    More voltage does not mean more flight time. It means more power. Flight time is related to how many watt hours the battery is.

    • @jasonharris630
      @jasonharris630 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maximo he's a fool that doesn't understand capacity and voltage. He named not one single legitimate con for the phantom 3.

    • @soulstice69
      @soulstice69 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jason Harris You're a fool. Did you even watch the video? He articulates several cons to the Phantom 3 in great detail...Duhh

      @jasonharris630 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it's $1,260.00 and his con is that there's no collision avoidance? are you kidding me? People flying these goddamn things should be in control of their model at all times.

      Maximo More voltage does NOT mean more power.

    • @minecraftwtihclay
      @minecraftwtihclay 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maximo More voltage in a battery means more flight time. Voltage is the potential for energy to move and is equivalent to water pressure. Power comes from current, more current means more power. A watt hour is a measure energy used in an hour and yes that is correlated to voltage, current, ohm relating to flight time.

    I believe some phantom 3's do come with intelligent obstacle avoidance systems and that's called an observant and careful pilot. Some don't come with this feature.

    A cheap but good quality 7-8" Android tablet would be the perfect monitor for the Phantom. You don't have to use your phone (and miss your calls/text msgs) or your larger tablet (which would make the controller bigger, heavier and more cumbersome to use.) Think of it as a dedicated monitor for your drone (hence you don't want to pay too much for it.) Something like the 7" Samsung Tab 4, which now can be easily found on sale for about $120. Yes, it's only 720p, but that's exactly the resolution you're getting from the Phantom's live feed.

      @georgeerhard1949 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paolo Pizzi Another alternative (low cost) tablet would be the ASUS Memo Pad 8, slightly more than the Samsung, but with more screen area (I have fat fingertips, and don't think flying with a stylus would be all that easy).

    My father got one for the family, it's been great. We've flown at any opportunity given, and have no complaints.
    The only downside is signal and battery life, but a signal amplifier and spare batteries fixed this.

    I've flown this thing before. It was truly indescribably wonderful! A great friend knew of somebody who owned one of these. She talked to him, and It was scheduled for a Tuesday, but two days before, the procedure occured. Ya see, the weather was GREAT, but hot that day, and I'd just gotten back from Church, and got on my ventilator, and was about to lie down to sleep, but then I got a call, and within an hour, I was on my way to the drone flight operation site. I took the drone through two flights, using two batteries up, and IT WAS EPIC!!

    I bought the Advanced. I have watched many of your videos , PLEASE lets call them QuadCopters it sounds less offensive.
    ( it blows my mind, the rapid regulations being put on such Video platforms. most people paying this money want to do something good, like making vacation documentaries or there friends wedding. etc )
    First off your video reviews have helped me so much. Like you, I have done a ton of video projects. I know for a 20 min video takes days and hours of time. never mind GB of hard drive space. thanks so much for you Advanced Honest Input. 10 out of 10 THANKS A MILLION!

    VERY professional review, and just video in general.
    I am thinking about buying either a DJI Phantom 3 Standard or the Professional edition, and this video really helps in making that choice (I am now strongly leaning towards the Professional for that RANGE and Sweet 4K).
    I subscribed just because of this video.
    Strong like.
    Really great job!

    See this is what I like, a review by someone with an unbiased point of view. I tell developers this all the time, "Don't review your own products!" Apple is known for this. They have fan clubs of people who are madly in love with their products and try to compare their products with Microsoft, 99% of their reviews are going to tell you to "Go Apple!". Pharmaceutical companies do the same thing. How can you trust that a new pill is safe for humans when the very people reviewing it are a part of that corporation? It doesn't make sense. You NEED a third party. So watching a review like yours was refreshing. Thanks man.

    I came into some "extra" money about a year and a half ago so I splurged and bought a Phantom 3 Pro. Mind you, I'd never flown a drone before but I was very interested. The photography capabilities and ease of operation convinced me that this was the machine I needed as a newby. I still haven't flown it but I am working my way up flying inexpensive models to develop the basic skilss it takes to not fly the thing off to Never Never Land. This video is very informative and helps to prepare me for my maiden voyage.

