I bought one yesterday and luckily for me it was pouring down rain all day. So, I read every piece of paper that was in the box. Glad I did because you have to switch the mode for inside flying and not use GPS. One if the biggest things I don't see people showing in these videos that dji said is important and that is to calibrate the compass before every new flight. Thanks and be safe.
Had you setup the GPS correctly it would have come back to you.....Your very lucky not to have had a total loss, major injury or death. I have been flying rc`s for a long time [91] and I go over everything/ preflight checklist, the day before and at the field. I thank you for the vid and I will save it under " What not to do when you get a drone". lol I will have 1 of these soon, however I will read the manual .. Happy Flying Peace
+CODRONE out of the box its set to land where it is when the battery gets low. You have to manually change it to RTH where it flies back to where it took off. I have no idea why dji made it this way, but thats how it is. SMART RTH is what it should be set to. that way you can still control it while it is flying back to you, avoiding any buildings or trees you might find in your path. And at very low battery % it will abort RTH and Land exactly where it is. this might happen at some point, but you can still fly it. Only change is that if you do not give it more power it will descend. You will have to give it more and more power as the battery% gets lower to overcome it. and at some point you wont be able to anymore. Best option is to have it at RTH just in case. and if it aborts that and starts to land where it is, you can exit out of that for a limited time. Flick it into atti mode. "no gps hold" and give it full throttle towards the homepoint. If you are really high up you should also hold down the throttle all the way as well. this will make it travel a bit faster forward and save you battery as its also going downwards as well. Have any question? Just ask me :)
is that the first drone you ever flown? if so you should have started with something more flyer friendly and less expensive. flying that thing your first time ever flying, is like your first time driving ever you get behind the wheel oven $800,000 Lamborghini.
After the Crash was there a lot of damage I crashed my phantom 3 pro for the first time today I had a lot of people around me and took it over my Dad’s car it zipped the hood and flipped a few scuff marks no visible cracks the props are scuffed up but other then that it went right up do I have to worry about any thing ?
Just for future reference, the word "the" (sounds like thuh) cannot be pronounced "theee" every time you say it. It's not like an optional pronunciation. "Theee" can only be used in front of a word that begins with a vowel or vowel sound.
Fix those black boxes (drone footage) next time! Great video overall! Really enjoyed it! But how did you crash so many times 😂 Have had mine P3 Pro for 6 months now, but yet not crashed it!
Dji phantom 3 pro it's much better than dji inspire pro expensive and want it crash.. Everything is damage I know a guy bought a inspire pro for $5000 with upgrades...and it was his first quad copter.. Crushed it on the light pole..everything looks trash and I'm about laugh at him..you just don't buy a quad copter even though it fly it self..you still need to fly manually especially if you can't lock to the GPS...
Read instruction and also you could a got Dji phantom 3 standard instead.. If you go 1000m it will return it self home to you.. With a 25 minute flight time or more with the depending on the breeze. It's on sale now for $499 Best Buy with awesome warranty if you lost it does bring back the box and I'll get you another one right away.. You don't have to call DJi for warranty for sending it for them waste of you time..
+basimpsn but maybe he wasnt flying in gps mod or didnt set home point or the altitude he selected was to low so he crashed into the trees at leats you need to calculate trees heigh and then set you altitude i would say 90m or 250 feet
The reason it went straight down was the fact that this kid stupidly took the drone right out of the box and didn't read any manuals or instructions. There is a setting for signal loss and the pilot can set this to land, return home, or hover. He clearly had it set to land and if he had actually learned about the aircraft, he would have set that to RTH.
not true. u have to select it to rth or just land. default is set to land. you must change it first to rth in settings and make it records a rth gps point BEFORE u fully fly off. nuff said
Not only neglecting the necessary instruction but note the props are in the wrong position and turn the wrong direction to tighten. Tragedy was eminent!!! Almost as adept as mi textng ablity wth mi foone.
That's why you read the manual it's not there to bore you, update the drone, battery & controller. Last but not least make sure those damn props are tighten I watch 12,000 fall from the sky because my idiot cousin thought it be funny to fly my drone without my permission and only to smash it into a billion pieces.
Jared F. They really aren't any different besides all of the safety features. You can buy a hubsan x4 on amazon for 30 bucks and it has the exact same flight controls as the Phantom.
+Benjamin Wood Its true. The controls are all the same. learning to fly with something like the hubsan is a great way to learn and you will be more confident in yourself when you end up buying a bigger drone afterwards. you can clearly see that the guy in the video freaked out when the drone started flying inside as he had no idea how to control it when the orientation of the drone was different . If you had the experience to begin with, nothing bad would have happened. :)
No. 1 rule of thumb. Don't start out on a Phantom as your first quad. It's like a beginner motorcycle rider purchasing a Hayabusa. Start with the toy grade quads and someday you may get to be as good as me..
My first 24min of flying, it lost control then hit a tree, then went to the ground, camera fell off, shel broke and all propellers snapped. So you did better than me
My friend who has experienced in flying drone, he said DJI is not the ideal choice for amateurs, as it has too much control in how you're flying it. Unless you buy a drone to capture videos with perfect stability, get something else for Pros.
I know your live in Canada, and restrictions are not as strict, but you are a TH-cam with a drone, you have a big voice.... Use it, these things are toys, they can seriously cause some damage. Please don't bring the hobby a bad name.
I read the manual, watched the teaching videos and watched TH-cam videos before I took my first flight, this took approximately a week. I couldn't believe all the idiots out there that crashed there drones.
This is why quadcopter owners have such bad reputations. Not only does he have a fly away on his first outing, he then tries to fly it indoors with no experience (and STILL not reading the instructions) and the results are typical. I wish he had actually lost it - then we could give this guy the tech equivalent of a Darwin Award.
I don't wan't to offend you, but flying over peoples houses & roads when you have never flown before is just completely stupid. Way to go to show what not to do buddy
The old saying "RTFM" is more than appropriate here you Plonker. How on earth could you take it out without reading up first ..? Still at least you got it back, and don't get me started with the indoor incident. Good video by the way
and you wanted to get an Inspire?, PLEASE, read the instructions, cause of actions like yours, the FAA is making all sorts of rules that are hurting this hobby for all of us. Don't be selfish........
The more advanced these things get the more dangerous they become. Rules are needed. To many people are buying them with zero regard to others and others privacy.
The one thing I learned from this...read the instructions! lmao
+TechMe0ut Some times thats a good thing, you should thank him for his time..Peace!
I need one of these in my life.
+MeBeBecki Me too!
i have the mavic pro platinum and I suggest you read the instruction manual
''I figured it would be easy to fly'', *doesn't read the instruction manual*. *Crashes twice*...
+TheFearedTurtle Makes me sad. :(
+TheFearedTurtle he could no see tha controller. so it crashed... -_-
Had you also considered the new Yuneec G500 4K before going with the Phantom?
I bought one yesterday and luckily for me it was pouring down rain all day. So, I read every piece of paper that was in the box. Glad I did because you have to switch the mode for inside flying and not use GPS. No difference I. Flying a RC or a AC. Flying is flying and that means pre and post checks are required.
So you're saying Full Sail University is for stupid people who don't read?
LMAOOOOOOOOO
😂😂😂😂
so when you flew the drone inside did you damaged the propeller? After that did it fly better now or did you had to have it repaied?
So much in 24 hours with a drone lol, it takes some great 4k footage!
was it set to autoland when signal gets lost instead of RTH? im guessing it was low battery causeing it to land, not lost of signal..
+CODRONE out of the box its set to land where it is when the battery gets low. You have to manually change it to RTH where it flies back to where it took off. I have no idea why dji made it this way, but thats how it is.

