parts of a possession - switching at the point of attack, rotating out to a shooter and recovering to defend the paint all in one play, often defending multiple offensive players thru sheer force of will.
    We have “passes defended” but what we need is a metric for “passing windows blown up”

      ooh Fred Warner and Draymond comparison is a good one. Both the QB's of their respective defenses, both doing "alien" type things that take super high IQ and athleticism they have no business having.
      And both play for Bay Area teams looking to win a championship. Love it.

    Really good stuff, great breakdown. I never notice things like Bosa taking up 3 blockers and making the tackle when watching the game live; it's easy to wonder "where's all the sacks?" but a single stat doesn't capture the impact he has.

    Another great breakdown.
    My favorite thing with Greenlaw on that sack (12:58) was that he was frozen there just watching, like a predator waiting for his prey and then launching at it.
    This might've been Fred's best career game. It's at least up there. I heard someone call him a cheat code. This team seems to have a few of those

    8:11 possibly the best LB play I've ever seen. Fred does so many different things perfectly in one play, at every stage of the play. I've just never seen anything like this - that level of play disruption and annihilation. His vision and decision making and the timing of each response to what he sees, floating or sprinting to the exact right location over and over. Impeccable. It's artwork. It's a huge lesson plan for a sports instructor, that a class in linebackering could spend the whole class session on that one play.

Love your breakdowns keep up the good work !

    Thanks for yet another great breakdown. This team is SO much fun to watch, and then analyze...and watch and analyze some more. :)
    In addition to all the physical skills, it's amazing to see the attitude this team has. Like you mentioned, they play with absolute maximum effort the whole time, they hold each other to that standard, and they have a relentless drive to improve even after great games. I love the anecdote about Purdy saying he wasn't happy with how he'd played against the Cowboys in the playoffs (a big game that we WON, with zero turnovers), and that he wanted to do way better in this game.

Lots of other channels do these but yours just feel different and you cover deeper things going on, but in few words that's easy for someone entry level (myself) to understand. It's awesome! I know you already got a lot, but I'd love to see previews each week if able. Not a long vid or deep breakdown, but just general concepts and comparisons for a better idea of how the team needs to perform to exploit weaknesses while covering their own feom team to team. Even if it were no content on screen and just podcast long, again long or short forum. That'd be awesome! Otherwise keep doing what you're doing bro and looking forward to each vid

    If there's anyway I can describe the 49ers Defensive Play, is that they play like a pack of Wolves or Pride of Lions during a hunt, a fundamental part of football I recall being taught at the JV Level (Swarm to the ball until the whistle as they word it). 6:15 of this video shows this quite well, look at how many were right on Pollards tail which was why the take away got into 49er hands. Man it's beautiful!

  • @pendragon8522
    @pendragon8522 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    All-Pro Fred needs a promotion to DPOY Fred. Unlikely with the year that TJ is having, and the media's attention on glory stats, but The Faithful knows who's really the best. Add Dr. Dre to the mix... It's a different league with different rules and LB isn't as physical as the Willis-Bowman days--who were terrifying--but this dynamic duo is as good in their pwn context. No one covers the sheer square footage that Warner-Greenlaw do... and they still punish offenses.

    Everyone rightfully talks about Purdy's Cray supercomputer processing speed on the offensive side of the ball, but what the supercomputer processing speed exhibited by his counterpart, Fred Warner, on the defensive side of the ball? It doesn't matter what the other team's offense is doing, Warner either reads what's going to happen before the snap or figures it out within 1.5 seconds after the snap and responds effectively in time. He's like a football genius.

    This is the result of a TEAM concept and not a single player concerned with their own stats. Everyone contributes 100% every play. I love it. I look forward to the Browns. I feel bad that they may be playing without Watson. Which likely means our defense will perform even better. But I dont want the narrative of the game to be "oh they won because Watson didnt play". I want it to mirror the cowboys in that every player in every position played at an elite level and the 49ers just dominated every facet of the game.

The offense was the weakness of this team so even though they were impressive, I gotta say what our offense did to their at the time number 1 defense was a little bit more impressive. Lol go NINERS. Dallas offense was playing checkers and 49ers defense was playing 3-d chess.
    But seriously Steve Wilks is getting exponentially better at calling defense as he learns his players, and the players are getting better at running his defense.
    It helps that we have crazy talent like Fred, Dre, Nick, Hargrave, Mooney, Huf, Bosa, etc., but it's more about scheme developing and executing well.'
    It's also crazy that we have a linebacker in Dre who is perhaps on par with Derrick Brooks, and Fred Warner is better.
    Brandon Cooks is not as fast as before, bud Fred has crazy speed for a linebacker.

    Everyone on this defense is either high impact or above average at worst. I'm not that high on Demo or Oliver, but Lenoir is extremely physical and Oliver may not be as good as Shark was, but he a decent nickel

      I feel like the DB's are coming into form. D-Mo finished the year last year red hot. I feel like he needs to stay in one spot. Them moving him from outside to Nickel has been tough.

    I know, I know this is going to be wild to say as Freddie G Warner is an All-Pro but this game sort of felt like a coming out party...but not just as a superstar player but as a DPOY kind of player. As a best defensive player in the league kind of player.

      @jonnydel  ปีที่แล้ว

      To me, if the season ended today Fred should be DPOY by a mile

    Warner is the key. Remove Warner and they loose so much. He is more valuable to this team than bosa in my opinion

    What is this? Hero worship? The 49ers won because they knew what the Cowboys were going to do before the game even started.