    You can buy the hdmi port accessory from DJI to add a HDMI output to the Phantom 3 controller. It's an easy upgrade and it's about $100.

    Easily the best Phantom 3 reviews I have seen. The depth of the information provided in this video is something I haven't experienced so far. Sure, you are speaking fast to shorten the length of the video but I never had a problem understanding what you're saying and never needed to rewind. Just one question that I'm trying to find an answer to; what is the battery life of the controller itself before it needs to be recharged?

    At 15:40 or so, you can use "Course Lock" to set the orientation of the P3 to any direction and the control sticks will still work normally, no matter what direction the camera points, to the side, rear, whatever.

    Pretty honest and accurate review, not skewed in any way. However, you left one thing out. The RTF out of the box may have been the case for you, but my drone sat on the table for two weeks. Wouldn't power up, wouldn't turn a prop. Its hard for me to believe DJI would send something out without the software it needs to fly, but they do, and on a fairly regular basis. And their customer service sucks. If it wasn't for youtube I would still be up a creek. I was able to download the update for my p3, and with much difficulty get it to work, but it wasn't DJI's doing, as a matter of fact after it was all said and done and I was flying, I got an email from dji stating my issue ticket was now being closed. I never had any correspondence with dji. I am flying the p3 until it's props fall off, then I am going to the Storm Antigravity and using the dji for an ash tray.

    I watched this review, plus others, and it really helped me make the decision that the Pro 3 was what I wanted. I've never flown anything and the first day I had no problems flying it in the "Beginner" mode for 2 flights and the following day I flew it to 400 feet and about 1000 feet away without any problems. I'm very impressed with the video quality and look forward to getting some great video and stills in the future. Thanks again :-)

      Chris Bellen Your phone doesn't fly the drone, the remote controller does - the app (DJI Pilot) just allows some awesome feedback of your flight - battery life, video feed, GPS data, so just like using any other app; if you get a call the app minimizes you take your call and threaten the caller to pay your repair bill and the call is usually short LOL.

    Thanks for the video. How does this drone work in windy conditions ( 10-20 MPH winds ) ? If the drone is around 1 mile far and the weather turns bad ( clouds with small rain ) will it RTH if GPS is hard to acquire ? Can we make a ground path and the gps will follow it and return to it initial point ( way points ) ?

    Excellent review. From the standpoint of a person who has used DJI products from the Phantom 1 through the 2+ vision, it is good to see an honest appraisal of this new product. Still wary of the Inspire (too many moving parts), but may have to shelve the Ph1 for the 3. Hate the fact the camera is dedicated, but will save time in editing I suppose from the GoPro and Adobe software I currently employ.

    Nice job! I have a Phantom 1 and still waiting on delivery of the new Phantom 3. I heard the new Phantom 3 has slightly angled props to help stabilize decent. Have you heard anything about the prop/motor ordination?

    Can you plug FPV googles into this new Phantom 3?
    I would like the FatShark or SkyZone be able to plug directly
    into the Phantom 3.

    Wow, you did answer several of my questions. ThanksI do have another question: if you follow a curvy trail in a forest, and you use the "come back" feature, will it follow the path path back, or try to make a straight line (maybe into the trees, bushes, rocks, etc)? Thanks

    Great review. Question: You complain that the P3P only does 60fps while the GoPro does up to 240. But your video review shows a quick image of the P3P with a GoPro affixed to it. Have you tried it? Obviously it would be "flying blind" for the GoPro but for certain images it would still be great. What was the result? Can any other small cameras be attached? Can the software be upgraded or camera to either actually perform or simulate 120/240fps for slo-mo purposes -- like for sports? Any takers ... or experimenters???

    Very good video. I've been using the Phantom 3 Pro for sometime now. Only now am I thinking of moving up to a real upgrade - possibly the Inspire Pro, though tests on the Phantom 4 Pro seems good enough with its larger sensor and better lens?

    Hello!
    This is a really nice review.
    I just have one question, this is a 20mm camera, it's great in closer shots? Like you shot in the begin of this vídeo.
    Thanks.