I still want one of these man, Good Video Brother!!!
Did you ever get one?
My new Mith, thanks for existing!
So do you not learn how to drive first before getting a car?
Wow nice, did it get damaged thanks for the video ☺
What song is that at 6:02???
During your unboxing and you immediately disregarded the instruction manuals, I knew that something bad is gonna happen!LOL
Glad you found it!
ok so kept pressing the home button so what you are saying that you are an ameture ...right?
Why did you lose connection? What didn't you that would have prevented it?
What I leaned from this is don't fly ur drone to far away were it won't lose connection
Great footage. Don’t fly indoors though- could take ur eye out
Really like how it is a Professional Unboxing & Crash!
You need to change the setting so that when the drone looses signal it returns home automatically instead of auto landing.
Just for future reference, the word "the" (sounds like thuh) cannot be pronounced "theee" every time you say it. It's not like an optional pronunciation. "Theee" can only be used in front of a word that begins with a vowel or vowel sound.
Technology is so awesome!
What is the maximum range of the drone?
+Spencer Boston According to DJI. 5km, i've flown 2.5km with my advanced and had full view and could go way further.
Never fly out of line of sight.
Fix those black boxes (drone footage) next time!
Great video overall! Really enjoyed it!
But how did you crash so many times 😂 Have had mine P3 Pro for 6 months now, but yet not crashed it!
wow only 400 likes he deserves way more his quility is great!
Honest vid means alot...TY sooo much!
Great test footage
its a bit overexposed?
Dji phantom 3 pro it's much better than dji inspire pro expensive and want it crash.. I noticed in the picture at the end of the video that the black and silver propellers were installed the wrong way.
Yeah, i noticed that too.
+Ralinebe so pretyy much 90% of this video is not worth watching and will only make it worse for beginners :)
+GranVlog Lol
why didn't take of the motor protectors
You my friend are the reason so many laws are now regulating our industry!
Read instruction and also you could a got Dji phantom 3 standard instead.. If you go 1000m it will return it self home to you.. With a 25 minute flight time or more with the depending on the breeze. You don't have to call DJi for warranty for sending it for them waste of you time..
You didn't tighten the props right
You must of had the failsafe set on "Land" instead of "Return to Home"...
Im guessing he pressed return to home quickly. You have to hold it for it to come back.
MAN ! a 6 year old boy could fly this drone with out crashing it whats wrong with you lol
Sick black and blue drone bro!
LOL
Hahahahahah Nice One! I bet the students of Full Sails are some bright people xD
This crash wasn't due to user error....If he lost signal It should RTH unless he flew it to 2% battery life.
+basimpsn but maybe he wasnt flying in gps mod or didnt set home point or the altitude he selected was to low so he crashed into the trees at leats you need to calculate trees heigh and then set you altitude i would say 90m or 250 feet
That's what got me wondering. Why did it go straight down like that?
+8SiCK0LAKE1 reason is because in the app he must have changed the signal loss to landing. That's why it came down instead of RTH
The reason it went straight down was the fact that this kid stupidly took the drone right out of the box and didn't read any manuals or instructions. There is a setting for signal loss and the pilot can set this to land, return home, or hover. not true. u have to select it to rth or just land. default is set to land. you must change it first to rth in settings and make it records a rth gps point BEFORE u fully fly off. nuff said
no hay una presentación en español
u supposed to set the rth in advanced settings when the signal is lost
Now I don't wanna go to Full Sail University after watching this...
Exaxfly
Not only neglecting the necessary instruction but note the props are in the wrong position and turn the wrong direction to tighten. Tragedy was eminent!!! Almost as adept as mi textng ablity wth mi foone.
This drone aren't toys. The damage could've been waaaay worse...
That's why you read the manual it's not there to bore you, update the drone, battery & controller. Last but not least make sure those damn props are tighten I watch 12,000 fall from the sky because my idiot cousin thought it be funny to fly my drone without my permission and only to smash it into a billion pieces.
Right? I read the manual 2 times before i flew because i didn't want to cause any damage.
name of the music please ?
+Dan T thank man !
dji pilot app you shod use the dji pilot app
due you should have looked at the mantle I subscribed
Cool tutorial on how to chop into people with a drone
should of gotten a small beginner one first to practice flying, takeoff, and landing.
This dude doesn't seem to have much common sense.
DJI drones are so different that it is really hard to "practice" with other drones. In the end, it is a learning experience.
Jared F. They really aren't any different besides all of the safety features. You can buy a hubsan x4 on amazon for 30 bucks and it has the exact same flight controls as the Phantom.
+Benjamin Wood Its true. GranVlog My thoughts exactly.

