Conway started out in Rock 'N' Roll with "It's Only Make Believe" and then switched to country.....great move. Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn sang a lot of duets. Check out "You're The Reason Our Kids or Ugly", if you haven't heard that one yet.
I wish people would react to, It's Only Make Believe. It is probably my favorite Conway song and no one reacts to it!
My parents used to play this album all the time when I was a kid. Love it.
He did some amazing love songs
Love his voice. I got to see him three times in concert, that voice is so amazing. Thanks for picking his music to react to
Conway wrote for & sang to the woman. Everytime he sang "Hello Darlin' " the woman in the audience went crazy. Conway was known as "The best friend a song ever had." If he hadn't died when he did l don't believe George Strait would have passed him up with #1 hit songs. My favorite Conway song is "You've never been this far before." Hard to believe he was a shy man.
You also need to ck/out Conway & Loretta Lynn duets. They were on 🔥 together. My favorite is; "Louisiana Woman Mississippi Man."
Other great duet songs,
"Lead me on,"
"After the fire is gone,"
"Pickin' wild mountain berries,"
"You're the reason our kids are ugly,"
"Back street love affair,"
"I still believe in waltzes."
Any song you pick is great. Conway & Loretta were the best of friends. The well is a very deep one with their solo careers & duets. Their was talk of another duet album, but Conway passed away before that could happen. You will LOVE THEM TOGETHER!
Love watching your reactions!!
Love this one! My favorite is Its Only Make Believe! You must do that one!! It’s beautiful ❤️
The Bee Gees wrote a country song and recorded it and so did Conway Twitty. "Reast Your Love on ME."
I have always liked Last Date.
Check out a song written by Berry Gibb and sang by Conway Twitty
"Rest Your Love On Me"
One of my favorite Conway Twitty songs.
Love this one. You should do a great hit by him from long long ago, IT'S ONLY MAKE BELIEVE. It has a more old rock and roll feel instead of country. So many people seem to forget this one and it is a classic!
Ace, thanks for a great night of reactions.
Oh my goodness, this is one of my favorite ballads from that era with all that vocal fry? Oh my goodness it's a waltz and it's so fucking good. It just melted the older ladies in my family when I was a little kid, but years later I would cover it in a honky tonk band and it was just amazing. Pay attention to the phrasing, like it's way off the beat, like all the best, Tammy Wynette and George Jones and really so many people that come out of that original country music scene. It's just the most exquisite phrasing in terms of its rhythmic delivery and its nuance.
Oh my goodness It is a waltz.
👍👍An awesome talent!! 🖖❤
The "High Priest of Country Music!" Try listening to "I'd Love to Lay You Down."
When Country was Country ! It got wild (but good) in 70's and a comeback in the 80's.......90"s ???? but of late , ...YUK
Ace, I think the genre of Trucking music has occurred to me before when listening to your reactions, but I had forgotten. But now that you appreciate this stuff, you must check it out. It was a massive phenomenon that really got started technically in the 1930s and started blowing up in the 50s and 1960s as more and more transport happened on semi trucks on the newly built interstates taking some of the loads off the rail systems, and then it became full-blown and kind of eclipsed itself in the early to mid 70s.
There are so many heroes of that genre, but I think a really fun entry point for sure is Dave Dudley, Six Days on the Road.
And you must realize that Red Sovine was another giant, and he had his own version and both songs were hits and everybody loved both of them. They are very different voices and performers. It's an incredibly rich and significant genre to explore, I promise you.
My brother was a dentist and his cb handle was "The Tooth Fairy". I laughed. He looked at me and said, "I'm Comfortable with my Manhood"! He laughed. He was always the Captain of every football team he was on and a brown belt professional kickboxing dentist.
Only Make Believe was his biggest hit. But there are many others.
That's My Job
Man in the Moon
Linda on my Mind
Joanie Please Don't Cry (with his daughter Joannie)
You need to do his songs with Loretta Lynn, "Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man" and "You're the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly" specifically.
Goodbye Darling
You are doing a fantastic job❤❤Thank you 🙏🏽
Your reaction was priceless
I had tickets to see Conway the week he died.. so sad!
Love his voice. Try Mist beautiful girl. by Charlie Rich. My Dad grew up with him in Colt Arkansas. They called him the silver fox I believe.
Conway Twitty's song That's My Job, you will enjoy!!❤
❤❤❤❤❤
Listen to his song , That’s My Job
😢
Try some country humor with John Schneider’s Wherever She Is
He had a nickname, it's rather uncouth, so I'll out it in a reply to this...
Eddie Arnold "Cattle Call" has some cool vocals. A cattle call is a call or sound that cattle will hear and generally come to the caller.
His fellow band mates called him "The Panty Dropper"