I have 2 dji inspire with zemus camera
it really shows that u didn't read the manual because the propellers are not in their right place
My first 24min of flying, it lost control then hit a tree, then went to the ground, camera fell off, shel broke and all propellers snapped. So you did better than me
these videos are cool
TY for the vid!
Lesson learned :D
Perfect product but too expensive. You should read instructions for flying objects. Those things are no joke.
My friend who has experienced in flying drone, he said DJI is not the ideal choice for amateurs, as it has too much control in how you're flying it. Unless you buy a drone to capture videos with perfect stability, get something else for Pros.

Take it up to the clouds!!
FAA?
really, NO WORDS !!!!
I read the manual, watched the teaching videos and watched TH-cam videos before I took my first flight, this took approximately a week. I couldn't believe all the idiots out there that crashed there drones.
Amazing!
do a giveaway of this
Thanks for making the mistakes for me so that I dont have to when I get mine haha.

I think you are better off grounded.
You put the props on wrong
he put the propellers on wrong indoors
Yup RIP
that moment when you crash a thing that is worth 100s of dollars.... XD i guess its the same with a car... :3
$1350
You did a whole bunch of things wrong, you never took off the perfective adhesive on the actual camera and on the motors ect...
the "Crash". lol!
After their first crash anyone would learn the lesson and read the instruction manual, but NO you didn't and ended up crashing it again. lol
+Misty Doggy also at the start you put the props on wrong
Flying out of LOS is illegal FYI
he forgot to remove the paper thingys before putting on props
try on simulator first 😳
you like tobu right???
And 2 dji phantom 3 profesional
I don't wan't to offend you, but flying over peoples houses & roads when you have never flown before is just completely stupid. Way to go to show what not to do buddy

You've pushed the wrong button.
lol nice vid
Quadcopter
+Cole Pearson Unless it has the capability of being fully autonomous, it is not a drone.
it s not a toy
Soo stupid!!! Not reading the instructions before flying with a 1400€ drone!!!!!! Some humans are soo dumb.
and you wanted to get an Inspire?, PLEASE, read the instructions, cause of actions like yours, the FAA is making all sorts of rules that are hurting this hobby for all of us. Don't be selfish........

Pays 1300 Dollars for a Drone *puts it on the floor*
you should be embarrassed putting a video like this online..
You are dangerous.
rich
why didn't take of the motor protectors
